Terrible Lies, Customer Care=0
Circuit CityThis is a very bad thing, but there is no limit to their lack of customer-care or customer non-appreciation. They are terrible. Lets hope your children do not have car trouble in their presence. After making my purchase, I needed to use a phone book to call a tow-truck. No big deal right? Wrong! This was in the morning when the store had just opened, and there was no-one else around. Just the clerk and I. I ended up having to go to another store in the plaza to use a phone book; I did not make a purchase at this other store, and yet they were civil and humane in their efforts where CirCity employees could not conduct themselves and made every attempt to seek fulfillment in the unfortunate circumstances I happened to be in (Bad People). I was very polite, and made a point to stay out of the way, but the staff was clearly bent on being inhumane and down right hideous in their behavior. Keep in mind I was the only person at the "customer Service desk" and stayed out of the way. The clerk ceased the phone book and as an opportunist would do, he attempted to monopolize on my plyth in typical Cir City Fashion, making jokes at my expense. Sickos work There! I had been a long time loyal customer, Since then I have discovered their closest competition (BeBy) seems to be much cheaper (average $10-$20 cheaper) on the same items.
MORE Important, Prior to this I bought a Lap Top. It took several trips to the Store to get it, because the staff would not give me the Item. They kept trying to sell me NORTON with it, I kept explaining I did NOT want Norton and why. I just wanted the Laptop. Several trips back and forth to the store I got the computer. Then they wanted to sell me the Extended warranty, I explain over and over that I did not want it and why. They proceeded to lied about the Battery replacement and con-ed me and my dad into buying it (hassle free battery replacement, they send you a new one you send the old back, LIE, LIE). The lies resulted in me purchasing the Extended Warranty that I did not want. My battery is now bad and I cannot get a replacement, as argued by the staff (Lie) when I made the purchase. I have to mail it in and wait to see if i get one back. Not as described (Lied) to sell the warranty, and why I did not want it in the first place. Lie no "good faith" and hope to receive one back, this is exactly why I did Not want the warranty as I explained and then they fabircated (Lie) about the battery replacement process. I do not have a functional battery, because of the complications in dealing with the staff. They get Belligerent, as Liars do! Lies and violence go hand in hand, that is how lies work. Yelling at the customer is the violence and it makes the victim just give up. increase Profits, as opposed to honoring the warranty at the expense of losing futre sales makes no sense at the corporate level, but at the floor staff competing to sell warranties, it Dose. They are bad, shop arround to get the best deal, because they do not care about their customers in my experience and everyone (strangers or not) that I have talked to agree. DO NOT BELIEVE WHAT THE STAFF ARE TELLING YOU ABOUT THE WARRANTIES.

Scam and fraud!
I purchased a 27" Toshiba combo VCR & DVD player on 6/2/07 with the Protection Plan. The picture would start out very dark and then 30 minutes later it would be clear. The started happening in around the end of December. I thought the it may get better but it got worst. I placed a service call on February 5, 2008. Circuit City said that the third party, Jim's TV will contact me to pick up the TV for repair. Jim's TV called me February 9, 2008 and said they would pick up the TV on February 15th. Feb. 15th no one show up. The next day I called they had missed placed my paperwork. They asked me to description the problem with my TV. I told them that it was very dark when it first come on and stay like that for about a hour. Jim's TV told me that the picture tube was going bad. It would be no need to pick up the TV at this time because they would have to contact Toshiba to see if they was going the replace the part or replace the tv. I had to continually call Jim's TV to get a up date status. I alway said the same thing "Waiting on Toshiba to response". It's now April 10, 2008 and the tv is still in my house, break. I contacted Circuit City Consumer Relation Dept. They contacted Jim's TV to finally but a end to this madness. My problem know is they waited so long to get the TV repaired or replace the credit that they give me for replace the TV Circuit City don't have anything comfortable to what I had purchased. I don't want a store credit and I didn't want a gift card. I want my money back so that I can purchase the same type tv that I need for the amount of space in my room from another store. I would have to added an extra $200 to $400 to it something some what close to what I originally had. The screen size would be smaller and it would only have a dvd player. This is not what I need. It has been a nightmare. The customer service from Jim's TV was very very horrible and Circuit City service wasn't must better. I won't be purchasing anything else from Circuit City. I will go across the street to Best Buy.

Don't buy from Circuit City
I bought a car stereo at Circuit City and had their techs install it. Shortly after my new car would hesitate before starting, the automatic doors would not work, etc. I took it back to the dealership and they explained to me that the installation was poor. Instead of using the correct power conection, they spliced into the power wire, resulting in an excessive power drain on the battery. I returned to circuit city and it took 2 hours to get them to accept ownership of the problem and to re-install my factory stereo and return my purchase! Do not buy or have car equipment installed at Circuit City!
I sent a complaint email to circuit city and received a short "we will address the issues" eventhough I did not include the location of the store or individuals I delt with in the e-mail. Obviously they could care less!

Scam!
Upon corresponding with Circuit City regarding sweepstakes and giveaway, prize winners are available at their website. Continuing to notify the customer service and corporate office concerning an unfound website on register receipts will expedite the problem. Legitimate winners of these promotions continue to be listed. Persistence in entering sweepstakes, either by mail, Internet or phone is vital to receiving a prize.

Customer service/fraud
I went into the Circuit City Store in Modesto to order a graphics card, The one I wanted was $229.00 a lady in the store said I could use the computer online coupon and get it at a discount, they directed me to the computer, so I did, Well it came up as 183.00, still better I ordered it. When I went to the cashier she said if I would have had it shipped to the store I could have taken it right now, we raqnd it up and it was 135.00, WHat!!! SO I said ok we will take that and cancel the other one I just orderded, I am 15 mins from the store, I came home and tried to cancel it and they SAID, nope, it is set up for shipping, it showed that it wasnt shipping out until 4-1-08 two days away, when I tried to talk to the customer service reps and tell them i didnt want to have to cancel that on my credit card, they laughed and said they would dispute it, (SAY WHAT) I wanted to speak to a supervisor and they said they were in manilla philiphines, WHAT!!!, Circuit city out sourced its CUSTOMER SERVICE TO PEOPLE WHO DO CARE About customer service...Again when it gets here I am going to return it and walk away reassured as to why I left Circuit City so long ago...CUSTOMER SERVICE, once you purchace something and leave the store, Your screwed, I feel thAT THIS IS CONSUMER FRAUD TO NOT LET ME GO IN TO THE SYSTEM AND CANCEL MY PURCHASE. I INTEND ON FILING A COMPLAINT WITH THE BBB ON MONDAY

Deceptive advertising!
Circuit City had advertised a buy-one-get-one-free offer in their weekly flier a few months ago for an XBOX game. The purchase was valid only if you ordered online only. I made the purchase and I only received one game.
Calling customer service, they replied I would receive my free game when they had new supplies of them. After one month of nothing, I e-mailed Circuit City about this. Their only reply was 'free game while supplies lasted'. This was a blatant excuse and a rip-off of my money as I would never have made the purchase without the free game. Circuit City is off my list of electronic stores to shop at.

refused payment
In January I went into the Ciruit City store located on 1775 Dana dr., Redding, Ca.96003. to make a payment on my account, it was then that I was informed that they would not or should i say could not take my payment at the store level because the computer said to contact Chase to update my information on my account.
I had all my information at store level, why could they not except payment and enter the updated information at store level as they have done in the past, when the Store Manager new what customer relations actually was.
As a Store Manager myself FOR OVER 20 YEARS, the SOP is reviewed on a daily basis with customer relations as a number one priority. ie.. without customers, there is no revenue ...anything can AND should be handled at STORE LEVEL ...
The store manager would not even try to resolve the issue, his response was not professional, WELL I DON'T UNDERSTAND... AND JUST WALKED OFF...
I should not put all the blame on the SM for his actions, He is only doing things the way he was trainied by his DL and the DL is only doing things the way he/she was trained by the RDO, and the RDO is trained by!!!
The csr was was very polite and said i'm so sorry that i can not help you, and gave me the number to call chase.
The csr was more professional then YOUR SM. Because of your SM's lack of customer relations training it cost me a late fee for the payment I was there to make, and you know, my balance on the card was only 175.00 and I was trying to pay 75.oo of that...
Over the last 13 years my family and I have spent well over 30, 000.000 in this one store, because of the lack of training for customer relations, my account is now closed, paid in full of course and with a credit balance of 55.00 ., the credit balance should actually be 90.00, but because of your SM's lack training of CUSTOMER RELATIONS it is only 55.00.
From this day forward my family and I will not shop at a circuit city store again,
BEST BUY HERE COME!!!

Payment option!
The circuitcity has several issues. When you go on their main webpage they have no option to pay you bill. Last month I paid online on same due date and I was charged a fee. Another month I went to the store to make a payment at Aventure and I was told they didn't accept payments. It seems they make it hard for their customer to make a payment.

Circuit city lies!
I will never shop at Circuit City again. My family will never shop at Circuit City again. Your customer service is horrendous. Your "no-hassle" return policy is the exact opposite of what it claims to be. I was shipped a gift purchased on CircuitCity.com (Order #4431-749413). The laptop did not work. Circuitcity.com as well as two Circuit City stores refused to accept the laptop for an exchange. After 2.5 weeks of back and forth with your customer service agents, I was finally given a return shipping label. Now Circuit City cannot tell me if the package was ever received. I have called no less than 50 times, and NOT ONE SINGLE PERSON has been helpful. All I want is a new, working, functioning laptop (which is what I was supposed to receive in the first place).
I will not go away. I will keep calling. It has now been 28 days since the date of purchase and NOTHING has been resolved.

Worst customer support!
I bought a HP Pavilion Laptop with an extended warranty of 2 years. This protection plan offered coverage over any accidental damage and replacement parts so I decided to pay the money. I went to the firedog department located in Circuit City and they told me they were going to sent it to HP for repair. Three weeks later I received my laptop working correctly but I noticed the CD/DVD drive, keyboard, and batteries were replaced. Honestly I was not sure why they had replaced the CD drive but I let it slide.
1 month later, I noticed that my system was shutting down randomly and the batteries were not working correctly, so I went to Circuit City and told them what my problem was. The Techs claimed that it was a battery problem and that I should leave the laptop there for the night, and they would replace it the next day.
2 Days have passed and I have not received a call from Circuit City, until I decided to call them. When I call them they had no track of my laptop so I had to go over there personally. When I got there they found my laptop and told me they had to sent it in again because there was a problem with the ac adaptor.
I waited 2 months and honest to God I called Circuit City every 4 days trying to know what ever happened to my laptop. When they finally received it from HP, I went to pick it up personally. When I got there the tech handed me my laptop and when I turned it on to test if it was fully working, I noticed my whole Hardrive was wiped out clean, I asked them why this happen, they claim that they did not know why HP had done this. I told them about the important data, and college work I had on that laptop, and I requested to speak with a manager.
The manager told me he couldn't do anything to help me, he told me he was not aware why HP would even consider wiping out a hardrive. Honestly I am very disappointed with the service I received. I payed the extra money to get the best service and they tell me they can't help me? If anyone is reading this, please keep away from Circuit City, they offer the worst customer support!
