Citibank has totally ignored my letters by not replying to them
The complaint is a credit card charge dispute.
I have mailed two letters via certified mail with return receipt requests to Citibank's Billing Error Department in West Des Moines, IA. The letters have been sent over the past 90 days.
Prior to mailing letters I had talked with numerous Citibank representatives by phone and finally was given a name and address to mail my dispute letter to.
Citibank has totally ignored my letters by not replying to them.
According to the Fair Credit Billing Act, Citibank is in violation of the law by not responding to my letters.
Citibank has no regard for its customers and its "Customer Service" is virtually nonexistent!

I am still waiting for my $150.00
They advertised that they would fund $150.00 into my checking account if I would open and fund an internet checking account with at least $2000.00 and pay two bills using their bill paying service.
I funded the account on April 29, and have paid numerous bills via the internet using my Citibank online checking account.
I am still waiting for my $150.00.

They have got to be total rip-off artists
They send me this "offer" for their Credit Card -- which I do not need.
Then, in the fine print, they say if I am late on any of my other debts -- which NEVER happens -- they will raise my interest rate.
They have got to be total rip-off artists. I say drop dead, CITIBANK.

Stay away from these guys
Due to pay off the amount owed, I closed the account. I received a call from the collection department with an offer that if I paid a higher monthly amount with automatic withdrawal, they would drop the interest rate to 7.5%. In the next months I did contact the bank to advise them that I had closed the bank account and that I like to provide an alternate bank account which they had failed to note in the system.
Consequently the withdrawal turned out to be "account closed". The deal was off and, in the meantime, they raised the monthly interest rate to 31% and nor matter what I do, the monthly payment is only $25.00 toward the payoff and $575.00 toward the interests.

CitiBank has problems with posting payments to it credit cards
I have mailed in payments twice and it is taking nine to ten days to post. Then they charge a late charge.
I take this to be a scam and it fouls up people's credit ratings.
My third payment is my final payment. I will never use a CitiBank card again. I am waiting for my final statement which will no doubt have a late charge since it has been 8 days ago -- one day past the due date and my check has not cleared my bank.
Shoddy business is not the word.

Citibank failed to apply an online payment from Citibank checking to CitiFinancial Mortgage on time
They held onto the payment for over two weeks before posting it to my account, sending me a late notice and collecting more interest.
The Research Department either didn't fully read my complaint or lost the proof of payment that I faxed.
Citibank statement -- online payments generate no checks, so they sent me a form letter that does not apply asking me to contact Bonita Kenney of the Research Services Department.
After having left Bonita Kenney five phone messages over three days, I got zero phone calls back. Although she logged into the Citibank computer that she did call me once. She did not, as my cell phone and home phone logs all incoming calls and no messages were left.
Of course, the Research Department has no managers (I asked), no names of supervisors, and just forwards you to another voice mail box.

Citibank needs to increase the size of the fine print
Citibank, it seems, just started charging its customers $5.00 as the fee for each overdraft transfer.
That's fine; it's a business and Citibank wants to make more money.
But, how did they notify its customers about this new charge? In a little paragraph on a monthly account statement.
This is the paragraph that normally tells customers about Citibank's other services to solicit more business.
This is not sufficient notification!
It is downright dishonest!

Never Used Card Or Activated
i have gotten a citibank card in the mail in 2008 and i have never used the card nor activated the card as a result they still lached on the payment for the unused card which was not used or activated
citibank can and will be idiots all the time

Mediocre service
A while back last year, I thought of starting my own ebay business and bought some hair irons from China, not realizing they are fake. I bought these with citibank and Chase credit card. To my horror, the brand name owner found out, try to sue me and threatened me to pay up everything I made including the cost of buying the items. I had to no choice but to pay up everything.
So I decided to dispute the charge for the fake materials that I purchased with both citi and Chase credit card at least to get my money back even if I am not making profit. Chase handled it very professionally and got it done so easy! I sent the proof paperwork and I got my money back from Chinese counterfeiters within a month. Citi bank put me through a long painful process. They lost the proof paperwork that I sent. When I called, different staff said different things of how to submit this damn freaking paperwork. Even when I talked to the so-called supervisor, he said another thing a completely different thing from other staffs. At the end, I don't even know who to believe anymore. So I tried my best to get the paperwork through. After several conversations and yelling and frustrations, they finally got my paperwork. They gave me temporary credit back. I thought the deal is over at that time.
After one month, I got another letter from them saying they actually reverse the charge back. After all that painful and unprofessional process they got me through, they won't even stand from my side. No wonder the bank is going down. The way they do their business and their culture of work is just plain wrong. They will totally be in deep hell hole if it's not for government's bailout with tax payer money. F**k Citi.
