This complaint is very upsetting to me for it involves two people that worked very well together until I became ill. My name is Troy Lair, and I am self employed. Dr. Chris Chung hired me a couple of years back to work with him and his folks on scouting out property in which could be converted to a office based surgical suite. As most plastic surgeons can only really keep the cost of performing these cases down if and only if they have the controlling interest of the surgical facility that they utilize for their cases. So, he hired me to fly to him in Northern California for the day and assess the locations he had narrowed down to three, if I recall correctly. All nice spaces, but when it came time for the lease details to be ironed out, they could not find a common ground. It happens in business, no big surprise. So, Dr. Chung and I parted ways. I had satisfied the obligations of our agreement. A couple of years later, he resurfaced. This time he is living in Washington State and wishes to do the same. Having been made associate of the group he joined, he realized there were things of the group that was not working out and he wanted to leave the group and have his own space and be done with the partnership problems in medicine and money, i am sure. So, he was gun whole on building a new space out for surgical space. He asked that I assist him in assessing like before the spaces and to work with him to get the lease finished with TIs and assure that all his bases were covered. There were many things Dr. Chung was reminded of and changes were made to his plans of actual physical site specs that I assisted him at saving thousands of dollars and possibly causing problems with his ability to get it accredited. Dr. Chung did not hire me with any money this time round, he insinuated that I would get the contract to provide the accreditation should he find a space and be successful at working out the details of the lease. Ok, so I normally don't do business this way, but I really did like Chris and I really did want to help him succeed. I wanted to help him so much that when a surgery center in Los Angeles closed secondary to the surgeon being incarcerated secondary to three DUIs and so happened to be the surgeon of Kanye West's Mother that died 18 months ago or so... well all the equipment he had was commissioned to my firm to sell. This sell opened the door to saving Chris thousands upon thousands of dollars. But, the owner of the space said get a deposit to ensure he is serious about taking the equipment. So, I asked Chris to pay a $5K deposit to hold the equipment. He did and all was fine. Then there was the day that Chris realized once again that the lease of the space he wanted could not be worked out in details with the landlord, so it was a no go. Chris asked for a refund, which i positioned myself to the landlord of the closed space to achieve. The wealthy owner of the space travels often and it was a pain to obtain this back, but I did manage to do this. Then, I became ill with the flu which then complicated the matters of my chrons disease. I had a large bowel resection at the age of eight and lost most of my bowel. This flu nearly killed me with inability to eat and keep anything on my stomach. I was hospitalized on three separate occasions for dehydration and other gross symptoms. meanwhile, Chris is emailing me he wants his money. I of course did not know this for I was hospitalized. I asked my mother to check out my emails and inform my clients of my whereabouts. She wrote an email to Chris explaining everything in very fine details. She asked that he be patient, thinking this was the least he could do since he had not paid me a dime to do the work I had done thus far for his project. He took this information and blasted me on this site and a couple of others to include rip off report (from what i can gather) and 123 people. He plays the victim role in all this and has cost me thousands upon thousands of dollars in lost revenues from clients that have been scared away secondary to what they have read. What I find amazing is that he can sleep at night number one. Number two is that one would think that a doctor, a man of supposed compassion for the sick would have some mercy on me for my health condition and the state of mental health I needed to be in to get back to where I was. But, what he has done in defaming my character has only made mattes worse on top of the fact that the loss of revenue has nearly shut my firm down, a firm that has been active and successful since 2005. So, I'd say not only has he been uncompassionate for the ill, but he has crossed the boundaries of a business relationship by blasting me and blasting me with such arrogance and unprofessional- ism. My intention is to do no harm to Chris, for I refuse to stoop to his level of evilness. But, I do wish for folks about to do anything with this person to really consider the risks involved. As a patient, do you want someone who has no compassion for the ill to be surgerizing on you? for the contractor/vendor, do you want to do business with someone who is so cheap that he won't pay for you to work for him, and the moment he can destroy you after you already done everything you have and can because you like the man... is this someone in whom has his business ethic in check or is he a greedy ______ like so many other surgeons in this field of medicine. Those of you whom tend to think that attorneys are the ruthless and unethical professionals out there taking advantage of society..I pause you to think about this story. This is just one in many, many, many surgeons that really only care about one thing, THEMSELVES as evidenced by this man and my current state of physical and mental health. I have had to let go of this anger and frustration, knowing in my heart I did no wrong and realizing that Karma can be an ugly thing. So ugly to those people that do not practice out of goodness and compassion. I never thought him to be this way at all, but he definitely is on the bad side of the good and evil fences that so many struggle with every day.
