I was swindled of my money by Churchwood Financial who had told me that they were processing an IVA for me and that everything was going fine.It was after I paid £596.75, on 27th Feb 2010, that I started getting calls from Kingsgate Financial who claimed to be Churchwood Financial's sister company and were going to process my IVA. I was shocked as I had assumed that everything was in order.I was getting calls from my creditors, left right & center because I had stopped paying Hamilton Locke, who were my debt management company before I tried to switch. Churchwood Financial claimed that they had contacted my creditors, which was not true. When I asked for my money back, I got a letter from Katrina Walker, saying that they were not refunding me as I was supposed to do that within ten days.
I emailed her on 28/05/2010 but she never replied.I feel cheated, I want my money back and I feel cheated after trying to switch debt management companies after being convinced by their employee called Matt Kay.They claim that I didn't claim within the cooling off period. How do they consider cooling off period when they were transferring me to another company I have never heard of and they never contacted my creditors. How shameful for them to target people who are already struggling.
