Chase Visa Reviews

Scam charges
Be careful of 0% offer for charge cards. I took advantage of the 0% and transferred the balance of a loan to the account. When I used my card for new charges they immediately began charging interest and won't allow me to pay off the new charges. My payments are only applied to the amount that I transferred under the 0%. They are effectively making me pay interest on the new charges over the entire 8 months that I am being offered the "so called" 0% interest, thereby paying more interest than I ever had before as I usually pay in full each month.

Chase is not willing to allow me to pay off the new charges or transfer or credit the new charges.

Overcharge dispute
Like others complaining about Chase Visa, I too pay my balance regularly. I use the card for everyday expenses to take advantage of the perks. Nonetheless, my wife and I spend modestly. However, over the past year we have found how inept and incompetent their customer service, if you want to call it that, is.

I needed assistance with an overcharge dispute of over $1500. I contacted Chase immediately in November 2007 and was advised to dispute the charges and was sent the proper paperwork. Four months later I contacted them to check on any progress and was told that it looked as if I were at fault. The Customer Service representative recommended I challenge the charges again, my information was updated and the paperwork sent again. I resubmitted in April 2008 and seven months later received a letter stating that my case was closed because I couldn't be reached for additional information. What? Once again, we pay our balance every month and my info was on the paperwork.

I spoke to yet another person, this time in the dispute department. He said I waited too long to dispute the charges and, even with my file "on the computer in front of him, " he had no record that I had submitted my paperwork 11 months prior. When asked why I hadn't been contacted for the necessary information he said that there was an attempt made by phone. One attempt. I sent him the original submission from 2007, by now for the third time. Two weeks later, just in time for Christmas, we were notified that he spoke to a person at the company that overcharged me and their billing person found no error in billing. Apparently, they'll take anyone's word over their customer's.

Needless to say, my wife and I spent several hours not only dealing with the company that overcharged us, but with Chase who we assumed was taking care of their customers. Instead we lose, while they let the dispute languish.

Oh well, at least it wasn't identity theft. I just wish they'd stop sending us credit card offers for our business.

tlg*greatfn
I received information about GREAT FUN and I thought I might try it, but decided not to. I contacted them after I received a check from them and told them to cancel me. '
They asked if I had cashed the check, which I told them I didn't.
They said had I cashed it, I would have been locked in on the deal.
I tore it up and threw it away.

I received my Chase Visa bill today and they say I was late on my GREAT FUN payment. (which I do not have) This has increased my APR 3.00 points higher. I want my 5.99% back!

This is outrageous!!!CAN I GET HELP!!!

Scam and cheating!
Beware of how long it takes for Chase to post your payment. I mail my check out 10 days in advance. It has never been late but once I used a convenience check with a low interest rate, my check all of sudden did not get posted till the day after the due date. I was charged a $39 fee and my interest rate was raised from 3.99% to 9.99% which makes a big difference on a balance of $4, 000. I have had this account for 5 years and never had a problem till they offered me the low rate. Needless to say, I am paying off this account this week and will never do business with them again. There is no reason a check should take 11 days to clear and there is no proof as to when they get it in their office. You are at there mercy.

Harrassment
I have type 1 brittle diabetes and have been ill for over 3 months. I wrote my creditor a letter on March 8th with a good faith payment of $20. In my letter I explained my illness and lack of ability to work or pay until my Social Security application is approved. They have called my home up to 20 times per day for weeks now. My sister has taken their calls and explained the situation, again. My best friend has taken their calls and explained the same. Both were told that all I had to do was talk to them and the calls would cease. I received another call this morning. The agent told me I had to pay the full amount due over the phone. I explained that was not a possibility. The agent then said can you pay this amount by the 28th. I said yes, I could and would. She then told me I had to pay it earlier than what we had just agreed on. At that point I was getting ill from the stress of her harrassment. My best friend saw that I was becoming faint so he took the phone and asked for a supervisor. The supervisor would not talk to him and told him that we are not allowed to record the conversation. My friend told her that if that was the case she had no right to record either. I got back on the phone, explained my situation, again, she said the phone calls will not stop and all I can do is write a letter, which I have. So here is my question, how far can they go with their harrassment after I have promised to pay. Their harrassment raises my blood sugar in turn making my type 1 diabetes even harder to control.

I look forward to hearing from you soon. Thank you for your consideration in this matter.

Sincerely,
Shawna
