Chase Reviews

unethical practices
Have had my two cards originally with Providian, bought out by WAMU, then bought out by Chase. In the last eighteen months I have had my interest rate raised by at least 8-9%, with no reason given, other than "to maintain profitibility" on the account. Now i do carry balances on the cards, but i make more than than minimum payment required, never been late, never gone over the limit. In addition, within the last 18 months, my credit limit for both cards has been reduced twice, with the second one occurring yesterday(with no advance notice, i might add).my visa limit has been cut by 45% from its original limit, and my MasterCard has been cut by 56% from the original limit. The only answer to my numerous inquiries, were that the decision was based on extensive deliberation. Never mind the fact that i pay on time, never exceeded my limit, and send more than what is required. And when i asked this question."if your corporation cuts my limit, it makes my credit score worse because you are telling others i am have more debt that i actually have, because of the available limit, i got the typical "tough sh*t, it is not our problem" answer. absolutely disgusting. this company raped the consumers repeatedly, got bailed out by the consumers, and is continually raping us still. but i will say this, i took great satisfaction in getting both representatives to hang up on me instead of the other way around. will be glad when my balance is zero, and they call me with all the offers to increase this and that. will lovingly tell them to "stick it straight up their candy a**es"

Customer Service
Today (3/1/2011) closed chase checking account because chase want to change the regular wamu customer into their own rules. I'm over 24 years old and they ask me if I am returning to school then they will put it in a college fund with no fees but the rules for them stated that only 17-24 years of age. The really madden part is I closed my account but the rep (Customer Service) let me wait and cross my name out without letting me know about it and let 2 other customer behind me cut in front. Plus the rep guy who wrote down my account to close it but wrote in the wrong form (Deposit) and then he notice it and wrote on the right form (withdrawal) and then he throw the other way and my card without cutting it just throw it like that in the open trash bin. There more when I was still with them but I don't want to complain too much...

poor customer service
We have a home loan with Chase.. We over pay on our payment every month.. So if you can imagine Chase has no idea why we over pay and so the extra money is in a "holding pattern".. Now what kind of dummy would do that? I had thought bank people were a little smarter?? Guess I was wrong.. I further called Chase today to try and convey that the extra money needed to be applied to the principal (dah). IT TOOK ME 30 MINUTES BEFORE I COULD TALK TO A LIVE PERSON!!! And I think I had to lie, so I could talk to a real perosn!! All the animated stuff does NOT apply! When I did talk to a real person, it is just plan difficult to deal with "stupid". The loan is in my husband's name.. he gave her all the information she asked from him. I then started talking to let them know what we wanted to do with the overplayment. Oh well then I had to confirm the address of the home, give my full name, etc.. All to just to convey what to do with the overpayment.. APPLY IT TO THE PRINCIPAL... WOW.. Large BANKS have the worst CUSTOMER SERVICE practices..

Closing of HARP Loan
I applied for a refinance on 2 mortage loans that I have with Chase. This was first done on 11-30-2010 and have not been notified of the progress of the loans or as to a closing date. I have excellant credit and have given them all of the information requested. I have worked through the local branch in Peoria and they have been very supportive but am not getting anywhere with the Downers Grove office.

What can I do?

refinance billing for no service
like other complaints on this website, mine is with chase mortgage. I called them and inquired about a refi (current chase customer) I agreed to the rate on a recorded line with the specific understanding that they would email me the documents to sign the next day or we would have to re negotiate (the lender rep was jesus arondane who told me he "thought" the paperwork would be prepared on time to get it out the next day. It didnt come for 2 days. Rates were lower then. I called back and talked to shelli to renegotiate. they couldnt match the other offer I had. They charged me $395. I am in the process of a complaint with their corporate office. I will resubmit the results on this website

bad customer service from claim dept
On 01/04/11 they credit me $802.00 for my account for my credit due to debit card dispute. Also credit me for od fee, refund nsf fee. Two days later they did a reverse credit nsf fee, and a reverse credit od fee. I did a claim on t-mobile that why I call the claim office. I also complete the claim form online line, and receive the money the next day. I took the money off the card that day. On 01/06/11 I call the customer service check my account and told me I was $592.02 in the negative. I ask them why will you credit me $802.00 and than say a own them $592.02. I think not fair to the customer I think should do investigation first so you will not make any mistake. I feel I should not have pay no the $592.02. I talk supervisor about the problem still was not resolve. I ask the supervisor for the corporate office number he said can't give me that number. So i with online and was able to get our information our name, phone number and email address. Can you please help me to get $592.02 back to my account thank you very much in advance

mortgage scam
I ALWAYS make my mortgage payment via online banking. For Dec and Jan the payment was rejected by Chase for no valid reason. My bank (BofA) noted Chase did not accepted payment. Because the money was taken out of my account, I assumed it was paid. I received letters claiming my mortgage was in default. As soon as I was made aware, I paid WITH FEES the 2 months balance. Please note, it still shows January's payment as processed. It has affected my credit. BUT BUT BUT, here is the kicker. The SAME THING HAS HAPPENED TO A CO-WORKER OF MINE. It was in Dec. and he is at risk of loosing his house because the payment was not accepted. I thought it was a fluke with me, but now I think it's a scam Chase has to collect additional fees.

I've submitted all documentation to Chase. I'm not comfortable submitting here as it has my bank account info. But, I can definitely everything. Supposedly will hear something in 5 business days. I just want to alert anyone else who might have the same issues.

Yoga Commercial Is Ignorant
I was working out today and thought how dumb that Chase commercial is where the woman is attending a yoga class and has her smart phone on in the class and stoops down to make a bank overdraft transaction during a pose. Any one who has ever attended a yoga class, and there are millions, knows that we turn out cell phones off out of courtesy for others and do not distract ourselves during a yoga class. It obvious the agency that did this commercial never attended a yoga class and has no respect for yoga, except to make a commercial. A little, even the bare minimum, of research would have helped.

Charges $30 Fee to Find out Loan Payoff
Chase requires a $30 fee to find out my mortgage payoff balance. What happened to the good old days when we received a statement mailing after sending in each mortgage payment, telling us the balance each month? Maybe the mailing cost them money, and I understand stopping the mailing, but they should provide the info free of charge, or, ideally access to the info online, which the rep said is not available to us. How do I know I'm not being charged even after my loan is paid off? I suppose it's always buyer beware -- I should have been keeping a running mortgage balance tally on my own anyway.
