I have been trying to resolve an issue with Choosedirect over a hottub that I ordered in November 2009. I was originally told that the hot tub would arrive 8-11 weeks later meaning in February. In February, I sent an email asking when the tub would be shipped. I received an email from them stating that it would be shipped in April with no explanation as to the delay but was told I would receive incentives for being patient.
I was told that the hot tub would be shipped on the 7th of April and that I would receive the tub on April 25th. I did not hear from Choosedirect, so I sent another email inquiring to the date that I would receive the hot tub. I got an email back stating that the tub would now be shipped in May instead of April, again with no explanation of why it was again delayed.
I called the company and explained that since they have been unable to live up to the contracted date of 8-11 weeks and then again could not produce the product within 6 months, I wanted my money refunded to my paypal account.
I received yet another email from Robert stating that since the item was a special order, there was no cancelation policy. The item was not a special order but a hottub that was directly on their website and ordered directly from the hottub shown on their site.
Choosedirect will not contact you but will just keep delaying the hottub shipments and not offer any reason as to why you will not receive the item. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY! THEY ARE SCAMMING THE CONSUMER AND NOT PRODUCING THE ITEMS AS PROMISED.
I am currently starting a small claims summons against this company to recover the money that I have sent to them and attempting to stop the order before I receive some substandard tub.
