Due to a relocation of work I had to sell my home. I had it up for sale with Christies and it did not sell. I was forced to rent and seeing the Christies HQ were on the same block as the property I thought it would be a good choice. I thought wrong.<br />

They were quick to find a tenant and the property was soon occupied<br />
<br />
The house was rented for £700 PCM<br />
However I was only getting £400 PCM<br />
I was told constantly the following<br />
<br />
“The tenant is a council tenant, its confusing give it a few months it will make sence”<br />
<br />
6 months later I’m in many thousands of pounds in arrears<br />
<br />
The rent from the council was suspended by the council<br />
<br />
Christies did not inform me<br />
<br />
A house inspection was carried out on the property<br />
I have a letter from the agents stating that the house was in satisfactory order<br />
<br />
I inspect the property my self and find that<br />
The exterior walls of the Garden have been defaced<br />
Furniture is missing<br />
A word of an offensive and racial nature was spray painted on the garage wall<br />
The cat flap had been kicked though and broken<br />
And the tenant had been painting the walls of the house with out prior consent<br />
<br />
This I feel is not satisfactory<br />
<br />
The lettings manager avoided calls and would not talk to me<br />
<br />
The agents lent the tenant the spare key and did not make any effort to retrieve it<br />
<br />
In an effort to reduce arrears the agents were meant to insure that the garage is cleared out and handed back over to me. 6 months later, it’s still not back to me. It took a third party to inform them that the tenant had emptied the contents of the garage into the garage access. It should be noticed that the garage can be visible from the letting agents via a few meters walk!<br />

An eviction is in place <br />
And eviction is due today<br />
<br />
After a phone call to Christies this morning they tell me that the eviction is to take place on the 25th, which is tomorrow. I inform them that it is the 25th is today.<br />
<br />
This only highlights the incompetence of this office<br />
<br />
Above is a brief outline of what has happened over the past year. There are many other incidents of neglect and false promises all of which I have email evidence.<br />

Christies are totally incompetent at managing a property under let. Landlords please avoid at all costs<br />

The tennant has since been evicted leaving behind Arrears damages and dept on the gas meter. Has also stolen the majority of my furniture<br />

Christies still fail to admit any liability<br />
<br />
New evidence has come to light they claim to of used MARAS the referencing agency for the past 4 years, and the Lettings manager told me her self that a MARAS check was conducted on the tenant<br />
<br />
Maras have no record of Christies ever using their services and have certainly not conducted any reference check on the tenant<br />
<br />
An absolute disgrace to the Lettings industry
