Business Practices
Chase Health Advance statements are deliberately misleading and are designed to make sure that you do not pay the promotional balances on time.

Payment problems
I have done everything possible I know to get my payment on time to Chase Health Advance and I am the lose every single time. I am a teacher and I am payed once a month. I pay all of my bills on the 30th or the first of the month and they all receive my payments except these people because of the penalties. I have tried calling to change the date, make the payment over the phone, give them a blank check to make the deduction every month and it is always a no or a penalty. I made the payment on line and they said they did not receive it. I registered the letter and it got there on the 5th but they were closed just one hour earlier, why was I surprised. I am now paying a $500.00 interest fee. I am so upset I tried calling and they just said "too bad". I am disgusted by this company. There is no where to go to pay in person, there is nobody to talk to that does not say "too bad". I even tried pleading and asking them what I could do to rectify the problem and the supervisors response was make 2 payments at once and that would put me a month ahead and guess what? They took that payment as one month and charged me again. If I am able to I am going to contact every company that uses Chase Health Advance and tell them what a despicable company they are using.

The company
I've set up online bill pay... Transfers me to another site, will not allow me to pay online ... Will not take my login and password ... CAN'T talk to real person, always ridiculous wait time, no email or live chat support. Only option is to call and wait, wait, wait. Seems they intentionally try to make you late so they can jack up interest rate & pay fees. They SUCK!!! Paying off ASAP & will never do business with Chase again. Thus us my 2nd account & have had problems with both.

Charges on already closed balance
applied for ChaseHealthAdvance in December 2010. It was offered by my dentist’s office as the convenient credit option, which allows me better manage my finance and avoid to pay a big sum at once for orthodont’s treatment.
However I figured out that it was a big mistake to use ChaseHealthAdvance credit.
The first due of misunderstanding with dentist office clerk I made a late payment. I believed that it would be direct payment. Ok, it was my fault, I paid late fee and all next payments were paid by due date.
After that I figured out that ChaseHealthAdvance recalled promotion percentage rate and switch to 27, 99%, which is definitely does not match my understanding of good finance management.
By the 1st of April I paid all balance including 332.92 interest charge in order to close account.
However I got another statement, which said that I need to pay another 83.75 interest charge.
Concerning all these above
I find information in statement not transparent. There is no detailed information about how Balance Subject to Interest Rate was calculated.

Balance Subject to Interest Rate
Statement from 12/09/2010 5, 000.00 clear
Statement from 01/09/2011 5, 000.00 clear
Statement from 02/09/2011 4, 769.00 ???
Statement from 03/09/2011 1, 404.32 ???
Statement from 04/09/2011 3, 523.39 ???
Because ChaseHealthAdvance has not provided clear information about how all charges had been calculated, I request to close my account right away. Which of course was refused to do. More over I called and wrote them to request more detailed information how they got such charges. However I didn't get any replay on my requests.

dishonest practices/interest rates/fees
I borrowed $ 1000 from Chase Health Advance at the assistance of my dental office to pay for a dental procedure I had to have. I was told that if I paid the balance within a year I would have 0 percent interest. I paid the $ 1000 back within 5 months, but since I missed a payment in the beginning Chase kept charging me interest at almost 30 percent AND monthly fees of $ 39. So, I have been paying interest and fees on intereson fees. I called to see if we could negotiate and the best they said they could do was waive two fees. I offered to ptay the interest if they waived all the fees. They wouldn't. I offered to pay the balance of interest and fees on the statement that posted my last payment and they refused. If there is a way to submit a written complaint they wouldn't tell me and there is no direction for this on my statement. I missed a couple of monthly payments but paid the $ 1000 well before the year was out so I feel that paying over $ 300 on an initial loan of $ 1000 over 5 months is preditory. And interest and fees will continue to accrue. These are preditory practices geared towards people who are sick in some way or another and not up to their best. There is the letter of the law and the intent. Chase is pushing the letter of the law to squeeze every dollar possible out of people who sign up for their plan. I understood the associate at first to say that he would waive the fees if I would pay the interest. I said I could do that and how much would the interest amount to. He took a looooooong time to calculate the interest, and the came back with the original $ 327 plus change PLUS a $ 2 charge to pay over the phone. I asked him what the interest was. He said I had to pay the full amount, then he would back out 2 monthly fees (out of 6) and they would send me a check for the credit. So what was he calculating? I asked to speak with a supervisor and that took about 1/2 hour and I had to listen to the same line of music over and over and over again. That was just annoying but not surprizing. The supervisor didn't tell me anything new. Years and years ago I had a credit card with Chase Bank when my original credit card provider sold their accounts. I quickly closed the account as Chase was using unfair and predatory practices then. When my dentist suggested I use them, I decided enough time had passed and perhaps they had changed. They have not. I have found a new dentist too.

Unconscionable Interest Practices
IF you ever wanted to know what unconscionable business practices are, this about this company and make your own assessment. In the guise of helping individuals with interest free funds for medical procedures, they will charge unconscionable interest fees should you miss a deadline or payment. It is a trap. People will undoubtedly mess up on the payments and they will sweep in with insane interest rates, and even interest on long paid off payments!

My story is simple. I did one their their loans, set up monthly payments through my bank so as to not miss a payment. Something went awry on the last payment (we thought it was paid) and we missed a second payment (again thinking it was paid off). SO, we sucked up the very high late fees and just paid it all off in early January - just to be done with the headache.

Come February, I get another bill for $155. It shows that I paid off the entire balance on the previous payment. But, now I owe interest because I didn't finish the payments within 12 months.

What a business? I pay this bill and then I am sure I will get another.

Stay away from these crooks! And, warn your friends and businesses. They are not benevolent whatsoever. They would not budge on me owing on interest even though I paid off the balance the previous month.

I am considering suing them for Consumer Fraud in one of the New Jersey state small claims court. The Consumer Fraud Statute calls for double or triple damages and my important, LEGAL FEES.

unfair late fees and finance charges
I got a 0% finance charge loan from Chase Health Advance for dental work. I always paid extra on the bill and always pay all my bills the day they arrive. In September I never received a bill and got messages from CHA stating that my 0% finance charged was void since I was late on my payment and my interest would go up to 24.75% retroactive for my loan. When I explained I never rec'd a bill (I also then made a double payment) I was told I would be put in for a request to be reinstated for the 0% financing. I was denied. I then asked to talk to the top person, someone names Cindy Grobmeier and was told they did not have a number where to reach her...???Are you kidding, what kind of company is this? They dont use coupon books so they send you a bill. You don't receive the bill so you have to pay 24.75% finance charge.?! Are they not sending the bills on purpose so you get stuck paying the whole loan so you dont get slammed with a huge finance charge!?And why cant I talk to this " Cindy" person? Can someone please answer me?
Im ready to get channel 3 on this, they are a horrible company!

Threating to charge off a account that already was paid
I received a call from Chase Health Advance on yesterday about a payment that was due on the 23rd of May. I mad the payment on May 29th over the internet which they indicated that it was not showing on my account. I got into a Heated argument with them which they called my work number and they were informed not to. I requested to speak to a supervisor and I Spoke to a Ms.Elizabeth Rose that indicated that she was part owner of the company. I them spoke to Mr.Doughty that indicated he was the highest supervisor in the company and I coudlnt speak to anyone but him. He then put me on hold which he was very disrespectful and I hung up the phone. They threaten to charge off an account that has not been any were close to ever being 30 days past due. I will never do business with these people ever again. Just to add food for thought the payment had already been made when the call was initiated.

Unethical behavior
Does anyone have the address for the corporate offices of Chase Health Advance? I have had the same experience with this company that everyone else has had and wish to contact the Sr. VP of Sales and Marketing, but cannot find an address. Of course, the representatives who work their phone lines will not disclose this information.

Never use this company, there are too many other interest-free programs out there that are ethical and employ sincere representatives who actually have customer service training.

Finance Charges
They say they offer an interest free loan for 12 months, but nothing could be further from the truth. I tried to pay my account out early and the charged me to do so. Then they also added on plenty of finance charges and late fees when i didn't pay after i thought the account was closed. When i called they were rude and disrespectful. they don't care about the customer. i will never do business with them again. worst loan i have ever had, not worth it!
