Billing
On Tuesday Dec. 7th, around 3:00pm I sent my boyfriend's father to drop off my car at the repair shop. The tank was empty so I gave him a $100 bill and we agreed he would only fill up $10 - just enough to bring it to the shop. He arrived at the Chevron at 945 Brunette Ave, and asked them for $10 regular gas and handed the attendant the $100 bill. The attendant began to fill the tank. My boyfriend's father then noticed that it was filling up to beyond $40 and told him to stop. It stopped at $44.06. The attendant apologized and said that the cashier had typed the number in wrong (we are assuming he typed in $100 instead of $10). My boyfriend's father contacted the manager, Jamie Costa, and he apologized but said that he could not refund the money. Since it was my car and my money, I came down to the Chevron to see how they would rectify the situation. When I walked in I simply asked the cashier if I could speak with the manager and he said "oh is it because we took too much money?". He knew exactly what it was concerning before I said anything else. I responded yes, $34 more than was authorized. Mr. Costa came out of the back room and I explained the situation. I basically said to him that I think it certainly isn't fair to be overcharged $34 and have to absorb the cost if the mistake was not the customer's. I have a myriad of reasons of why I need that $34, but regardless, this is simply a lack of basic customer service and an example of anti-consumer protection if they continue to operate in this manner. I have been going to this gas station for years because it is right down the street from my boyfriend's house. As a consumer I would expect to be respected, treated fairly and protected when there is a mix-up in which the customer is not at all at fault. The same would applies in my day job where I always uphold the highest level of customer service and that if there is an issue which is our fault, its simple: we don't charge the customer for it - I would not hesitate to make it right with my customers even if that means refunding a measly $34 (not to mention especially if they have spent thousands at my establishment over the last few years). I am not interested in the gas itself so I offered to bring my car back to remove it from the tank. Mr. Costa explained that this was illegal because it is a fire hazard. I understood this but then I asked him why he thought it was right to take $34 when it was not authorized. He told me to "think of it as an investment". That "the gas will be there in the future when you need it". I'm sorry, but did he all of a sudden turn into my financial advisor? Regardless if this is a good investment or not, who is he to decide where I should invest my money? If I choose not to invest it in my gas tank, what gives him the right to decide against that and take my money anyway? If it was a mistake on CHEVRON's part he should represent the company appropriately and make it right by absorbing the cost on their end and thereby reinstating my loyalty. I can say with all honesty if this issue is not resolved I am prepared to personally withdraw my business from this Chevron establishment. Furthermore, I hope to communicate my experience to my friends and family so they are educated to protect their wallets and possibly watch the meters so that this doesn't happen again.

Safety
Hello
Last month I stopped at the only Chevron in Snowflake AZ. I was filling up both tanks on my truck. As I usually do I put the gas nozzle in the tank and flipped on the auto shut off catch. I proceeded to wash my windows. The pump did not shut off when the tank was full. The pump continued to run and dispensed aprox. 3-5 gallons of gas all over the drive before I could shut it off. I immediately went in to notify the cashier. He said that the pumps were old and sometimes did that. He never ventured outside to clean up the spill, nor did he offer to reimburse me for the gas that was lost. This is unacceptable. The fire hazard alone should have been of concern. Shouldn't the pumps at Chevron stations be maintained so that the chance of a spill/accident/fire be minimized? Fortunately no one was hurt or doused with gasoline. I tried the complaint form at Chevron, but it doesn't seem to work

rip off
This station takes the cake! Just newly remodeled, it was my fill up stop. I had stopped in to buy water, ciggaretts and a two candy bars. I watched as the attendant waved the candy bars twice each, while looking at monitor he said that its not registering. I walked out thinking that was a little much for what I had just purchased so I went back in to ask for a recipt. He looked upset and proceeded to print it up for me while I was still holding items in my hands. Attendant took a look and handed recipt to me, I than showed him he had over charged me two extra candy bars. He appologised refuned the money and I left.

Tonight I stopped in for gas and ciggaretts, Gas $60. plus ciggaretts $9.58 Tax $.84 total $70.42. Swiped my AMEX and walked out to pump, Gas stopped at $59.71 I walked in and asked whats going? its only .29 cents but thats not the issue. It seems like you and this gas station has a habbit of overcharging people. He replies its a fee, I reply that I've never been charged a fee and it isnt stated anywhere. He prints a recipt showing 70.13 not 70.42 which I had signed forearlier! No Refund! I called my AMEX and they comfirmed the charge of $70.43 and attendant printed me a recipt indicating it was actually only 70.13 lie! I tooked the copys and attached. Next Stop CDFA(CAL WEIGHT & MESURES) & CHEVRON Complaint dept.
My concern is Leasure World, an elderly comunity that will be taken advantage of unfair business practice. (my mother lives there!)

Gas pump broken and did not stop pumping gas/gas all over my Acura and there was no manager on duty that could handle my complaint
On 7/16/08 I stopped in Isleta to top of tank. I filled up in Las Cruces (car was empty and took 11.856 gallons to fill)and was on my way to Santa Fe. I had a 1/4 tank when In exited the highway. I put in my credit card and went into the store to wash up and when I came out the pump had failed to stop pumping and was spewing gas all over the car and down the street(it had pumped13.106 gallons) I went inside to tell the attendant working and she said there was nothing she could do because there was no manager. I tried calling the station on Monday July 21, 2008 and all I got was this loud fax sound coming from the phone. I am a loyal Chevron customer and spend copious amounts of money on gas for my Acura Rsx and Mazda 3000, because we do a lot of traveling. I have never had a pump fail to stop when the tank reached full. Thank you for your time in the consideration of this matter.
