Scam
Because Real Estate business was down, I got behind in my Mortgage payments with Chase and when i got my first Chase mortgage collector, he was so nasty and we got into an argument, I mention to him that I was going to start a loan Modification to what he answered "Over my dead body" and... "As long as I'm here I'l be sure you won't get approve and he was right! Chase put me in a trial period for 1 year and last week denied (I can tel you in half hour if you qualified for a loan but it took the one year with me) my loan after I send a letter to my congressman Peter King and he answered them
(I just send more Email to Sen. Schumers and Gillibrand as well as President Obama also from advice of this website where this gentleman (Also a victim of Chase) set up a foreclosure Victim space in order to create a class action lawsuit against Chase. go to: myspace.com/foreclosure victim.

Fraud
We have been dealing with Chase Home Finance in President Obama's (Making Home Affordable) program since Sept., 2009. After a year of lost papers, faxing, mailing and refaxing information we are approved for a loan modification - but after our property was sent to an attorney for foreclosure. We would not be in foreclosure but Chase refused to take any payments from us AT ALL during the loan mod process. We were served with a summons and answered it and while waiting to hear about the result, that's when we got the Fed EX package telling us that we were approved for a 3 month trial. 3 days after we receive our approval, we received a letter by snail mail that we were denied!!! I called Chase and they said that the second letter was a mistake. I called their attorney's and they said that the sale date for our property was moved back until February but would do nothing about stopping it without Chase telling them to do so. I have called Chase on numerous occations to ask why they haven't stopped the foreclosure, but can't talk to anyone that knows anything.
I called Chase to make a payment (3 wks before the payment was due) by phone as the approval states that we can, only to find out that we can only make payments by Western Union, cashier's check or money order. Another misrepresentation by Chase. When I asked why, they said that they didn't know. I asked who would know and they didn't know who would know (The Marks Brothers "Who's on first").
So following the orders of Chase, I went and got a Cashier's Check, made a copy and sent it in with the coupon provided by priority mail with confirmation that Chase received it.
We received a letter from the attorney's handling the foreclosure saying that there were alternatives to foreclosure, including an MHA, and we should send them a financial statement. We sent another answer to them stating that, yet again, we were already approved for a MHA. We included a copy of the approval packet, a copy of the cashier's check and stating that Chase had all of our current financial statements and they should consult with their client to get all of our current information.
Whenever we have tried to contact our "relationship manager" we are unable to do so. After going through the dog and pony show including the loan number, name on account, my name, my relationship to borrower, property address, our address, whether we reside at the property (duhh, the 2 are the same), phone number, alternative phone number, what I had for breakfast (no, just kidding), whether we plan on keeping the property, and then "how can we help you today"? When I ask to speak to my relationahip manager, they say that she is unavailible but that they can help me. Problem is, everytime you call, you speak to someone else and get a different answer.
I have found out that everytime another paper is faxed or mailed, it goes into a different file, and depending on who answers the phone, as to whether or not they CHOOSE to go through all of the files on record to try to answer your question. Some just take the most recent and when you question them get very defensive and refuse to go any further. You may get put on hold for as long as 7 or 8 minutes, or even disconected.
We are still waiting for an answer from the court on the summons.
I know that there are many people in the same boat (or worse) that are trying to deal with Chase. Is there a class action suit that we can get involved with?

ESCROW ADDED TO PAYMENT WITHOUT AN AGREEMENT
This is to make others aware of the:
NJ HOME OWNERSHIP SECURITY ACT OF 2002 C.46:10B-22
"HOME OWNERS INSURANCE AND PROPERTY TAXES ARE YOUR RESPONSIBILITY. NOT ALL CREDITORS PROVIDE ESCROW SERVICES FOR THESE PAYMENTS. YOU SHOULD ASK YOU CREDITOR ABOUT THESE SERVICES"
(THE BIG BANKS) CHASE is taking the liberty to create / add ESCROWS to mortgage payments without an agreement. They make decisions on their own without consulting owners. Some of us prefer to keep our money in our pocket and pay property taxes when due.
CHASE is creating serious hardships by doubling-up the mortgage payments LEADING TO FORECLOSURES.
Is this how the big banks make profit? Is this how the big banks pay back the working class that has bailed them out with hard earned tax dollars? This is wrong and quite possibly illegal. IF YOU HAVE FACED SIMILAR CIRCUMSTANCES, please comment. We need to align ourselves against these ILLEGAL PRACTICES.

Escrow and Tax Error
I refinanced my loan with Quicken Loans and closed in May, 2010. They sold my loan to Chase in June. I received a "annual escrow balance" statement just before my 10/1/10 payment was due to be taken out of my banking account. The statement was dated 8/26/10. Chase had determined that I was to pay a $682 tax payment on 12/10, so they raised my payment ~$100.00. I called Chase and was referred to their Tax department. I told them that I had homestead exemption and I pay "0" taxes. Jessica of the tax department, told me that Quicken Loans had given them the tax amount of $682. She said they would do another tax analysis. I called Quicken Loans. Derrick in Client Relations at Quicken Loans said that Quicken Loans did NOT give them this tax amount. Quicken Loans has on record that I have homestead exemption. I called my Parish tax office, even knowing the answer, just to cover my bases. I still have homestead exemption. No surprise there! I called Chase back. I finally asked to speak with a manager. He said that they had "no idea" who put in that amount for my taxes or where the amount came from. They apparently have no quality control what so ever! He said that "anyone" from their tax department could put in any amount for my taxes, and they would have "NO" idea who did it, or why. I told him that he was not giving me much faith in their company. He did not apologize. He did not say that they would improve on their methods so this would not happen again. I asked if possibly this was a fraud attempt by someone in their office. I said that numbers do not magically appear on someone's account for no reason. He assured me that it would be "automated" from now on, and that I would receive a new escrow statement. What have they been doing before the "automation"? I have never heard a company representative sound so unaffected, and attempt to treat me like I am a moron. If they cannot track down who put in this bogus amount into my account, this company needs to overhall their entire tax department. As I have read here, this problem is not new either!

Crooks - give the run around
I have been trying to get my home loan modification from Chase for over 4 months (before we fell behind). My fiance was out of work for 21 months and I also had reduced income. Everytime we submit documents (everything they ask for), they say that we are missing something or they need an updated doc. Now, after being 4 months behind and I got a better job and my fiance finally went back to work, they are making me re-submit the request. Now we will not qualify because we make too much. How do you catch up on $8, 000 in payments without losing your house?? We did not even choose them as a lender. They bought our loan from the original lender. Crooked, not right.

Forevearance, Modification, THEN transfer
After being unexpectedly laid off in November, 2009, due to a refinery closing, I became behind in my mortgage payments, and subsequently agreed with Chase Bank to make "forebearance" payments for three months. Much to my surprise, the "forebearance" payments actually went "UP" about $55 a month. Nonetheless, I made the payments as agreed upon, and filed all necessary paperwork for Modification. I made all payments via Western Union every month, on the first of the month. My first payment was in January, and after making consecutive payments up to and including July, when I called to verify payment I spoke to Customer Service rep and was informed my modification had been approved...on June 21st...After learning of this great news, I was informed to watch for new loan paperwork in mail, which never arrived. On July 19th I received a letter in mail advising me Chase had transferred my loan to IBM Lender Business Process Services, effective August 1, 2010. When I FINALLY contacted someone at IBM that I could actually speak to (after 6 calls, over 4 hours of wait) I was informed that no such paperwork stating my loan had been modified had been received from Chase. I tried making payments online, and nothing happened. I did a loan research to see if my loan was "owned" by Fannie Mae, and of course, it was. I then contacted Fannie Mae "HOPE" helpline, and conference call was made to Chase, Loss Mitigation Office, and during that concerence I was again told my modification had been approved on June 21, 2010. Chase assured me they would "expedite" all paperwork to IBM, telling me that terms set forth by Chase "should" be grandfathered in to new loan. Well, here it is late August, and all I get is a couple of letters from IBM telling me I am still in "foreclosure" status to the best of their knowledge, and not one word of what my payments with them would of should be. I am at a loss, as this has now been 8 months of pure hell... Anybody have any suggestions? I am at wits end.

Modification runaround
We started the modificaion prcess about 1 year ago. Submitted all the required paperwork. Set us up on a temporarily reduced payment. He kept calling them. They would say everything is in order-waiting on your case to go to the committee.Call back in 1 week. Call back in 2 weeks. Nothing. Finally we recieved a letter saying we were granted the modification and what our new payment was. We had to call the payment in and they had no idea what we were talking about. As a mater of fact they said we were not approved for the modification. Also, because we had not been paying our full payment we were now behind. They could not accept a payment until we brought the acoount current. If we had that kind of resources we wouldn't be looking to modify! They also told us we had to start the process all over again because some of the laws had changed.so we sent it all in again. Every time we called we talked to someone else. We asked for extension numbers that never would work. We were told that we didn't have to make the payment at all during the process because every thing "is on hold during the modification". We got letter from Chase stating we were in danger of foreclosure because were behind. We called them and they told us that we didn't have to worry. It is just the process they have to follow. We wouldn't be foreclosed on during the modification process. 2 different people there told us this. Then the Sherriff came with papers! We ended up going to the courthouse for a 3 way call between us, Chase, and their lawyer plus a local lawyer hired to represent Chase locally. (Who could not believe how inept chase was).We were told to file a 3rd set of modification paperwork! Because my husband workd for his father and recieves a 1099 instead of a w-2 they wanted 6 mos worth of profit and loss statements! Notarized! We don't own a business and therefore don't have profit and loss statements! So we sent the paperwork-AGAIN! They gave us 2 weeks to get is faxed to them (from the local lawyers office). We had it there before the 2 weeks was up[. The day after we sent it they sent us a letter saying because we didn't sent the requied information we were denied the modification! The next day we got another letter saying-we got the information. We will contact you in 30 days! Yesterday (more than 30 days later) they called wanting more paperwork(all of which we had sent them). They have lost the copies (apparently all of the last 3 years worth) of our taxes and bank statements for the last 3 months. We have faxed these and snail-mailed them -they have them! They gave us 24 hours to get the records to them or they would start the foreclosure process again! So- we sent them AGAIN! We called to make sure they recieved them and they said that we had to send them again! That they were blurry! That is on there end, not ours! Enough is enough! My husband is about to let them have the damn house! Now we owe them upwards of $9, 000 which they think we can actually pull out of thin air! If we had it we wouldn't be in this mess!
Chase is getting away with this! Look at all the complaints on this website! It's called HELP FOR THE HOMEOWNER-NOT HELL FOR THE HOMEOWNER! Class action needs to be brought against them!

Terrible Customer Service
These people are blooming idiots...After applying for and receiving a Home Equity Loan in November 2008 with Capital One, the loan was sold to Chase before I ever made a payment. No problem--I knew Capitla One did not service loans. Called Chase the other day to ask about a grace period on my Home Equity Loan and was told that I did not have a Home Equity Loan, but a first mortgage on my home! They argued with me about what kind of loan I had and stated that I couldn't have a Home Equity Loan on my house becuase I did not have a first mortgage!!! I called back and demanded to speak to a supervisor to get to the bottom of why my loan had been reclassified without my permission...circular service numbers...they all send you back to the same place. "Supervisor" was just another telephone answerer. No explanation...treated me with rudeness...Get Chase out of my life. I know this isn't a big deal compared to the problems that other people are having, but it's indicative of the MISERABLE service this company provides! Will definitely move my business somewhere else and God bless you folks with really big problems.
