Refinance
I had submitted an application to Chase to refinance my mortgage. I paid $750.00 as the application fee for the same. They were supposed to get the subordination on my second loan from Sovereign Bank. They couldn't get that done in three months and now they are asking me to pay more. Why should I pay for their incompetence ? Please be aware of the following people at Chase (Steven Franklin and Sarh Pauly). It seems Chase just wants to cheat people. Any pointers on how I can resolve the situation ?

Liars
Chase intentionaly tries to harm families by raising people's interest rates and fees. They are evil and manipulative. Never do business with them. It is equal to a deal with the devil.

Loan Modification
I am reaching out to see how many others are out there like me. To make a long story short - Chase approved us for a loan modification in October of 09. This trial modification reduced my payment until they can get me into a permanent situation. All along I was told as long as there is no significant change in your situation, I can't see why this couldn't get into a permanent situation. Well I found out yesterday that I have been denied, I am now 4 months behind and they are demanding that I pay that over a 6 month timeframe. When I was trying to get an answer as to why I was denied, I was told we didn't make enough money. The interesting thing is that in January, we were actually making MORE money then when they approved us for our temp mod. Question is, if I didn't make "enough money" then why would they approve me AT ALL? I feel like I have been taken for a ride and that Chase put us in a worse situation that is almost going to be impossible to come back from at this point. I am seriously considering a class action lawsuit, but have no idea where to begin and how many others are out there in my situations?!?!?!

CHASE IRA FEES

IRA Rollover Scam
I left a job quickly after making two contributions to the company savings plan. When I terminated I received a rollover form for an IRA. I rolled the money about $90.00.
Each year I have received a $30.00 anual fee to have the account open. This fee is taken from the $90.00.
After realizing this and actually just wanting my money I called Chase to get the remaining balance. Chase is now going to charge me a $75.00 fee to close the IRA.
SO MUCH FOR A RETIREMENT SAVINGS ACCOUNT!

Poor Customer Relations
I just got off the phone with a Chase representative Clint - CREOVB not his last name his operator ID. Having been a Chase customer for several years I was used to the run around with customer call's being sent to the incorrect departmnet. On this call I was now being transfered for the third time. I had received a letter from Chase and used the phone number they provided if there were any questions pertaining to the letter. The operator Clint who is a supervisor let me know during our call that we had been on the phone for 7 1/2 minutes. I was in total disbeleif that any Chase representative let alone a supervisor let a customer know that they were being timed. That my value as a customer was allready at it's max of 7 1/2 minutes. I had valid questions. I certainly spent longer then 7 1/2 minutes while being transfered two times to the incorect department. Clint my representative was not clear on his answers. They only had me asking further questions. What came through with perfect clarity was that I was taking up his time and not letting him speak. His training on listening to a customer's questions was poor. As a customer service supervisor I would think that his job is to help the customer feel satisfied, important and happy too remain a Chase customer. At this he certainly failed.

bank fees
Something has got to be done about regulating the fees banks charge for checking accounts and non sufficient fund fees which are primarily arbitrary and designed to milk the public.

Based on a Frontline report about unethical banking practices, this is just another example of arbitrary fees and fines used to extort additional profit from funds already deposited within your bank and already in use by your bank! Due to non-linear transactions, uneccessary fees/fines are incurred that would not be if the transactions were handled in a linear fashion just the way you see your bank account online. You do not have control over this.

Additionally, as reported by Bill Strunk in the Frontline report, banks have charged customers billions of dollars in NSF fees for non-contractual 'courtesy' overdrafts. These fees are used to pay for so-called 'free' checking accounts and actually amount to more than a paid checking account would cost. And when added to a paid checking account, NSF fees combined with other fees will deplete the account!

NSF fees are unregulated and therefore arbitrary and designed to take advantage of customers because they cannot control non-linear transactions.

This is another form of predatory banking. Is it any wonder NO ONE trusts the banks anymore!
They get bailed out with our tax dollars and then proceed to empty our bank accounts. This is why there needs to be more government regulation and/or more government held banks (community banks and S&L) because big banks like Chase cannot be trusted.

We need protection from unfair and arbitrary practices like this!

Chase is one of the top most mistrusted banks in America and I am not alone.
The Least-Trusted Banks in America
by Jennifer Saranow Schultz
Tuesday, February 9, 2010
provided by The New York Times

Customers of the biggest banks in the United States are the least likely to believe their financial institution does what's best for them as opposed to what's best for the bottom line, according to a new report from Forrester Research.
The report, Forrester's annual Customer Advocacy rankings, ranks nearly 50 financial services firms in the United States by the percentage of each firm's customers who agree with the statement: "My financial provider does what's best for me, not just its own bottom line." The results are based on a survey
The bottom seven of this year's rankings, first to last, are Bank of America, Chase, Capital One, TD/Commerce, Fifth Third, Citibank, and in last place, HSBC.

Why the poor rankings for the big banks? "Part of it is that the banks are preoccupied with their bottom line. They are public institutions who are in business to make money for their shareholder and inevitably, that shows to customers, " Mr. Doyle said.
A high customer advocacy ranking means that customers tend to believe their bank takes their side in disputes, does what is right even if it's not required by regulation to do so, gives fair rates or performance comparisons and is clear about charges and fees, Mr. Doyle said.

INcrease in Interest
I inherited CHASE because i had been a WAMU card holder. I was several thousand dollars below my limit. CHASE turned around and lowered my limit to the amount that i had already had on the card. Low and behold the finance charges pushed me over the limit. AFTERWARDS i teceived a letter telling me my limit had been reduced. Go figure. Then they turned around and increased my interest rate at least 3 times even though i always paid more than the minimum and was NEVER late. I finally had had it and now with this huge increase in interest i am getting nowhere. Anyway the last increase i just closed the account and refused to accept the new terms. They still increased my interest! When i contacted themt hey told me i had to request that my interest not be increased because i refused to accept the terms. I had already done just that in writing. I am at my wits end with this very greedy company!

Increase on (APR)
I am outraged on how Chase is treating their customers. They have been frequently making harrassing phone calls morning, day, and night every single day since Dec.2009. I have tried talking to them, but they will not stop. It all started with that I received a letter from Chase in December letting me know that my (APR) was going up from 11.99% to a sky whopping 27.99% so I called them to give me an explanation as to why they had hired the (APR) when the agreement was that it would stay 11.99%., they just ignored it like nothing, so I went ahead and closed my account with them. And then to my surprise, the following month I received a billing statement that I had an amount due of $95, so I called them again and told them that I was only going to continue paying the minimum payment of $20 per month like I have always been doing, so they argued, and told me they were reporting me with a collection agency. I told them that If they continued harrassing me day aftter day, I was not gonna finish paying the credit card. But til this day, they put different representatives from their company to make harrassing phones calls every day. We are tired and hopefully they will go out of business for the way they treat their customers.

Customer Service
The employees in the collections department at chase bank are worse than 100 Hyenas over 1 lion cub. I received a phone call from a chase employer credit collector. My car loan is 25 days past due. I did not know this as I do not pay the car loan. This chase employee whose name is Morgan and I.D. # E259443 continued to harrass me on the phone after explaining I was overdrawn on my personal account and could not pay this payment. I gave him my husband's cell phone number who was at work at the time and unable to answer the phone. This so-called human named Morgan (employee # E259443) expected me to call someone right then and there and get the money from God only knows who. I told him I had no one to call however, maybe he should call our president of the United States to get the money from since he bailed out of the banks so he could keep his job unlike the majority of us in America. After saying this he informed me that he was marking my account as uncooperative to pay. I told him do what you think you need to do and God Bless Your Soul.
On another note, I have a second car loan through U.S. Bank. I had gotten behind on it 4 months after falling on hard times. The employees there were very sweet and understanding. They informed me that they were willing to work with me however possible. The only other phone call I received from them was a courtesy call reminding me of their deposit of a over the phone posted dated check I gave them. That was in November 2009 and I am still about 30 to 45 days past due and each month they give me a courtesy call to see if I am able to make some sort of payment.
The odd thing is I have my checking and savings account with Chase. After my conversation with the most rudest bill collector I have ever encountered, you can bet on it that I will be at chase bank in the morning closing both my accounts.
