AN UNKNOWN ACCOUNT IN MY NAME
Dear Chase Account,

I have just been informed that there is a Chase Account in my name somewhere with over $23, 000 on it. This is messing up my credit as I have been trying to apply for a home equity line of credit and this card popped up. How can I find out what to do about this Account!!!Please contact my e-mail at [email protected] with any information.

Chase raising rates!
I have 2 credit cards through chase and have had them for a few years. I have never been late on any payments. I received a letter from chase stating that my interest rate was being raised and to call. When I called I was told that it was not being raised because of anything I did, just that I have had the cards for a while and they are reviewing all older accounts and those with low interest rates are being raised. I applied for these cards because they were fixed rate. Don't know what to do. Any ideas would be helpful.

$10 monthy fee and increased min pmt
I just opened my statement from Chase and was very upset when I noticed that they now charge a $10 service charge and have increased my minimum payment. I have always paid my amount due on time and in good standing with them. When I called they said that it was due to the economy. I agree that a class action suit is in order or at least check into it. It would be one thing if I did not hold up my end of the bargain, but I did. As soon as I pay off that card I am never using them again.

Change in Terms
My horrible experience with Chase is exactly as I just read from Richard P. Even down to the conversations an notice of "agrred terms" after the fact. My payment raised from $380 to $950 per month with a new $10 monthly service fee! My credit is exceptional to date with no late pays. Chase is forcing me to ruin my credit standing. They tell me my alternative is to accept to raise my rate from 4.99% fixed to 7.99%. When I took the draw, the agreed upon offer was at 4.99% until paid in full, 3% draw fee, and 2% of balance minimum monthly payemtn. All acceptable, therefore, I accepted the draw. Do they really have the legal right to make these drastice changes on accounts in good standing. I have never been late or over limit on this or any other credit obligation, ever! I have exercised credit for over 35 years! Chase is pushing me over the edge to possible bankruptcy! I hope the government will step in immediately to help the consumer.

changed rate
Chase has changed my promotional rate by adding a 10 $ fee and doubled my payment.

i would hope their is a class action lawyer that would at least look at the promo rate change.

interest rate increase
Today, I received a letter that they were raising my interest rate by 50%. Last year they offered a 'US Postal Service logo' VISA card to employees at 7.99% so a lot of employees transferred balances over to save money. Now that we have $7k due they are changing the terms.
We canceled 2 other bank cards when we transferred the balances and have been paying $450 @ mth to pay down the balance.
Our FICO score did not change nor did any other conditions of our family.
When asked WHY the rep said the company is making this change because they are not profitable enough on credit cards!!! But I always paid my bill each month before the due date, no late charges, no over balance.

Only remedy is to write to them to decline the change in terms, cancel account, continue to pay down balance until they change those terms and I need to win the lottery to pay it off in full. Did this instead of a home equity line of credit (prime is 4% today) because we didn't want to go through closing paperwork. They're making more money on us for cc interest than HELOC but they're not happy with that either???

Credit Card customer service
I had a credit card through chase and united airlines for over 1 year closed it a couple of months ago. They can not find the account! Despite that it has a balance due to me only $19 but still why should chase get an extra $19 of mine?

rep #1 on hold for 5 mins then transferred

rep #2 also unable to help on hold for 10 mins in transfer

rep #3 Not sure what to do transferring to a supervisor on hold for 10 minutes then disconnected

called back directly on hold 7 mins

rep #4 starts reading me information from an amazon credit card that is not mine but someone else who has the same last name as mine but different first name, transferred put on hold another 10 mins

rep #5 Emmanuel the incompetent in the fraud department this time. Insists that my acct #, name, address, social yield nothing that even though the card is cancelled they would be able to see it. Says he'll try the debit department it is not a debit card! But claims to try everything and I don't have a card. I tell him I have a letter from them on Chase letter head showing the customer service number I called informing me of the balance. that I have a scan of the Chase credit card, bills for the chase credit card even an Equifax report showing my chase account. He does not care, I am advised to go to a chase bank, the closest one to me is a 3 hour drive. I point out the absurdity of driving 6 hours when I can email or fax him information he does not care. This is the only step! Now I'm sure if I were to show up at a chase bank they could help me with a chase credit card issued through united airlines? Yeah right! thanks for nothing chase I guess you get to keep my $19.

Payment Protector
I was going over my credit card statement and noticed a 10¢ fee for a "Payment Protector" plan. While the amount of money being charged to my credit card is minute, I was pretty upset about the unauthorized charge, and being enrolled in some program I have never heard of and most definitely did not sign up for. I called Chase and asked them about it, and apparently I had been enrolled since June 2007. That was quite a while ago so I have no recollection, and this was my first charge for this plan, but I highly doubt I enrolled in any programs because I always say no thank you whenever Chase happens to be on the other end of the phone. The woman I spoke to on the phone promptly canceled the service after my complaint.

This is a rather small complaint, and pretty much harmless (10 cents is not a big deal to me), but beware of being enrolled into plans you have no interest in!

Floating Due Dates = Late Fees
I've had a Chase acct. since '06, with a due-date of 14-16 each month. Chase CHANGED MY DUE DATE TO THE 9TH.

Since my statement arrived at the same time, and I pay my bills on time every month, I had no reason to expect the due-date for this account to change. When I saw a late fee on my account, I called to find out why.

Despite the fact that I had a mid-month due date for YEARS, Chase said they can change my contract terms at any time. They claim "notified" me of the change when my statement arrived. The claims representative snidley commented, “You do read your statement, don’t you?”

For the record: I’m a AAA+ customer. I have a 760 credit rating, own a home, and haven't been late on anything to anyone for 20+ years. Chase upped my due date by a week, and then accused me of being "late" (by one day)? I've incurred late fees, AND my interest went from 0.99% to 22%. I'm confident it is because I have a 15K a balance at .99%, my account was "chosen" for a new due date. They offered no reason, no criteria for why I was "selected" for a new due date. Only that my previous interest rate was no longer available. There is NO co-incidence here.

The answer is NOT to give Chase electronic access to my checking account - Do these guys seem like someone who should have electronic access to YOUR bank account?

I’ll be writing to all state and federal authorities, and contacting others with similar experiences. Please contact me directly at [email protected].

Unfair consumer practices
I am a very responsible person with a good credit rating. Never in my life have I felt so unvalued as a customer, as I have in dealing with this bank. They are utterly ridiculous. They have claimed they did not get payments, or received them and posted to my account 1 hour past the due date. They are in essence scamming the consumer's, and we are helpless to do anything about it. I recently received a letter from them saying they closed an account of mine (which had been paid off and had a zero balance) because they claimed I had too much outstanding debt. Since when do we as consumers need to explain to a credit card company why we needed to make a purchase?

We all have choices. The only way we can fight back is to close their cards, and never use theirs again. That will be the ultimate message that we are the little people who pay their big salary's. It's no wonder they are able to buy out failing company's. We are footing the bill with the interest rate scams they are inflicting on us. This is an example of greed, and customer service at its worst. Not to mention, a credit card company who is taking advantage of the average consumer during hard economic times.

The bigger you are, the harder you fall.
