My husband first contacted Checkered Flag Auto Transport on March 29, 2011 about a pick-up of a car body in Fraser, Michigan to be transported to Poulsbo, Washington. Marc Zippert of Checkered Flag Auto Transport said he had a truck in the area and could do a pick-up in 1-2 days. My husband called Checkered Flag Auto Transport on March 30 to see if the body had been picked up. Marc Zippert said he was having trouble scheduling the pick-up. He called my husband on April 1 and wanted full payment of $1, 700.00 and said the pick-up would be April 4. I sent a $1, 700 check on April 4 by Fed Ex.
My husband called him on April 6 to check again and Marc said he was having weather trouble but it would be soon. My husband called Marc on April 13 and got more excuses. He called the pick-up point on April 14 and was told that Marc had turned the job over to another company from Colorado. After doing a little more checking my husband found that the company in Colorado was planning to move the car in a furniture van, not a car hauler. He then called Marc on April 14 and said that he wanted the $1, 700 refunded as this was not the agreed upon terms. Marc said he would Fedex a check the next day. My husband called him three more times and each time he was promised that his “girl” would call him with a Fedex tracking number. She never did. My husband called Marc on April 20 to tell him that we had not received the check and Marc said he would look into it, that there had to be some mistake and that he would call us back with a Fedex tracking number and that we would have a check by 10:30 a.m. on Friday, April 22. So far, nothing.
