Did not give my approved loan for not buying optional benefits
I applied online, got approved later, took all the papers to collect my loan and got kicked off for not buying optional insurances. it took me 2 hours to fight with the employee for not convincing on his offer to purchase those. at the end i told if have to buy those, i wont get the loan. he returned my papers and didnt get approved loan. i was so frustrated on his service and cheating behavior. i am talking about salt lake brunch on 2100 south right by the best buy. please nobody go there. they are just hijacking your identity.

$5,000 Loan jacked up to $10,000 due to interest
My father took the loan for me originally in order to buy a car for me. It was a $5, 000 cash loan. I don't know the interest and I don't know the details, I just remember telling him I didn't want it and he got it anyway. The car cost us $3, 500 and Ive paid about $3, 500 in repairs, replacing parts and getting it back on the road 3 times.

Well with Interest over 5 years I owe CitiFinacial $10, 000 total.

I make payments of $222.00 a month which is the minimum as its all I can afford.

A few months after the original loan he took another $1, 200 I think which added more interest of course but again I don't know the details

After about 2 and a half years of payments I'm down to $6, 409.96

Now my complaint is, was it right and legal for them to give us a loan of $5, 000 and then add $5, 000 in interest? That seems to be 100% interest and I thought that was illegal. Am I right in thinking this or should I just suck up the biggest mistake of my life and keep giving these crooks my money?

Predatory Loans
These crooks solicit their business through regular mail, usually in some bright colored envelope, promising the consumer the utopia of extra cash, for whatever reason they deem necessary.

What they don't tell you in their hyped mailings is the incredibly high interest rates these predators actually charge.

Another ploy they use is to offer extra cash, basically by refinancing the original loan, and if able, they will charge an even at a higher interest rate than the first loan.

It's practices like this, that have bogged down the consumer in an endless spiral of exploitation.

Steer away from Citifinancial at all cost, even if you have to walk the streets to make money, and ironically, they are no better than pimps, to a consumer.

Loan
I took out a loan a year ago from citifinancial. I am paying a rediculous raqte on the loan. I inquired about the pay off of the loan. I was told they could not give me that information. The reason I was asking for the pay off was because my statement had the payoff amount doubled what the initial loan was. I called several times only to be told the same thing. I was recently told don't worry about the amount on your statement, because it is not the pay off amount. Again I ask what is the pay off amount, only to be told it's on my statement. I am getting double talk and on top of this my finance charge was raised even more. Govenment bailout---NO! SHUT this company down.

so called no interest plans
Just wanted to warn everyone out there who has an account with citifinancial or going to go there to beware!!! I know the legalities of a "no interest" plan but I am wondering if everyone else is aware of the ploy. The deal seems simple enough...you purchase with no interest and no payments for said amount of time...I personally always pay off the amount before the expiration date due to the interest. If you had bought something for say $2000.00 and you have been paying it off during the year (the smart way) and then you had a balance of say $100.00 left at the end of the term...you will be charged interest on the $2000.00 not the balance. I know this but I am so pissed at the company i wanted to let everyone know. I received a letter from this company saying they will now be charging a$21 per year membership fee...after I have signed a contract with equal payment, no interest for 30 months for windows I bought for my house. I called them and they told me they could do anything they wanted as long as they send me a letter of amendment. They said they could even change the no interest to 50% interest if they wanted to!!! So beware...they are scammers.
