Refusal of Service
Made a claim for AC repair. They sent a tech from Delta BAP AC repair who after inspection determined that there was no freon in system, a possible leak. He informed me that he would have to call CHW for authorization for repair. DeltaBAP reported back that company had informed him that they were placing my claim on the back burner.
I called, they requested and I forwarded service records for unit, which indicated it was working properly in March during annual inspection.
They then denied my claim in that there was a pre existing condition. I was unable to contact anyone in authroity and they did not respond to my letters. Made a claim to NJ BBB, CHW responded with a complete fabrication of any of the details.
I called Delta BAP back and showed them the CHW response to BBB complaint, they assured me thatstatements attributed to them were a complete fabrication.
I have had the unit repaired, there was not leak to the unit as stated by CHW. I have had Credit Card Company charge back last months service charge and requested a cancelation. As long as I didn't make a claim all was well. They just didn't want to service their policy. BAD GUYS...BAD BUSINESS
If your looking for a warranty company ... keep moving on, this is not for you.

Non Payment Complete Lack of Service
I stuck with them for two years trying to allow for the human factor. In the end almost everyone of their employees are either uninformed or taught to go out of their way to stretch the case out. I was without a refrigerator for 9 weeks and eventually fixed it myself. One of the Appliance Repair Facilities is now coming after me for the full amount and I have to hire an attorney to represent my case. They don't work on weekends and at one time THIS IS NOT A JOKE I called to submit a claim and they said I couldn't because everyone was on vacation for two weeks. EVERYONE!!! What kind of company does this? The only thing I can say good about them is that when I cancelled my policy I received my residual of about $40 after 2 months which I didn't expect to receive at all. I could go on but really do I need to? If you have read this and some of the other postings and still try this company, all I can say is I can't wait to read your posting. The only way you will be happy with this company is if you have no warranty claims. Oh actually, they are very professional at the outset when it comes to signing you up and getting your money. Once they have it, they turn into a sort of Sanford & Son of Home Warranty Companies without the Son. What they need is an Attorney General to come down on them like a metric ton and shut them down!

Scam-tastic company
CHW is home of the swindlers; they strive everyday from 8-7 to steal customer money. We have been signed on with them for about 5-6 months, and on our very first claim they deny with various changing excuses. Our A/C needs to be replaced, ASAP because of the 100+ degree weather here, yet Choice Home Warranty likes to drag the issue out to over 2 weeks now, each week a different excuse for why they can't cover this claim. We provide sufficient evidence for their "maintenance documents, " but they insist we mail it to Corporate, which takes around a month to just review the claim! All in all, CHW is a poor company with horrible and rude customer service. I would not advise ANYONE to ever sign on with this company, and even have a firm belief that CHW should not even be allowed to operate business. After waiting 2 weeks on hold, we are finally forced to dish out the whole $3, 000 it will take to fix our A/C, all because Choice Home Warranty sits at their desk collecting premiums and facebooking all day long, with no care for their customers. Scam away CHW, scam away!

Claim Refusal
I purchased a home warranty with Choice 5/03/2011 for a 1yr contract. I paid $365.. In June 2011 have a small child and the A/C went out..the techs said it had a compressor that needed to be replaced..I sent in the required documentation and they still flat out refused to honor the claim. The customer service (Mike) was very rude and the Supervisor (John) was a joke. This company needs to be stopped and I am pursuing a class action law suite against them.

Don't Pay Vendors
ATTENTION ALL UNPAID VENDORS!!!
I got the same run around with STANLEY GOODSPEED. In regards to paying my company for Authorized work preformed!
THE ONLY WAY I GOT PAID ANYTHING WAS TO CALL THE CUSTOMERS DIRECT! I told the customers that their warranty Company has failed to pay the remaining balance and it is up to them to take care of it. "So how do you want to take care of this past due balance!" "If the warranty company and you both fail to pay, I will be forced to turn all billing and service information over to my Credit Collection Agency!" This caused an uproar with the customers, but they began to call into CHW in the masses complaining about why they haven't paid their contractor. Which in return I received a prompt phone call from "STANLEY GOODSPEED", we verbally lashed each other for about 45 minutes then was once again promised payment. This time I refused to stop calling unless I got in writing: The amount to be paid, For which invoices, and the date of payment. Signed byTroy McDermott

Home appliaces warranty scam
I am really frustrated to deal with this company, Choice Home Warranty (CHW), and decided to terminate my contract with them even if cost me $50. I recently purchased 5yr old home and my realtor suggested this home appliance warranty. I had this AC unit stopped blowing cold air. I called CHW to request service, a technician came and looked at the unit and told my wife, i am at work, that needs Freon and parts are dirty. SO i called CHW to find out what is next step. I was asked to furnish two year worth of maintenance records of AC unit. What? you never asked this when selling the warranty. Now i pose as new customer and called the CHW to find out what is the deal. After all the sales pitching i asked the sales guy how if they need any maintenance records of the units. Then this guy asked me what state i am from i told NY and he said we are doing business in NY. Called two days later same as if i am new customer and this time asked the same question about the maintenance records and asked me what state I am from i told from VA and guess what he said this time exact same that CHW is not doing business in VA. Isn't it scam?

none payment
I am a licensed contractor in Heating, Air conditioning and appliance reapair. I signed on with Choice home warranty about a year ago. They sent me to a job, And I got an approval over the phone to do the work. After about 30 days, I didnt recieve payment for the job. I called them to see what had happined. There office told me that I never filled out there contractor application agreement. "Funny", they where able to send me to do a job and do work. But when its time to pay, I dont exist!?!... After 5 months I did get payment. After all that, I didnt care about doing any work for them. I got a call from the contractor relations guy in january to see if I can still service there calls. I reluctantly agreed, the rep told me it was not normal and I would be payed regularly every 45 days. Its now May and am getting payments from January. I had parts I had to order for there jobs and never did because I was waiting to see if they would pay. To bad for the poor customer that pays for a policy and has to be put on hold because the contractor dosnt know if he will get payed. I have terminated all relationship with them and called every one of those customers and explained what was going on. Not a good thing for me to do, but am not gonna have the customer upset with me when its the warranty company that dosnt pay for claims.

Home Warranty
I just moved over from American Home Sheild to Choice Home Warranty(CHW). whart a mistake. I contacted CHW on a repair on a rental. I contacted the vendor to be sent out. Much to my surprise they declines my service call because they hadn't been paid by CHW on previous jobs! Nice start. Then they gave me a second number which I called. It went to some repairman working out of his house. Also disclosing that payments were very slow from CWH. The appointment was set for later in the day. The fellow never showed up at the scheduled time. Call the tenant at 8pm at night and wanted to know if he could still come over. Go with AHS. They are alot better although more expensive. At the end you get what you pay for.

Breach of Contract
After a year I made my first claim due to my AC not working. I had to call 4 different contractors they had asked me to call before I found one who would come look at my AC unit. All other contractors had very bad things to say ab0ut Choice Home Warranty company.
The contractor broke appointments, didn't show when he said he would and finally came in his personal truck with no company name on it, talking the entire time on his phone. After a 10 minute visit he decided he had to leave and reschedule to determine what was wrong. Again, broken appointments and finally showing up late he arrived. With in 10 minutes he informed me I needed an entirely new system. (the compressor is only several years old).
For the next week I supplied all information requested by Choice Home Warranty Company with regard to the AC system. Maintenance records, service calls over the years etc. I was finally told they feel I had a pre existing condition when I entered into the contract over a year ago. I supplied documents showing annual mainentance to the contrary and with no leak issues. This is a company who has an "F" rating with Better Business B. and yet stays in business. Let's see how they fair here in Maryland with our laws on companies who do business like Choice Home Warranty Company.
. Oh Yea "Have a Great Day", they love to say that as they screw you.

Illegal Activities
Signing up with Choice Home Warranty was a huge mistake. A couple of months after signing up, I initiated a service call. They denied coverage and charged me $45. I am sorry to say that I did not research CHW thoroughly prior to signing up with them. After they denied me service on my first call to them, I did more research and realized this company is a big SCAM. I proceeded to cancel my policy with them. This is when I really found out how bad this company is.

If you cancel with CHW, they charge you a $50 cancellation fee. This was in the contract, so I couldn't complain much about that. They prorated the amount of my contract. Since I had only had the contract with them for less than two months, I would have expected a reasonable company to refund the entire amount but they didn't. What they did next was totally illegal in my opinion. They claimed they had expenses of $55 associated with my previous and only claim (which they did nothing for me) with them and they were deducting that from my refund also. So they charge me the monthly fee for the warranty and then say that any cost they had for claims on behalf during the warranty peroid had to be paid by me also. So what did I get for the warranty that I paid for?? No service and had to pay for their expenses too!! This seems highly illegal. You can't charge me for the warranty and then say that I have to pay any fees that you incurred associated with any claims while the warranty was in effect. I intend to provide detailed information regarding this to the state attorney general. I think they will be interested in this illegal tactic. If anyone else has had similar experience, I would recommend you provide information to your state attorney general as well as the BBB.

If anyone is looking for a home warranty, I would recommend they stay as far away from CHW as possible. These people are highly unethical and illegal in their activities.
