I just have to tell you what happened when I went to get my daughter's dress on Friday, April 20, 2007. First, the dresses are shipped in from different companies, ours came in from China (Landau Designer Prom-Pageant Gowns). Cinderella will receive them in shrink wrapped (plastic) bags, so the dresses need to be steamed and hung properly. My daughter's dress was not ready for pickup, we saw the dress and my daughter tried it on she look stunning in it. Thank you Landau but no thanks to Cinderella. The dress was wrinkled pretty bad, which was a problem because it was not ready to wear or take home. Not one staff bothered to communicate a delay or to me that I would be responsible steaming the gown, the mention that I take it to cleaners at Cinderella expense was a red flag!
They expected me (the customer) to take the dress (in the condition it was in) wrinkled! Oh, I thought how unprofessional and how out of their minds for suggesting I take the dress in the condition it was in wrinkled and hanging on a hanger in a cheaply made garment bag! Unacceptable. I was so upset.
I let them have a ear full before being told to pick the dress up the following Monday. I asked if there was a delay why didn't someone call me, no explanation. Just the oh well look. My daughter's graduation is Friday we should have been admiring the dress over the weekend instead no dress until we pick it up today.
Saturday my daughter tells me another girl from her school had the same problem with her dress. It seems Cinderella is taking the orders, raking in the money, and giving the dresses to the customer right out the shrink wrapped bags. Prom and pageant gowns, can you believe it! I'm filing a complaint with the BBB and consumer protection agency today. I hope my daughter gets the dress ready to wear as promised today.
WARNING: Do Not Take Your Graduating Senior to Cinderella of South Holland, Illinois. The aggravation and stress is not worth it. Go somewhere else where customers are truly appreciated.
