I have been using Choice Cleaning Services since 2005, shortly after moving into my newly built home. Their unique selling point to me was the fact that they clean customers windows using the latest methods ie not having to climb ladders by using long poles with a brush on the end to clean the upper windows. They also use spring water.

They have always done a reasonable job, albeit a few times where I have had to call them back to re-clean. However, over the last few months I have noticed scratches appearing on my window sills upstairs and yesterday noticed quite a large scratch on my lounge window, which wasnt there the last time I wiped over the window sill. As Choice are the only firm to do any work at my property, it doesnt take a genius to work out that they have caused these scratches.

I called and spoke to the owner of Choice Cleaning yesterday and told him about the scratch on my window and also the scratches on the window sills. He said he would come and have a look. I have to say that considering I have been a very loyal customer, his attitude towards me was absolutely disgusting, and even though it was obvious he knew that the brush head had caused the scratches on my upper window sills due to the operatives resting the base on the sills whilst cleaning the windows, he would not admit to it, and even tried to tell me that we had caused the damage ourselves!!

Needless to say, I have cancelled any future business with Choice and also my standing order. However, when I called my bank to do this, they said that a payment went out on 29 December, but they have not cleaned my windows since then. I have left a message for them to refund this money (£26) as they bill in advance, but so far they have not bothered to call me back.

As a business owner myself (for 12 years), I find it amazing that Choice Cleaning can afford to upset and lose customers, particularly in such a volatile market, and where the competition is fierce.
