Sexual Harassment
I had an incident at chipotle about two months ago. My boyfriend and I are regular customers at the chipotle located in Torrance, California. While we were dining there my boyfriend went to get a drink of soda while I sat a lone. One of the employees, (who we later found out was named Christian), whistled to get my attention, I looked at him and he made suggestive faces, in disbelief I looked around to see if there was anyone else he could have been directing this towards. However, I was alone in a corner and he was targeting me. To clear up my confusion he whistled again and made other disturbing noises and faces. I felt disgusted and low. It was hard to eat after that, it was the first time I was sexuallly harassed to that magnitude non the less by an employee who worked there. As my boyfriend came back from the machines I informed him of the sitaution, Christian realized this and exited rapidly into the kitchen. I felt embarassed and I convinced my boyfriend to leave with me. As we drove home I was sick to the thought of being sexually harassed by an employee. My boyfriend convinced me to go back and file a complaint against the employee. When we spoke to the manager she said that only one male employee was dining at the table and his name was Christian, later another female employee who also sat at the table with him concured that it was Christian. The manager gave us her word that she would get to the bottom of this. Two weeks later my boyfriend returned to get food and I didn't have the heart to go in there after the incidient. My boyfriend was ordering and noticed the manager and the accused male employee, Christian, were standing side by side he asked the manager if she had spoken to him about what had happend, she didn't remember anything about what we told her, Christian however remembered the incident and smirked as he said that was a misunderstanding. My boyfriend got into a verbal argument because no one took the situation seriously, and was then asked to leave. The next time we came back to eat there we were told that we were not allowed to return. I was shocked to find out that I wasn't allowed to eat somewhere because I was harassed. To this day everytime I go in there to order food one of Christian's friends tells me the manager's say I am not allowed to eat there. As if I wasn't already harassed enough they feel the need to remind me of the incedent. I feel instead of harassing me more they should be apologizing for what one of their employees put me through. I would love to never return, but unfortunately it is the only Chipotle in my area. If immediate action is not taken I will take matters into my own hands by taking this information to a lawyer.
