I have placed an order with Chesssets.com, which I believe is owned by Netshops.com locate in Omaha NE (the customer service said he cant tell me who is their owner). The order was placed over the phone on Feb 14th. I was charged $88.25 for overnight shipping (20% of the total purchase price).
I received an email confirmation the following day (Feb 15th) stating that the 1 of the 3 items would be sent by 2 day ground, the other two items would be sent by the 20th. This was one day earlier than the “free shipping” that the company’s site advertised for regular shipping
I called the company requesting a refund and was put in contact with a John Fuk who represented he was the manager of customer service. The company said that their site stated the terms (my order was by phone) but they would change the shipping to regular and credit my $88.25. Later they called back to say the items were being shipped and they could not refund the purchase price. It is two days since the order and I still have not received the items, or a refund.
Since this was a gift, the need or desire to pay a premium for overnight deliver expired. Furthermore they shipped the package a day after charging my card and by two day delivery, not overnight. I believe the company’s site is misleading and was disappointed in Netshops customer service and policies.
