payment letter
i had paid my balance off on my chase credit card on march of 2009 and i have called ucb 3 times to get my zero balance letter, and everytime i call, they are willing to listen, they confirm my address with me, and tell me that they will mail but never do, i think that's very rude and disrespectful because when they need to get the money they arrass people but after that they don't want to provide any services.

customer service
Hi,
Chase has the WORST customer service I have ever encountered. Every Customer Service Rep lies, lies and lies. I have been given erroneous information, forced to stay on the phone over 45 minutes, transferred up to 6 times during a call and still have not received the assistance needed.
Chase doesn't deliver the customer service that it promises and believe at this point Chase has even lied about the level of service they can offer.

Awful bank
As of January 2009 I noticed a $10 Service Charge/*Finance Charge* on my statment I had a fixed promotional rate of 3.99% on further investigation I found I am not alone. Chase changed the terms of it s agreement in breach and is attempting to charge its customers so it can pay back the bailout it received from the very tax payer it received the bailout from. i called and the rep was rude and hung up on me when I told her as a consumer I had joined the class action lawsuit.

Increase in minimum payments
I recently received notice (along with a million+ other folks) that my minimum payment will increase 250% on My Chase credit card. The only reason I used it was because they hounded me with great balance transfer offers. Finally I used the checks they sent and closed two other accounts. Everything was fine...until now. I never missed a payment. I was never late. I ALWAYS paid at least $100 more than the minimum required payment. So what happened? I got the run around from customer service and all they could tell me was that there was nothing they could do. The short of it is, they are desperate for cash and are trying to force people like me into default. Then my cozy little 2.99% APR will sky rocket to 23.99%. Then, to make it more infuriating, they lowered my credit line by $4000. So now I will have an over the limit fee each month on top of the exorbitant increase in my minimum due. Tell you friends, tell your family, call the BBB, do whatever you can. Don't let Chase get away with this!

Unfair Late Fee Assessment

SUBJECT: UNFAIR & UNREASONABLE ASSESSMENT OF LATE FEE
On my 07/08/09 I was assessed at late of $39.00 on a minimum balance due of $10.00. When I called to speak with a representative to negotiate this fee which was apparently inadvertently missed, I was told immediately that Chase is not negotiating any late fee charges for any reason. I asked to speak with a supervisor Patrice who condescendingly began to quote to me the terms of my credit card agreement.
I attempted to explain that I do not recall receiving the statement and that a review of my payment history would prove timely payments of $300 per month and that I certainly would never risk a $40 late fee on a $10 minimum payment due. Patrice just talked over and through me and clearly was not amenable to any common sense review. She told me my only option was to close my account and go into default. My current balance is only $200.
I am now asserting that Chase is engaging in unfair and unreasonable late fee charges. Their representatives are being trained to refuse to even listen to customer complaints because they hold the power over us to destroy our credit.
But what angers me the most, is that this particular card was issued un Washington Mutual which several months ago converted to Chase. However, I suspect that the only reason that I did not pay this bill at the time if received at all was because I believed this account notice was regarding my son’s Chase account and because we share the same mail address I did not remember that my card is now billed in Chase name.
This is what is most unreasonable about Chase’ position on non-negotiable late fees: Although at the time I applied for my card under Washington Mutual card, I certainly did not anticipate that this card would then become the property of another bank that would then change my account number and name of my card. This confusion probably led to this oversight and subsequent late fee assessment. Again, the consumer is left being charged with the full responsibility for unforeseen changes that were made to my account agreement without my consent. Reasonable confusion should have been anticipated by Chase and a fair grace period allowed suspending late fees until customers adjusted to this conversion.
I would like an investigation into this entire method of conniving and deceitful business practices on the part of Chase.

interest rates
I recieved a letter today stating that my interest rates were being jacked up almost 4% I have had my cards with Chase since 2006 have never been late with a payment or missed a payment. I have paid the balanaces in full on many occasions. They tell me that it is nothing i did or didnt do but the company has decided to raise its rates. They would not need to raise our rates if they would stop buying freaking banks that are going under. I was about to go open an account at there bank but after this I wont being doing any business with chase or any of its affiliates again.

Unauthorized charges
On June 2th, 2009 I visited a Chase ATM machine to withdraw $700.00 in cash for rent. As i was entering the appropriate information, the ATM malfunctioned and did not dispurse cash, instead the cash door kept opening and closing but did not disperse the cash. It gave me an error message and gave me back my card but withdrew the money from my account. And i've been having holy hell trying to get the money back onto my EBT card to pay rent for the month, which is now late.

Reapplying for student loan
I am so upset, I am a full time college student and every summer i apply for my student loan which is imperative for me to receive. It is the only way that i can continue my education. This year due to the economic recession Chase decided to stop giving out loans, although i have a 800 credit score, they will not budge they say i need a co-signer, which is not going ot happen. How does a company loan so much money go way over their head, and now completely strips away student loans.
THank you Chase because of you, i am not able to attend school this year. P.S my graduation was this May!!
NExt time you think that your company can save the world with loan and mortgage modifications, think about it!
These people are out of school, in debt college students have debt but if you read the Stats! They will graduate and get jobs that can pay the loans back!!!

overdraft charges
I unfortunately am a WAMU customer and that bank is being taken over by CHASE. I transferred funds from my personal checking to my business checking online and they didn't credit the funds for 3 days. When it was WAMU transfers between accounts was automatic. And yes, this caused a $27 overdraft charge.
I am transitioning my accounts out of this bank. I already knew about their dirty practices to gouge you coming and going because I used to bank with them prior to moving my account to WAMU.
If they buy every bank there is, I'll buy a safe and keep my money there.
