Citibank does not send statements and levies huge fee!
I made a purchase of only Rs.3000/- on my citibank credit card but the bank did not send me any statement. Upon calling them I was told that the statement had been dispatched. They said that they will send another one and so this time I got it.
To my dismay, I noticed that they levied a penalty of "late payment " in addition to interest payable by me. So, my purchase of 3000/- cosed me around 3800/-.

Banks are making huge amount of money through this route while the poor Indian customer is being fleeced. I hope they are penalized severely for the malpractice.

Lack of 24 hour fraud line!
I found out today (the hard way naturally) that Citibank does not offer a 24-hour Fraud line for it's credit cards. You can now only report a lost card, fraud or seek help between 8 am and midnight EST. The web site is however still advertising 24 hour support, and I have never seen any communications from the bank canceling the 24 hour help lines.

This blatant cost cutting exercise clearly reduces the level of service to the customer and also raises the risk of fraud. Who is liable for a card lost at 3am in California, which can not be reported until 11pm the following morning?

Citibank cards should therefore not be relied up on for any sort of international travel as most countries tend to operate on different times to EST. Nor should you consider using or owning a Citibank card anywhere West of the Appalachians. Those lucky enough to live in the EST time zone should be very careful only to travel or use the card during office hours.

Receiving about 5 calls in a day regarding personal loan inspite of telling them 'I am not interested'
I get about 4 to 5 calls in a day from Citibank asking me for applying for personal loan inspite of telling them many a times that I am not interested. I have got Airtel number & my number is 9880780676. I am a resident of Bangalore. I work for an ITES company & many a times I will be busy in meetings & conference calls & suddenly I get calls from these marketing companies (mostly Citibank), I take a break from meeting to answer the cal thinking it can be some emergency. You never know who calls from which number in case of emergencies. I am facing a lot of inconveniences & have missed some important calls because of citibank calling me again & again. I want Citibank pay the prize for it's ruthless act of giving unexpected calls & creating disturbance. I also get these calls when I am at home on weekends when I will be sleeping.

Fraud and cheating!
Somebody has called me today from Citibank asking money for no-dues certificate for a card that my father was using 10 years back. After paying all the dues we closed the card, but bank kept on sending the statements of dues which we have told customer care about and they specifically said that this card has been closed and you don't have to pay. these statements are system generated.

Now today, somebody named " PREETI " claiming to be manager of no dues department in citibank asked me that you have to pay Rs. 2000 for a no dues certificate. She has told me that if i don't pay that legal notices will be sent to my house. Her number i am mentioning here so that in case some Citibank Official reds it he should have the full information. Her number is "011-41410061".

Interest charged without information provided
Few days back I enrolled for Ready to Credit facility provided by CITI Bank. After some days, I found that I am not able to view my actual account balance in Transaction slips of ATM. So, I called to CITI Bank on 020 66012484 and Talk to CSR for the same. I asked her to cancel my Ready to Credit facility. She asked me to follow the steps. I done as per she said. She asked me to GO to Fund transfer >> My CitiBank Account to Another Linked Citibank account of mine. And I confirm the same. She said me that The Ready To Credit facility will be closed for me. I was relaxed by now.

Now, today, when I login and found that my account is debited with 755.92 Rs. Talking to CSR for the same, said that its an interest for the amount. I am confused and frustrated. Beware!

Debit card account closed
Citibank is serving very poor to the customers. I have a suvidha debit card with that bank. That account has been closed without any intimation. There was some amount in that account, to get that amount its happened more than one month. I roamed several times to that Bank in Begumpet in Hyderabad. I also heard there is some contradiction with Indian government, because of that ECS is also becoming very problem in that bank. Please be careful while you are contacting this bank.

Lack of professionalism and financial misconduct
Dear All,

This past one year has been one of the toughest one (financially) for me.

All this has started to happen after (what I believe) someone sitting in citibank bangalore (almost 2 yrs ago) started screwing with my account on God knows what prejudice.

They mishandled my citibank Gold credit card ... that caused me a hugh loss.

They mishandled my Suvidha acount on pretext of above.

They mishandled my Suvidha Account due to Ready Credit.

and they are doing it still ....

Citibank has been making unjustified withdrawals from my account on some or the other pretext.

Citibank has kept me ill informed about the transactions. They keep tinkering with the records. They provide extremely delayed and illogical explanations (or statements) in response to my detailed and specific query.

I want to file a formal complaint (consumer forum or elsewhere) regarding this and seek financial redressal from them.

Please guide me regarding the same and/or provide me with some contacts in order to effect the same.

Very irresponsible bank
Hi, I am putting my suggestion rather than complaint (because If we make a complaint, atleast it get resolved after some time). If you are looking for Personal Loan then don't take from citiBank, taking Loan from citiBank is very pathetic job. Agent coming from citiBank is really very irresponsible. (For Hyderabad people-don't take loan from a person called SANTOSH)

Poor service!
I stay at Kalyan and I have an account with HDFC Bank Kalyan branch (branch code 194) which support National Electronics Fund Transfer (RBI - NEFT) from any branch. I have transferred funds to and from this branch earlier.

When I tried to transfer some money using the NEFT option in CITIBANK online netbanking, it refused saying that WE CURRENTLY DO NOT HAVE THIS FACILITY TO THIS BRANCH YOU HAVE SELECTED.

Since with RBI - NEFT a bank has to send money to RBI for clearance and then RBI sends money to the destination bank, there is no question of refusing services to a specific branch of a specific bank.

CitiBank is violating RBI rules in India which is not only inconvenient but causes severe problems as I have to transfer the funds using cheques which takes 4 days as opposed to the FASTEST NEFT transfer which takes 1 business day for private to private bank transfer and 3 days for private to nationalized bank transfer.

Citibank officials please look into this and enable NEFT transfers to the KALYAN branch of HDFC BANK otherwise I have to send you a legal notice since the online netbanking says that you can transfer money via NEFT to any bank and any branch.

Forcing to take the medical insurance
I received a call from 91-44-43960700 and he was saying about the CITIBANK medical insurance facility and was forcing me to pay the premium. Since I told that I do not need any medical insurance after a very long compulsion he scolded me and disconnected the call abruptly. I have tried calling the no. many a times but did not get connected. The above no. belongs to Airtel Landline and I have confirmed the same through the customer care. When I try asking their address to the Customer care, they say it is secured and we will not leak it at any time. I don't understand what is the need of giving secure to such no's, to promote their third grade speech.
