Manager
I am a employee of the Cinemark Century Theater in Terra Linda. My issue is with a Senior Manager who has been unreasonable with her discipline methods, and tired of the favoritism that I think is being shown in the workplace. While I do fully understand the Employee Guidelines and that I am breaking them, her requests are not backed by any of these. I called in sick, because I had a fever at 101.3 and she told me to get a doctor's note for that one day. I did not call out any other days, and that was the only one. As it was a Sunday she requested that I would go to the ER and pay out of my pocket just to avoid a write-up. Her argument was about how I had swapped my shifts several times on Sunday in the past, but recently I have not done that. If she had looked a little closer, I only did that to my closing shifts, and many times I chose to still work them. I was also issued one for something when I was off the clock and had managed to get mixed up with a customer, when I think for anyone who has a reasonable sense of judgment could say I was not in the fault for. This could have been entirely avoided if another manager had done their job, and yet me and the other employee involved were written-up for it. I've worked for this company for nearly a year and a half, and these are my first two writes, both recent, and both written up by the same manager.
Upon recently I was given a full amount of days, seeing as the previous manager understood that I wanted that and needed that. Now that this manager is in charge, not only are my shifts being cut, but only the people she seems to personally get along with are getting a good amount of shifts. I think you could describe me as a good working, disregarding my cell phone use on the job. (I don't mind admitting that) I do everything I am supposed to and more, and I feel like I'm being disciplined for that.

Management
This weekend 9/12/10 I took my 3 year old daughter to see the new Toy story movie at the Tinseltown Cinemark in Layton Utah. They send us to a theater where in the morning they show Toy Story and later in the night thy show Salt. We are sitting down waiting for the movie to start and the previews for the other movies are not kid movies, but are also not scary previews. Then the preview for "Devil" comes on. I find it strange that they are showing this preview to kids, but It has been a while sense I have been to the movies, none the less a kids movie. I'm new to going to "G" rated movies to be honest. Well the preview for "Devil" comes on and I try to distract my daughter by digging around and distracting her with treats.
Apparently they started the wrong movie!
If you have ever seen the movie Salt, you will know the scene I am talking about. Its the opening scene. It has a woman covered in blood in her underwear getting beat and tied up and eventually waterborded. It happened so fast I could not tell if it was another preview or the wrong movie, but I picked up my daughter and left the theater to find about 20 other kids standing outside the door freaking out. Not a good image for a 3 year old. Some employee comes up and said "it looks like we started the wrong movie reel." Seeing 20 terrified children in the hallway and not one apology from anyone. This is what really made me upset. Letting kids run a business with no personal skills is a joke. A simple, "we are sorry, is there anything I can do, " would have gone a long ways. I left very upset and just lost the $20 I spent on my child. I will have a hard time going to any more movies that are owned by Cinemark theaters. Not like they care.

Managers
Im an employee of the Cinemark in Harker Heights, and i have a many complaints on sevral managers. I am aware that managers are put in that position to keep things in order but all of our managers except a key few ( Renaldo Vasques and Juston Wittig) are constantly doing the complete opposite. They steal food from concession and list it as waste when ever they feel like it. They watch movies on the clock, they play arcade games while on the clock while in uniform, and they steal tokens. A manager by the name of cookie (dont know her last name) sleeps in the theaters on the clock. Im aware that some of them partake in the usage of drugs (pills mainly). Nikia Moses treats few better than the rest and its really unfair.
I would be happy if you could do something about this.

management
I was recently at Sandy Century 16 Union Heights, it was a Sunday night, and the management were acting very childish, I've seen them not doing their job, but this was ridiculous. One of the managers, a Mr. B was running aroung chasing the employees and hitting them with his laniard with no regard for the customers that were in the way, he was also taking the creamers from the front of the cafe and popping them on the employees. Then there was a Mr. C, he was going around to the male employees and hitting them in the groin area, he was also on his phone, when a customer came up to him, he didnt even look up, he turned around and told the employee to help the customer, and stood there with his back to the customer. And in addition to all that, both managers were very crude, and were swearing like sailors. I was very dissapointed with the actions and the childish display that the management showed that night. I also asked a couple of the employees if the managers acted like that on a regular basis, and they said that it gets worse in the scullery, they said that they go hide back there, and spray eachother with the sink hose. And speaking for the employees, those two managers are horrible, that they are hypocrites and that they get the employees in trouble to get the heat off of them, that they tell the employees that they can do one thing, then when questioned they act as though they didnt give the employee permission. I am over all very dissapointed with what i found out that night.

management
I was recently at Sandy Century 16 Union Heights, the managers were acting like children, a Mr. B was running around hitting employees with his laniard, and spitting some sort of liquid at the employees as well. Then in the same night, a Mr. C was on his phone instead of helping the customers problems, and also he was hitting the male employees in the groin area, and it was not lightly, it brought one of the boys down to his knees, and from what I observed it took the boy quite a few minutes to recover. In addition to this childish behavior, they were very crude, cursing like sailors. So in conclusion to what I observed that night, I will be ending my weekly visit to the movies at Cinemark, I will now be a loyal Larry H. Miller costomer.

Wrong showtime dates
I went online Wednesday Evening to Cinemark web site. Looked at showtimes and saw Darknight Showtimes for Thursday July 17 2008 @ 12:01am, 12:05am, etc. Called some friends and drove over to the theater excited to watch the movie. Turns out, the movie was not showing until Friday 18 2008 @ 1201am, 1205am, etc. I talked to an employee at the cimemark location about the situation. The employee said, that was the way things were done to avoid confusion. I told her that it was the wrong date being advertised and she agreed. Apparently not everyone is good with dates that include 12:01am.
Would anyone know if I can file a formal complaint for False Advertisement. Cinemark thinks is ok to alter dates and times, and confuse individuals who actually pay attention to correct dates.

Discrimination
I thought discrimination didnt happen anymore. Last night I went to catch a late movie with my friend, I purchased tickets online so that i wouldnt wait. So we head to the theather and since it was the last function, they where begining to closing down, and all the doors had been closed. However we were only 10 mins late and the movie had only barely started. So I go to the box office and get my tickets. Im standing at the door...mind you, the movie had already started...and a man who seemed to be of importance, is standing at the door. He seemed to be a manager. I show him my tickets then he looks at me and my friend, who happens to be gay, and he turns around and starts making jokes to his co-workers. He continues making jokes for 5 mins while we are standing at the door outside the theater waiting to be let in with valid tickets. He then points me back to the box office and i go to the box office and they tell me to "go in". We go back to the entrance and the man in charge seems to be annoyed by us trying to get in the theater. To my surprise and frustration, he looks at us again and turns his back on us again continuing to laugh and make jokes. It was very rude and unprofessional. Finaly after 10 mins he looks at us with an angry face, and points us to another door, we walk over there and wait again, well he never opened that door instead he opens the door we had been standing at in the first place. To make things worst, my friend who had driven there, ask the man if he could validate his parking ticket. Simple question right? well it angered the man and he loudly and rudely says "Well maybe after you get out of the theater we will". If I hadnt already purchased the tickets I would have walked out and never set foot in that theater again, but they where making it hard for us to even get our money back. As we continue walking into the lobby, the employee continues talking loudly and rudely my friends was so angerd he nearly walked out. Needless to say I didnt enjoy the movie and this morning I woke up with the bitter taste of this experience, I will NEVER go back to that theater again and am filling a formal discrimination complaint because he was making fun of us and he left us outside waiting while he made jokes to the other employees.

Not entertaining at all!
We paid $41 to see a performance of the Metropolitan opera performance which was 25 minutes late, the audio was not fixed until act 2 and there were 3 interruptions to the audio and visual performance. This was Sunday Feb 18 . We were advised by the theater to arrive early for seating, we did so arriving at 2:21, it was more than an hour to performance time. The entire experience was disappointing and we were then made late for a dinner engagement by 30 minutes. We feel we should receive compensation for this less than satisfactory entertainment experience. Thank you. Dr. and Mrs. Ralph Gwatkin.
