Rejection of Claim
On 04-08-11 I filed a claim with the warranty concerning my A/C Unit. I had a tech come out on 04-09-11 and stated that the whole system needed to be replaced. On Monday, 04-11-11 Choice Home Warranty called and asked for records of maintenance otherwise they would not pay for the system. I moved into the house 08-30-11, the house was bought from a contractor. The warranty told me to contact people I do not know to get records about the unit. THEY REFUSED TO FIX the issue and stated it was my fault. THEY ARE CROOKS DO NOT BUY THEIR WARRANTY!

Ripped me off
I purchased two home warranties for $794. They told me I could cancel within 30 days for a full refund. I decided to cancel the next day when they incorrectly charged my credit card and wouldn't answer my phone calls. First they wouldn't cancel my order for weeks and then they tell me that there is a $50 cancellation charge for each policy. They refunded my money minus $100 and now they won't every answer my phone calls.

I've bought Home Warranty for $380, paid in full, and later received the letter from them with coverage explanation. After 4 month the toilet tank was broken, cracked, leaked and I called to submit a claim. Home Choice Warranty provided me phone # of plumbing contractor which I had to call. First meeting was scheduled, but nobody shown up. I called a contractor to find out what's happened. After my third call the contractor called me back and said that he had a case of emergency work and couldn’t attend that time. There were no apologies, or regrets expressed. I am usually a vey understandable person and we rescheduled our meeting. Then I received the email from Home Choice Warranty that my claim is denied. I called them to explain the situation. The representative was a girl, who was terribly rude and mean to my non-American accent. She finally agreed to relive the claim opened. On the second meeting, the contractor called to the Home Choice Warranty for authorization and the company said that toilet tank is not covered. He demanded $60 check before he came in my entry door. When I called them again trying to clarify what the TOILET TANK words mean in the description of their coverage, I have got a response that they don't cover the porcelain cracked. I tried to cancel this scam policy, but the customer service representative said me that is impossible, they can not release me after 30 days cancelation period gone. They don’t provide me a service which I need and paid for, and they banding me with this crap warranty, which they interpreter how they want. Ok, I was stupid; I didn’t check their rating, but other Customers: DON'T pay them ahead. I live in the USA for long time, and I had never had such scam, poor service here. They treat their customers as they want; there is not any coverage guaranties that they kept. Their main goal is to grab your money and escape from any obligations to provide a service. They are trying to find the reason don’t fix your problem. They discriminate me as a foreigner, hopping that it is too small amount of money that I would suit them about. At least I will try to suit them because I think this fraud must be stopped.

SCAM!!!!
DO NOT GIVE THESE GUYS A DIME!!! Learn from our mistakes. They have a "F" Rating by the Better Business Bureau and the State of WA has legal action pending against CHW (Oct 2010). It's a shame companies like CHW spend more time and energy trying avoid repairs than actually doing what they're paid to do. You'll call in and say you need a repair and they'll say it's not covered. They get very creative by mis-categorizing appliances to avoid repairs. These guys are a joke. Save your money and look elsewhere.

Complaint
I to am another customer that Choice Home Warranty SCAMMED. I held a policy with AHS for over 6 years..actually pretty happy with them...but their cost and service fees kept getting higher. So I decided to look for another company that "I thought" offered the same warranty as AMS. Well they DON'T. My story sounds like many others...I have a home that is about 10 years old...this is the reason why I like having a Home Warranty. I call Choice to file a clim regarding my Heat Pump. They send someone out to look at it (this man was at least 70 years old...and took about 10 minutes to look over my heating unit). I was told by the Technician that the compressor in the unit was bad and he would request that the unit be replaced. I receive a call from Choice the next day telling me that this was a preexisting problem. I told them that I had a policy with AHS before I was with them and if it were preexisting that I would have had them fix the problem. After spending hours on the phone with several different people...they finally let me speak to one of their supervisors. Besides being very unprofessional and extremely RUDE ...He gives me a bunch of BS about this being preexisting and they would not cover our unit. Stay away from this company...they are not what they say they are when they are trying to sell you the policy. Don't be SCAMMED like me...just say NO to Choice Home Warranty.

Illegal selling in Washington State
I signed an agreement with Choice Home Warranty back in Dec 2009, they suplied me with a home warranty that covered most major appliances and systems in my home. I filed two claims with them and did not recieve any service calls at my home for the said repairs and ended up doing all the work myself. The first was to replace the seal in my freezer and the second to replace the fan in my microwave which I was told I would be reimbursed for and have not been. I was just informed last week that Choice home warranty is not licensed to sell insurance in the state of washington and that the Washington State Insurance has issued a cease and disist order (case number 10-0199) to them. They have cancelled my contract as of last week and once I found out what they have done I requested a full refund of all monies paid including the reimbursment since they were not acting leaglly when the sold me the contract in the first place. They have responded by saying they will not reimburse my fees since they "provided a service" which they clearly did not.

Home Warranty Scam
I had a Choice Home warraty from 10/2009 to 12/2010. In May 2010 my A/C stop working and i contact to this SCAM Company. They senth some technician after 2 days and after that instead of repair they sent another tech for 2nd opinion. I already paid deductable to firt tech as it was part of contract. Now 2nd tech start asking money again. After 7 days they ask for maintaience document, which i provide them, but they did, nt repair A/C. They stat threatning by calling on my home phone. I complaint to BBB and their customer service manager offering me to cancel the policy instead of providing solution for A/C Repair.
Clearly they are Scammers, Only here to Collect premium from innocent people. Please check their rating on BBB, and read reviews on them. They are very Big SCAM, dont waste your money.

dont pay there contracttors
I have done 3 jobs for this company they paid the first one after 2months the other two that are both for $55 each i got authorized by choice 8-23-1-and 7-5-10 called and faxed them several times no response. lucky i only am out $110 hope to prevent other contractors from getting beat by this scam company.also contacting the bbb

service scam
I bought a two year contract with Choice home warranty. I payed all at once rather then monthly payments. I had a issue with my broken microwave. CHW sent someone to my home who told me the microwave was broken by normal ware and tear and they would order a new one for me. Two weeks later I call CHW to get a up date, they said they did not know who they sent to my house and for me to go ahead and hire my own contractor to do the work and they would repay me. the next day they called and said they found someone to come to my home and service me. the second man came told me the same this as the first. i waited two weeks once again for my new microwave, then called them for a up date. Then CHW told me it was not covered because my microwave that had been working fine for 5 years had been wired incorrectly. I disputed this. then CHW sent me a email telling me it was not cover because it was a preexisting condition. I wanted to speak with a supervisor and i was told one would call me back in 24 hours. i was told this 4 different times. They has never called me back. Now I have been trying to cancel my service agreement with them for over 7 month now. I was told I had to send a letter of cancelation. I sent the same letter three time, the last time i sent it certified mail. CHW still tell me they have not received my letter. Once again I have been told a supervisor will call me in 24 hours. In there contract it states I am entitled to a pro rata refund. So i guess the longer they wait the more money they get to keep ????? This company has the worst customer service, , , actually no customer service at all. I believe they are a SCAM.

I am a service provider in Texas who did work for Choice Home Warranty.I recently have been told my accoun was closed and would have to wait a min of 365 days for payment.I completed 8 work orders submitted for payment and after 3 months of calling and being told
1.Never recieved fax
2.Proper paper work not on file
3.Fax machine not working
4.Check is in the mail
5.Accounts payable department closed
6.Check never mailed, its going out next week
Now if I call and charge customer for work performed, it will void contract and funds will not payed, not that im ecpecting payment.I WOULD NOT RECOMEND DOING WORK FOR THIS WARRANTY COMPANY OR BECOMING A CUSTOMER...
