CITGO Reviews

Incorrect Change
I filled my car for $30. It stopped filling at $22. So CITGO had to return me $8. Well it was no use they insisted I had used all the money that it all had costed $30. I told them my car was full at $22 and that this is what the pump actually marked. It was no use. They did not give me my $8 dollars.

I will NOT use a CITGO gas station ever again.

Bad fuel broke car
I fueled my truck at CITGO. Ten minutes into the road, a white smoke came out of my engine. Mechanics said the fuel from CITGO had corrosive elements. It was useless complaining to CITGO. A total waste of time. A word of advice, avoid CITGO.

Broken pumps
Standing in 15-degree weather, I got authorized to pump gas -- pump handle broken, it took me fifteen minutes for two gallons to be dispensed into my tank. Ridiculous. I complained inside -- it was freezing, couldn't lock the handle to auto-pump, absurdly slow fuel rate -- and the employee laughed and said, "yeah, yeah, yeah -- we've had a problem on that pump for years!" Never again. See ya Citgo!

CITGO sold me bad fuel that killed my car
CITGO sold me bad fuel that killed my car. This CITGO gas station is on the Florida Turnpike before reaching Miami (from the North). CITGO refuses to compensate me. It was pretty expensive getting that engine fixed. Don't buy CITGO gas.

cloned credit card
I filled my car with gas at a CITGO station just outside of Orlando FL and since I had no cash I paid with my credit card. I found out a couple of days later that my credit card was cloned as someone else was making unauthorized purchases with it. I had to cancel my credit card and have a new one reissued. A total pain.

contaminated fuel
Be careful with fuel sold at CITGO gas stations. CITGO sells contaminated fuel. I had problems with my car on two occassions. Apparently citgo fuel has high levels of water mixed in and can damage the car.

Bad fuel
At the end of August 2009, I was driving my Honda on Oklahoma and went to a CITGO gas station to replenish my car's fuel. The next day, I had trouble turning on the car. After having to tow it to the Honda car service for having it checked / fixed by the mechanics in there, it turned out that most of the gasoline I got from CITGO had high amounts of water and that is what caused all the trouble. CITGO provides bad fuel so beware of it.

Irresponsible staff
Some days ago I fueled at a CITGO station. When I came to pay, there was nobody available at the cashier. Then some woman reluctantly came and I gave her a $20 bill, but I meant to pay $6. She then began saying she could not give me back the other $14 and we had kind of an argument in there for some five minutes. I finally grabbed my money and went to fuel elsewhere. CITGO offers bad service.

Contaminated Fuel
Me and a friend constantly use a small pickup truck in the Miami area. One day we had to move some stuff to Homestead and along the way we needed to refuel, and we did so at a CITGO gas station. After we refueled, the truck continued working fine for about half an hour. Then it began to make noises and not to respond so well, so we eventually had it checked and it turned out that the fuel we filled it with had lots of water. The CITGO personel / management in there didn't care about this when we came back there some days after, despite the fact that it costed some cash to repair our pickup truck.

Avoid CITGO gas stations if you can. Having your car filled with contaminated fuel can cause expensive damages.

Contaminated Fuel
Three weeks ago I filled my Nissan at a CITGO in the U.S. 1 (Miami) and about five minutes after I left my car began to have problems and it stopped moving. I had to get help to tow it away from the main road, and later on at the mechanic it turned out that the gas I had just filled my car with had a huge amount of water. The CITGO gas station refused to do anything about it. I guess I won't fuel up my car at any of their stations anymore.
