This is a corrupt and evil company
Yep, that's exactly what they did! I told them I did it, I told them it was tweeted on twitter to the whole world, and they went on my triple credit report and IMPLIED that I had a PROBLEM RESOLVED with my payment on JANUARY 2010. That immediately put a red flag on all my credit card accounts, which were all cut in half. Retaliation of the most horrific kind. This is a corrupt and evil company. Stay away from them.

I am told different things each time I call
I have been in the loan modification process since 06/09 with Chase Home Finance and have been making my forbearance payments since then, I was told I would only be in this process for 90-120 days, it is now going on 8 months and still haven't heard a thing. I call at least once a week and I am told different things each time. I haven't even been assinged an analyst yet, all required docs have been sent several times. When I call and ask to speak to a manager or supervisor I am immediately told "NO!! you cannot", I am so frustrated at this I don't know what to do or where to go to get my issued resolved. I have issued a complaint with the FTC (federal trade commission) and my next step is the Attorney General. Once I find the CEO's # of Chase, which is Jamie Dimon, I will be giving him a call. If you have any advice on what I should do, please tell me!!

Is there a lawyer somewhere that will file a law suit against Chase Home Finance?
I have been with chase for almost 6 years. Until 21/2 years ago my husband and I made our payments on time he was laid off and we fell months behind. We did a loan modification and at the end of the modification we were requested to pay the 2 months we were behind plus the 3 months on the modification at once. Well being that my husband was laid off and my salary was not enough to make the payments on my own we had to file chapter 13. He we are 2 years into our bankruptcy and someone chase claimed that we fell behind 3 months andwe had to go to court once again to work out a payment plan to repay the late payments. Our attorney went to court for us in December we were granted a 6 month stipulation to pay the late payments we have been on time with monthly mortgage payments and stipulation payments and guess what we get in the mail last month. Yes you guessed it a letter from their attorney saying that we defaulted on our payments. I had to gather all my bank statements of the stipulation and regular payments and forward to may attorney so she could prove that payments were made and taking from my bank account. In the mean time we were not allowed to make our April payment by Chase and they are directing us to our bankrutpcy attorney. So nowit seems that we are behind for April and now May for the regular mortgage payments. What kind of bull crap do Chase have up their sleeve? Why is it that they are trying to take people homes from them that are honestly trying to do everything they can to keep them and when you seek help and advice from them it takes them months to get back with you. This type of treatment is unfair and they keep getting away with it because they have the all the big bucks.

CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP US!!!

Illegally Closed Our Modification
My husband had to take a reduction in hours due to the economy and I am handicapped so unable to go to work to make up the difference. We contacted Chase to see about the Re-Modification program and did everything as they asked. Well after resubmitting our paperwork numerous times we at last were told in March 2010 we would be on a 3 month trial period to qualify for the program. Also in March of 2010 a non-profit organization in our area did a 5k walk to help 2 families with catching up their back payments and we were one of those families. In April 2010 we made the required trial period payment along with a 20.00 over the phone fee because they, Chase, stated we could do it no other way if we were to stay in the Modification Program. Yesterday we received a Mortgage Loan Statement from Chase and I noticed they did not apply the April payment but put it in a Suspended account and charged us an additional late fee. We were NOT late! I called them and after being todded from one person to the next I at last had a customer service specialist ( LOL ) tell me that because of the non- profit organization catching our mortgage up in March that we do not qualify for the program even though they took our trial payment plus additional phone fee in April without saying one word about what they were going to do. We have also never received anything by mail from them stating so. I told them we still can not afford to make the original payments and that I did not believe it was right that they considered the non-profit organization a means to our dilemna. They told me that I could try again for the Modification program even though I think they are wrong in what they did. I would have told the non-profit organization to help someone else if I had known this would happen. Please if anyone out there has filed a class action suit against Chase, contact me immediately so I can join.

Forebearance aggreement to full modification
This is the story of what I went though with chase. This is the letter I sent to the white house, HUD and the making home affordable plan, (edited to hide my identity) :
To Whom It May Concern: February 2010

My name Blank, My husband and I home in WA which is financed though Chase home Finance. My husband was a Manager for a well known company making great money until 2008 when he was let go due to the poor economic state his company could no longer afford him. Two days previous we had found out we were expecting a child but our happiness was pushed out by the stress of how we were going to keep our home. We managed to scrape by and continue making our payments for a few months by selling off all our assets and cashing out our 401 k. We applied for loan modification in February 2009 with Chase and were told we would receive a response in writing within 7-10 business days letting up know if we qualify or not but were warned by them to not get behind on our payment or we would automatically be denied for modification.

We got behind on all of our bills in hopes that our mortgage payment would go down and we would eventually be able to get caught up on everything. I continued to call Chase checking on the status of our modification daily and was hung up on, transferred around and given the run around on a daily basis. This was so stressful that I actually almost miscarried over all of the stress of dealing with these people. After two complaints to the Better Business Bureau I was finally contacted and put on a modification program where I was told by a Chase Home Finance representative that we were being placed on a 90 day trial program which lowered our payment slightly and was told at the end of the 90 days if all payments were made on time we would be able to have a permanent finance at a 30/60/90 with an interest rate of 4.25 % (2.1 % lower than our current loan). After the completion of our program which was in July 2009 we were told we would receive a new contract in the mail with this lower rate and when we didn’t I began to call to find out what was going on. I was informed by Chase that we completed the 90 day trial successfully but they were not done writing our new contract so to continue to mail to payment of the same amount to the same address that I was sending it to under the 90 day trial period.

I have called weekly since and have been told you will have your new contract next month each time and when the next month comes I never receive it. Now last week I received a letter in the mail for a “repayment plan”. My payment is now back up to its original amount and some in the plan are over $1000 per month more than it was. They now are telling me this was a temporary fix and that I need to pay back all the money that my payment was delinquent (the difference between my original payment and the 90 day trial amount)

During the time since I was placed on the 90 day trial plan they have been reporting on our credit that we are behind so now when we try to refinance with another lender they cant work with us because of the notes on our credit from Chase. The only way that Chase will take it off is if we pay $4000 in penalties which we cannot afford.

In the 9 months since we initially applied for modification my husband has found a job and was working a lot throughout the summer and is now laid off again due to the weather conditions. I believe if they would have helped us in a timely manner in the first place and given us a lower payment like we were promised then we would have gotten caught up on our bills and be ready for the winter but now we are even worse off than last year with more mouths to feel and no more assets to sell off to keep our home we could see foreclosure in our near future.

We are two hard working Americans who could really use a break. If there is anything you could do to help us I would greatly appreciate it. I’m sure you are flooded with letters such as mine but I have now filed three complaints with the BBB and even a complaint with the Ohio State Attorney (where Chase’s headquarters is located) and have had no help so you’re my only hope.

Thank you for your time,

Jamie

A few weeks after I sent this letter, I recieved a letter from Chase with a full modification, sighting my complaint from the BBB, Ohio state attorney, HUD AND the white house if you can believe that! I feel very lucky that I finally got enough help to make something happen. I hope this helps you too so that someome else doesnt have to go though everything I went though with case.

Modification Mistake
I am not having a issue with flood insurance, but am with the modification of my home equity loan. I applied for a modification in Dec of 2008, was accepted in May 2009 with my new modified amount starting Jun 2009. Was told by a Chase employee to make Jun payment and send a "good faith" payment of mod amount so I did. Over $700.00. Then was informed that I overpaid and would not have a payment due till Jan 2010 of new mod amount. Statements read ZERO DUE from Jun-Dec 2009 so assumed Chase Employee gave me the right info. Jan 2010 statement reads over $1300.00 due for month of Jan. Since Dec I have been transferred all over the US by Chase Employees, each one telling me that they cannot help me but give me a number of one that can just to find out that they cant help me either. Over 15 numbers and hours of time on the phone lines. Finally, get a hold of a Chase Supervisor in Florida from the Home Lending Dept who is looking into this issue but still have no resolve and now not only is Jan balance showing default but now the Feb payment went towards the balance of Jan that I DO NOT OWE, and Feb is now in default. Its a complete nightmare. My home is on the line and my credit reputation has taken a sheet all because someone put my modification into the system wrong last yr and no one can figure out how to rectify it. I put my trust into Chase and my Home on the line to get help with unforeseen financial hardship that befell upon me, and I get 3 months worth of run around, no resolve and no answers. Just collections calling me everyday telling me my loan payments are in default and wanting me to send more money. It is all uncalled for.. I was told by this supervisor that I am to keep making my monthly payments until this gets resolved and will make things right with the credit bureau plus take care of the late fees and interest for the months I paid that went towards the balance of the mistake they made in the first place that will show as default also... That will probably take another 3 months + to resolve.. I put my trust into Chase and I can only pray this issue gets resolved before it goes on much longer...

Phone Calls
They do not care if you were unemployed for 4 months. They do not care they you have a job that only pays $8.50 per hour. They do not care that you work nights. They have been calling me 3 times a day 6 days a week while I am trying to sleep to earn a living to pay them. They just want their money. They called me on my cell phone the other day as I was going to work. The IDIOT said, oops, I called you Friday. Have a good day. I wish they would talk to each other before they call me. I am robbing Peter to pay Paul.

Chase has lost 190 of my payments and is cashing checks multiple times
Starting September 2006 Chase Home Finance started cashing checks as both ACH and paper check. The have been cashing multiple checks multiple times, but will only give me credit for each check number once. They have taken 190 payments (that me and my bank have located) without crediting my mortgage account by processing PHOTOSTATS that they have generated to take extra amounts from my checking account. They have also taken some checks as both a paper document AND electronically. I have filed numerous complaints including giving them BANK COPIES of the checks and bank statements, but Chase has insisted that my bank statements must include the reversals (which there are none) or they are not my real bank statements. After taking 190 extra payments for a ttoal of $169, 742.20 of uncredited payments taken from me. They have me in the foreclosure process. At mybank's suggestion, I started paying my mortgage payments with Official Bank Checks...most of those originals Chase has returned as copies, some multpile times. In some cases I have the original check, but the bank check has been cashed AND NOT CREDITED. TWELVE of these bank checks are still outsstanding and going back and forth in the mail as Chase states that I am seven payments behind, and have thus demanded over $134, 000 to reinstate my mortgage. I have already paid $169, 742.20 of uncredited payments, thus Chase OWES ME SIGNIFICANT MONEY FOR THEIR ERROR, but the forced foreclosure (for my overpayment by Chase theft and illegal banking activity) continues. I have explained this problem to over two dozen lawyers, but they have told me that no bank would do that many illegal banking transactions and violate that many laws, but that is my reality.
