Chase System Breakdown: 2 Chase Withdrawals/Month, Making Refund Very Difficult
In May 2010, I logged on to my online Chase Mortgage account and changed electronic fund transfer dates from the beginning to the middle of the month.
Chase did not delete the beginning of the month schedule and therefore began effecting transfers twice/month. Effectively, I was making 2 mortgage payments per month.
I noticed this error in August 2010 and called Chase to refund to me the overpayments. They asked me to provide bank statements showing that Chase received the transfers. That request struck me as strange, as they should have an accounting system that shows when payments were received or, as later analysis suggests, if any payments were invalid and debited back to me.
I nevertheless complied and sent them the pertinent pages of my bank account (each page has enough information to show that I'm the account holder).
Chase replied and said they want the entire statement set whether Chase-related transactions were contained in the pages or not.
I complied with that as well.
Not receiving any feedback after 2 weeks, I called Chase and was informed that they needed my bank's internal statements showing my account balance immediately before and after the fund transfers to Chase.
You might imagine that my frustration had reached maximum level at this stage, which it did. And yet I did just that - going to my bank for internal accounting records - today.
The amount involved, $6, 000.00, supports my business and was forced to go against the grain of logic, reason, and simple good faith, to get my funds back.
Which makes me ask, why would Chase pass the burden of proof to its client when it can easily look up its records, validate the claim, and refund the amount that its client rightfully owns ?
This level of customer service is the lowest that I've seen in my decades of doing business with financial institutions.
I'm in contact with my lawyers, and will pursue resolution of this matter.
Someone at Chase, and I hold its Chairman and CEO primarily responsible, is cruelly insensitive to the group of people that keeps it alive, its customers.

mortgage insurance
Very upset with Chase, they hold the mortgage to my property at 3101 Eden Drive abingdon, md 21009
When I purchased the home 5 years ago I submitted my insurance policy which is a perpetual policy by Baltimore Equitable Company. This insurance is perpetual, it lasts until the day I sell my property. I have not been notified of a problem since 2005. Now all of a sudden they claim there is a lapse in my policy and I do not have a policy. I have called them many times and documented names and dates to no avail. My insurance company has faxed them my policy. The last person, Lisa Matthews who I spoke to assured me the problem was handled and that I would receive a credit for the $318 and a letter to that effect. After waiting 11 days and no letter I just got a hazard policy they bought for me and debited my account to the amount of $1613. I called again today and spoke to a Ms. Taneka Osbourne who stated there was no documentation of a letter ever being sent out. She stated she would handle the situation and make sure my account is credited and I will receive a letter. I am beside myself, I keep going around in circles with this company. I leave messages for the people I have spoke to earlier but no one returns my phone calls. I feel totally exploited that someone would purchase a policy for $1613 when they run $350!!! Someone is definitely making money over there.

Payment
I did a Chase Home loan modification and got an approval for it. I followed up on the modification agreement payment by cashiers check or wiring the money for the payment. I am unsure as to how long I will have to send payment via wire transfer or by buyin a cashiers check. I think this is unfair to me because it costs me at to purchase the cashiers check and sending it via certified mail. This is very inconvenient and unfair to me.
I would like a normal payment plan schedule that allows me to make payments in a form of a personal check with a normal billing cycle. I am in and out of the country and when I am, no one is able to send these payments for me. Therefore, this will incur late fees for me and give me bad credit.

Mortgage Modification
I requested assistance from Chase about a Home Modification Plan exactly one year ago. We lost our business and had nothing but unemployment. At that time, they offered a temporary reduction in our payment from $1120 per month to $981 per month. Though we had nothing but unemployment, we made those $ 981 payments every month and they accepted them, for which I can prove.
We filled out the modification packet as many as seven times during the span of 1 year. The fraud involves that with each packet they would claim they did not have this and then that ---every single time. In other words, this tactic is a stall tactic until ones financial situation changes. At this time, low and behold, they have all the packet pieces and with your current situation, you do not qualify. At this point, you are denied the modification; and they add up all the fees they can possibly find and demand this huge payment; and slap you with foreclosure and proceed to steal the home ----because by then you are even further behind. Also during this period neither tax nor insurance are paid (if escrowed), thus making matters even worse. Not to mention the reduction in the temporary payment, in our case, less than $200 dollars is certainly no favor at all---just more of the same scam.
I also might add you never have one adviser .Instead, you are shuffled through many creating mass confusion, and even the contact phone numbers are shuffled continuously.
This must be investigated, as I am quite sure we are not the only ones going through this very unethical and downright evil charade. In fact, there are already web sites trying to organize themselves, all with the same complaints concerning Chase .
Thank You,
Brenda Nickel

Making Home Affordable Loan Modification Program
Back on July 21, 2009 my husband and I were offered a home mortgage modification loan through our mortgage company CHASE Finance. This is the 2009 Obama Mortgage Relief Plan that is suppose to help homeowner's get their interest rates and payments lowered to a more affordable amount. Well my husband and I are beginning o think that the whole thing is a scam. No way is President Obama aware of what these banks are doing to their customers with this program. After three trial period payments they are suppose to lower your interest rate and payment. It's been over seven months, we have made 4 payments, we have never received any proposal with new interest rates and new payments, we have had to send 4 sets of paperwork (including hardship letters and pay stubs), we have had to sign or initial a 4506-T tax card every month, we are receiving our monthly mortgage statements showing us 8, 000 in arrears with hundreds of dollars in late fees, we do not have a single piece of paperwork showing the payments they auto debited from our account for the trial period which amounts to 5838.80, we have not received one call from them updating us on the status, when you call them you speak to someone different each time and are never given the same information, we have received 2 sets of papers saying we were in foreclosure only to be told when we called that the papers were mailed in error, we have been rudely talked to, we found out by calling Fannie Mae in Washington directly that the application has never even been finalized and sent to them for review. What are we suppose to do? They are destroying our credit...the stress has been unbearable...we have spent hours on the phone and typing complaint letters and most recently wrote to our state Congress. This is such a disgrace. We had never been late, we had good credit with them, we just wanted what we were entitled to. CHASE ought to be ashamed of what they are doing, but they don't care. And through all this mess, I had a brain tumor (benign thank god) removed last May. We are so discouraged. If there's anyone that has been through this and can help we would truly appreciate it

misappropriation of mortgage payment and threats of foreclosure as a result
I have all the receipts confirming that I have made all my mortgage payments to Chase and my bank statements confirming that said payments were withdrawn from my account. Yet, I receive an average of 3 harassing phone calls daily, accusing me of having missed payments and threatening foreclosure. I have approached Chase repeatedly about the problem and have reached an impass: Chase personnel is rude, obnoxious and unwilling to check its own records to track down where my money went. The phone calls are allegedly being "recorded" but Chase refuses to give me access to the recording. It is making my life extremely unpleasant and I am considering now filing a lawsuit.
I am reaching a point where I would be more than willing to associate with anyone looking to start a class action against Chase Home Finance. Incidentally, chase was bailed out to the tune of 25 billion dollars a few months ago and, as a tax payor, owes me, at the very least, a duty of diligence in its banking procedures.
