Chase Home Finance Reviews

Forced Foreclosure
In October of 2005, my father who refinanced with Chase Home Finance, passed away. Unfortunately he passed away intestate. He had made a payment to Chase the day before he died. After the his bank learned of his death, they froze his accounts. Money could go in but not out.

I had spoken to Chase from day one. Sent them close to a dozen death certificates. The mortgage was not paid for the 3 months I awaited to be appointed administratrix. Finally in Feb/March of 06 I was appointed administratrix. During the 3 months the mortgage was not paid. Phone calls to me were on a daily basis from Chase. I would receive anywhere from 4-10 calls per days. I told them over and over that I had to wait to be appointed before I could access my father's bank accounts and pay the mortgage.

April of 06 I made a payment from my personal account. Chase accepted it. Upon accessing my fathers account and closing it, I opened up a new account and put that money in there. I went online to chase epay and logged into my fathers mortgage account. I made a payment of 11K and change. I received and email stating that they had received processed and applied the payment to my account.

The money was taken out of my account. Later that same month, I made another payment to the mortgage, this was debited then returned to my checking account. This went on until July of 06. The phone calls kepts coming in multiple times a day. Depending on who you talked to it was yes we see the 11k payment or no we dont. All depended on who you spoke with.

July of 06 after attempting yet again to pay the mortgage, Chase called and said, unless you're going to pay all your back payments, stop sending us money, we will just return it.

I have filed a suit against chase due to their incompetance. They have tried around 4 times to auction my house and each time I was able to stop it. Chase has done nothing but bleed me financially, physically, and mentally. I have yet to scatter my father's ashes and put him to rest due to this on going battle with chase.

If you have gone through anything similar or even have had bad experiences with chase home finance, please call me at 615-215-7592 or email me at [email protected].

I have a hearing coming up on the 15th of this month. If you'd like to participate in that hearing as Chase has clearly shown a pattern of fraud and deception and also mishandling monies, please contact me immediately to talk to!

Let's show this BIG BANK that we "LITTLE PEOPLE" are not going to back down without a fight. Let's tell them that they are wronging people because of their incompetance and greed!

Mortagage
I am Disabled on SSD and my wife works Retail sales, Last year we had to refinance our home we have had for 9 years now, Because of my disability and some personal matters we refinanced with the same company Chase Home Finance. Our origanal rate was 7.00% and Chase raised our rate to &.75% because we were having a had time! They said we could refinance after 1 year and drop our rate!, We owe $175, 000.00 on a home worth around $250, 000 - $300, 000 right now. Well I finally setteled my Workers comp case and between SSD and workers comp my monthly income has gon from $1, 100 to $3, 500 a month. The Mortagage was in my wifes name because of my situatiion when we went to refinance Chase told us we did not qulafiy for a refinance, and my wife has since lost her job. Chase calls 7-10 times a day even after I speak with them, we are only late 10 days and the calls are all day long from them. They are very hard assed about anything speaking with them and refinancing even though the Mortagage is backed by Fanny May

Bad service
I have lived in my home for 23 years and refinanced with Chase Home Finance in 2007 with a "no documentation loan", whereby no proof of income was necessary. I was starting a business at that time and used the refinanced funds to finance a business for my fiancee and I, only our relationship ended and I got stuck with the bills. I always made my payments on time but due to unemployment, I am now months behind. I started contacting them back in 2008 to let them know I was expecting financial difficulty. After two letters to them and a 45 minute phone conversation, I was told that I do not qualify for the current government bail-out because I am unemployed. I found that you only qualify if you are employed. Chase was supposed to send me some "forms" to complete and send back to them, upon which one of their employees would contact me. I received a mailing from Chase, expecting the forms to fill out, only to discover that it was a "warning" that I was in default and detailed threats of what they were going to do to me. It is as though my letters and phone conversations never existed! I had to call Chase again, and they said they will send the forms "again".

I have another problem now - what to do about paying flood insurance. Where I live, it is required and I don't have funds to pay that either, due to my employment status. The mortgage company can "force place" insurance on you at an exorbitant price.

I continue to actively seek employment on the internet career websites and through employment agencies, but I never get a response to my Resumes.

It is getting harder and harder to have hope that things will turn around, not just for me, but for all those out there that are experiencing severe financial ruin and are ready to be forced out of their homes. I have had to learn alot of hard lessons through the past year, both personal and financial.

Thanks for reading my blog, and if you are in a financial mess as I am, my thoughts and prayers are with you.

Mishandling of Funds/ Payments
A year ago I found that Chase HF had been placing my escrow account monies in an account with the wrong parcel number.
They had done this for three years. I was presented with an escrow bill and asked to pay it immediately. I of course complained, opened an inquiry and have just about resolved my issue. Of course, my monthly mortgage has gone up, as I have to repay the escrow surplus money that was sent to me by law. I have done all the follow up and spent close to 17 hours over the 10 months explaining and making payment arrangements.
Does anybody know if there is a class action against this company for anything similar to my issue?

Disaster Relief from Hurricane Ike
Chase bank solicited my wife and I at the beginning of October offering to defer our monthly payments for two months becuase of Hurricane Ike. At first I declined this but after much arm twisting I finally said ok as I thought the extra money would Help me with my deductible on our damage. I asked if they were going to defer the payment to the end of the note and the person named Rose said that is what they thought would happen. They were going so much of this and it happened so quick, she says that they will have all of this ready when I call back on December the 13th to work out the plan. So here is what has happened.
I called back and they wanted 3 payments as per them I was past due. If I could not make the 3 payments my options were Forebearance or loan modification that I would have to qualify for (which I did). she said they would start that process and told me to call back every week for updates, which we did. I ask her about making a payment and she says don't make a payment until February 1st. I told her that would add 4 months to the note and I did not want to do this. I sent in my December Payment and it was returned. I sent in my January Payment and it was returned. I finally got through to the Analyst who was handling my modification and he says that he was not the person handling this. Jason says, is that what you want? Duh!! He says he will send it to the anlylst named Yanet. Well I call the next week to discuss this with Yanet and she is on Vacation from Dec. 26 through Jan. 14. This is sitting on her desk. I call after leaving Countless messages to supervisors, Yanet and the Disaster Relief Team and noone knows what is going on and they won't return any phone calls. Out of nowhere, I receive a phone call from Yanette on Jan. 21 while I'm at the hospital while my daughter was giving birth. She tells me that they don't want me to make a payment until April 1st. Now we are adding 6 months to the modification, did not lower the interest and now the added $15000 of forced Escrow to the back end. Total add is now at $29000.00 I paid my own escrow but they said they had the right to do this since they were doing a modification. My monthly note went from $2486 to $4300. this does not include our second lean of $1300. I ask her how many people can afford a bump like this? I told her that I wanted to pay the February and March payments. She said they will be sent back.
Now I've sold my home and cannot get them to call me back with a payoff. What a scam. Our family dealt with Hurricane Ike better than Hurricane Chase. They compounded my debt, raised my note to an unaffordable amount and won't take my payment and they did send my Feb 1 payment back. this way they can collect more interest and put me deeper.
What turned out to be Disaster Relief turned into a Disaster Nightmare. And on top of all this, they took the goverment bailout money and raised my credit card Interest rates to 24%. Wow!!!

Foreclosure
I have been dealing with Chase since the summer of 2008 about payments. You never get the same person twice. They never return your calls. You make payment arrangements with one person and you call back and you get someone else and the terms change. They did a forbeance agreement terms over the phone Dec. 1, 2008 and said I had to to put 50% down for good faith but 2 weeks before they told me %20 down. It ended up being 35% down. They put us on a 6 month payment plan of $758 and didn't have to make a payment until Feb. 1, 2009 and said we would receive the agreement in 3-5 days - sign it and then wire the $3, 500. Well we didn't receive the agreement until Jan. 5, 2009 and the terms had changed (WHAT A SURPRISE -since they had changed everything they ever said to us since the summerof 2008). You couldn't read the agreement because it had been scanned and e-mailed to us. I called Chase and they basically said to bad. You have until noon the next day or foreclosure begins again. I have never dealt with anyone that is so unwilling to work with you. They would rather foreclose than help people that have lost jobs and are trying to get back on there feet.

Removing name from public documents as mortgage holder
REVISED 12/30/2008-2nd
Josie Harris P.O. Box 608574, Chicago Il 60660 ; (773)412-8657
[email protected]
Legal Property Description: 2378308 Condominiums; are eight individual townhouses described on a document entitled Plat of Survey filed with the County of Cook, Illinois .

Complaint: Using file information obtained from the Cook County Recorder of Deeds claiming they own Josie Harris’s Townhouse Property at 7443 North Ashland Torrick Ward, Sue Smith and Mitchell Asher sold Harris property at a foreclosure for back taxes after obtaining possession as owners by using a 1998 lis pendens that was settled in chancery and results not entered into the computer. The condominium was purchased by Harris as an individual townhouse separated by a wall and described as real estate property in documents. In addition, the transfer of property (lien) from Mellon to Chase Finance Home was not entered into Eugene Moore Document Website (Cook County Recorder of Deeds (Exhibit 1).
Ashland Home Condominium Association (2378308 Condominium) claimed in Housing court they owned Harris’s property at 7443 North Ashland .
Torrick Ward, J.D., Homeowner and litigator for the City of Chicago argued in court they (Ashland Home, Sue Smith, and he owned Harris’s condominium unit within a building). The Cook County Recorder of Deeds contained false information regarding ownership. A Lis Penden was filed in 1998 (mortgage foreclosure) describing Harris’s property as a building with one address. Freddie Mac and Mellon settled the case with Harris being compensated for the wrongful complaint and the complaint dismissed as a nonsuit (Exhibit 2). However, the results of the Lis Penden were not recorded. Sue Smith and Torrick Ward, J.D., owners of condominiums at 7437 and 7439 respectively claimed they bought Harris’s property for back taxes from Mellon after suing Harris in rental court. Since the results of the Mellon foreclosure was not recorded at the Cook County Recorder of Deeds, Torrick Ward, J.D. argued in court Ashland Home Condominium and he were the
owners of Harris unit and she refused to pay rent. Harris current mortgage holder was not named in the lawsuit and refused to become involved when notified by telephone and mail and are not noted as Harris’s mortgage holder in the public document.
Chase Home Finance is the current mortgage holder for the property. Harris contacted Chase and informed them Ashland purchased the townhouse property for $90, 000 after selling for back taxes which did not exist. They mailed documents stating the townhouses should only be sold as condominiums. Harris’s taxes are current and remained current the time the property was assigned to Chase from Mellon. Chase Home Finance refused to enter a statement or honor the attached rider and refused to change the assignment from Mellon to chase at the Eugene Moore Website; they claimed it would take time to make the correction (Exhibit 3).
I informed (by documents in case 05 M1 729339) Mitchell Asher, J.D. and S. Rissar, Ashland Homes Lawyer, at 157 North Brockway, Palatine Illinois 60067. Who then told me “too bad” I should have had a lawyer to protect my rights. They claimed the condominium is owned by their clients. They refused to accept documents during discovery, changed document dates, claimed I was a renter and the Association owned the property and obtained possession of the property for his clients.
Judge Garber stated I should stop paying the mortgage. During a December 15 or 16 court date Judge Garber told me to stop paying my mortgage. He stated I had lost the property based on the information given to him by Torrick Ward, J.D, Sue Smith, and Richard Giaconda. This would allow them to then pay my current mortgage company the $23, 000 I owe on the property through the possession order issued by Judge Garber.
I am asking that my property be returned to me. Using the documents from the Moore Web site and then Judge Garber insisting I stop paying my mortgage would give Torrick Ward and Sue Smith my property at the default price of $23, 000 using the court system to carry out this scheme and refusal of Chase to intervene.
I am requesting that the people that engaged in this fraud be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. I am homeless based on thief of property using false documents by Torrick Ward that is employed by Richard J. Daley as a litigator for the County
I am homeless and have had trouble securing a lawyer because of the Eugene Moore Website which that has been modified to show Ashland Home Condominium is the Grantor and Josie Harris, Grantor with removal of Chase as Grantor allowing them to illegally obtain my property in rental court as owners and then sell the property for back taxes which do not exist and I do not owe.

ps. They describe the townhouses as a unit with property to easily move between describing the townhouses as a unit without additional property owned.
CHASE BIG SCAM,FRAUD January 9, 2009
FRAUDULENT PRACTICES
As a single and uneducated woman as far as mortgages are concerned, I refinanced my home (33 years here) to get money for college for my kids, pay off bills, get a decent vehicle so I could get to work. I did this with a referral to a supposed honest company. Well, it wasn't Great Day Lending aka Good Day Lending took the initial paper, charged me outrageous fees, and then in 90 days sold to Peoples Finance. Chase "services" my loan. Their service has included forcing me to give them a tracking number and check number even though I told them I always go to the local Chase branch and pay cash for the mortgage payments. They insisted on the personal information, then said they promised not to deposit the check, and told me to call in teller number and receipt information, which I did.

They deposited my check anyway, and of course, the money wasn't in the account as I had told them it would not be. I pay cash at the branch. Had to go through hell and incur fees because of their error.

Also, they applied "their insurance" when they said I had no coverage. I pay my homeowners a year at a time. They have refused to reimburse for that charge.

My interest rate adjusted, and I immediately began the process of working on this through modification programs. They promised both myself and the group that has rescue funds they would not file foreclosure documents while I was in the process of the modification. They filed anyway, racking up legal fees, embarrassing me by having the Sheriff bring the papers, and upsetting me to the point that I didn't know if I was going to be thrown out or what. My 78 year old mother had to sign for the papers while I was working. The group that has the funding also contacted Chase to remind them that they said they would withhold filing foreclosure until a decision was made on the modification.

They granted me the modification, would not adjust paperwork to allow for a $3000.00 contribution payment I could have received from this group even after I called and asked them to explain why they would not want a $3000.00 payment instead of $695.00 which is what they asked for. The $3000.00 would have benefited both Chase and me.

I received modification papers that had incorrect dates on them. They asked for the good faith payment by January, then called in November and asked where the payment was. I read from the documents they sent, they realized there was an error and gave me two weeks to get the money, keeping in mind I should have had until mid-January.

I had an appointment with the group handing the rescue funds and drove through a blizzard while on duty for my job...taking twin 8-month old babies to make sure the documents were notarized and Fedexed to arrive on time. The AKron group notarized all documents and enclosed "their" check and Fedexed the package.

They also told me that the good faith payment "had to be there" by the time the first regular payment was due...which was January.

Regardless, I knew the modification and check had been sent. I didn't hear anything from Chase regarding the new payment amount so I contact them. They first indicated they didn't get the modification back. The Akron group called and they said they got the mod but not the check, then they said they got it all, but at wrong address.

The Akron group, which has been helping thousands of people with these rescue funds, got an address from someone at Chase and mailed to documents and check. They mailed it to AZ when if should have gone to CA.

It arrived by the date they wanted it, just at another Chase location used by the Akron group.

THEY CANCELLED MY MODIFICATION. NOW THEY WANT ME TO PAY $4500.00 FOR A 3 MONTH TIME FRAME TO SEE IF THEY WILL GIVE ME A NEW MODIFICATION.

Now they will take the $3000.00 to cover the additional legal fees that will bill me to duplicate the first foreclosure, which should never have been filed.

I am trying to work with ESOP and supposedly they have a lot of power against Chase. They know they are fraudulent in more ways than this. I worked on this issue since April 08 and finally got it finalized, and because someone else sent the information to an alternate address, I could become homeless. I am 55 and work 50 or more hours each week just to have a place to live.

I had a appraisal done on this home and it is currently worth $60, 000 less than I owe, and part of what I owe are fees added on by Chase due to modification. Now they will duplicate those fees and possibly not give me another modification.

Their reps are arrogant and unfeeling, Nazis.

Anyone have any help for me? I owe about $125, 000 on a 69, 000 house. Would love to walk and purchase one of the houses similar that are now selling for 40, 000 to 60, 000.00. That would make my life so much easier, could sleep at night.

Please help

Terrible experience
In an effort to help out a friend we decided to offer him one acre of land. It perked, was appraised and was surveyed. The day before closing the attorney called to say a lien was on the property. We were perplexed as the land was all paid for and we knew Chase had 2 1/2 acres but not all 17 acres.

Over the period of one month many calls and attempts to clear up the situation proved to be of no avail. If you get to talk to someone they connect you to someone else, then another and another. You finally feel like you are getting somewhere.

You follow their instructions, one person acknowledges your correspondence and says they will call you back. You wait and wait, no calls. You call again and again and they instruct you to do the same thing over and over again. You get no where.

Our next step is to contact attorneys, delaying our effort to help our friend. Chase is trying to acquire all our land which is NOT what we stipulated at the time of our loan. We encourage everyone to read over their contracts and make sure all the paper work has been exchanged that needs to be as in our paper work not all pages were given to us. Don't be in a hurry when refinancing.

Extortion
Chase modified my home mortgage for 6.625% in Oct. When I received my statement the interest rate said 6.6.25% HOWEVER my monthly payment was calculated at 16.625% This resulted in more than twice the payment amount I agreed to in writting. At Chase, I talked to 15 people in 6 departments across 5 states. No one would either explain the miscalculation or be willing to start any process to remedy. I will only pay these bastards what I owe them on paper, nothing more. And I have paid, every month, on time ONLY THE AMOUNT I OWE IN WRITTING. So, now they are foreclosing on my home and I have to sue to get a clerical error corrected. No, this is not a joke. The amount of incompetance at this company will only be realized once you need ANY level of customer service. Stay away, go to a credit union if you can, borrow from a corner loan shark, you will be better off. Chase received 25billion of taxpayer money from the bailout. Can anyone find anybody who Chase is actually helping financially? Oh, sorry, yes, Chase is helping my Repubican congressional representitive Buck McKeon.
