Gave me headache
Citifinancial auto does not work with its customers!! After owning and paying for on time 4 dodge vehicles this year I was unable to meet my payments. citifinancial sent a repo man to pick up my pick up truck...when I went to make arrangement to catch up on the payments only to find out that 3 days later I would be due another payment or I would once again be behind and waiting for the repo man to show up again. I was also being charged towing fees; I watched the repo people drive the pickup...what was the towing fee for. Rather than be constantly be hounded by citi financial we opted to let them keep the pickup...think we will see anything in return for the vehicle we traded in on it...NOT!!! ENJOYING DRIVING MY 1984...NO CITIFINANCIAL HEADACHES!!!

High Interest
I borrowed a 10, 000 loan from CitiFinancial in 2004, the pay back is $18, 000. I purchased a car for my daughter and paid off some credit card bills. I pay $300 a month for 60 months. I got a $1, 000 loan in 2007. They refinance the loan. Let's do some simple math!! I paid $300 a month for 3 Years. $300 x12=3600 x 3=10, 800 thats what I have paid so far. I got laid off on April 30th, 2009. So, I couldn't afford to pay $300 a month. So, I called to see if they could lower my payments. They reduced my payments to $145.00 and sent me a statement saying I will pay this amount for 122 months. Lets do simple math again! $145 x 12=1, 740 a year x10 years=17, 400. So, I talked to someone in customer service and she told me that my balance was $20, 155. I have paid $10, 800 already.
When I finish paying this loan off, I would have paid $30, 955 for a $10, 000 loan. This has to be illegal!!! I need a attorney to call me @ 662-625-2712. My name is Brenda Brown.

Doubled Rate & Closed Act. AFTER Opt-Out Period
My husband is a small contractor who uses a Home Depot credit card issued through CitiFinancial. We recently received a letter about an "across the board" rate hike which more than doubled the interest rate. Of course, we could have opted out, but he needed the card to do his business so we decided to stick it out. Just shortly AFTER the opt-out period ended, we now get a letter stating the company is no longer going to "carry" that card and all accounts are being closed. So now we are stuck with an outrageous interst rate and no way to use the card to continue our business, which is how we were going to pay the increased interest in the first place. If we had known the card would be closed, we would have obviously opted out. Talk about feeling raped! This may be the end us.

Harassment
This company needs to be dissolved. They harrass me at work nearly causing me to lose my job so I can't pay them. Claim to make their own business decision to repo my car, say the call is being recorded which it is not but not knowing it is recorded on my end and reported to the police dept. I think this company needs to be taken over by the Feds for its negative, untruthful an unbusiness like practices. Hoping that this financial institution will be out the door like IndyMac. We don't need these businesses in America!!!

misleading/misrepresentation
Just like all the other complaints seems to be quite a pattern with this company we are amazed that this company not only seems to have "the best interest rates" (lol) but also seems to have the best "line of bs" this company has been nothing but a thorn in our side and the most biggest mistake next to marring my ex wife that i have ever made...they of course will sugar coat everything they can to make you "think" they are doing you a favor when in all reality your increasing their so called we can help finance anyone.. let me tell you I hope if your reading this that you have only thought of getting a loan with these people and have not already made the biggest mistake you could of made, and if you have fallen into there little web of lies and misleading representation of helping you when you are at the point in your life that you dont have an alternative you to will be writing right along with all the hundreds of people who are just as frustrated and angry with the way this company has played not only on our lack of knowledge but our volunerabilty and desperation of looking for help and hoping that not everyone is out to get you, , but this company turned out to be like all the rest, , no matter how much sugar you put on it its still just a scam just taste a little better at the time but always leaves a bitter taste at the end. we have asked over and over again to get a corporate number or a name of somebody we can speak to above a "district manager" and we get the same reponse we dont know how to get a hold of anybody, , "but we can give you the customer service number" been there...this coming from employees who have worked for the company for 14 plus years so they are either lying to us, , or just as big a sucker as we as costumers are, , your that desperate to hang on to your jobs people have at it, , , this is the first of MANY MANY more comments we will writing because believe you me we have PLENTY more to say, , so stay tuned all you VICTIMS!!! we to shall have our say, , this is the begining of a very long battle but this to shall pass, and we will if anything else let the word get out so this company will eventually have to answer for all the misrepresentation they have tried to spoon feed us, , see you for chapter two...

Harrassment
I get calls, sometimes up to 5 times a day. They call at my work and my home and will not quit. Isn't it illegal to harass people at work? My boss is getting mad about it and the last time they called, I told them that if they called me at work, they could get me fired, then they wouldn't get any payments. They are my least favorite institution. Had I known this was going to happen, I would have lived under a bridge and walked to work instead of signing up for a loan on the guillotine list. Don't go to CitiFinancial for ANYTHING.

draft money fron account and will not give it back
WE finiance the loan over and they took the money out of our account and they won't give it back . We paid our load every month on time and still have troble with them . Iam begining not to care for them.

Fixed rate not fixed?
I got a notice from Citifinancial stating that my fixed interest personal loan was going from %7.9 to %14.9. I thought how is this possible? When I called them they stated that they reserve the right to do so in the agreement. I had to "opt out" of the loan rate hike (90 days to do so from the notice) They closed the account and kept the interest rate the same. I thought to myself had I not read the notice that came in the mail, I would have found myself surprised and stcuk paying the high interest. I asked them why they were doing this being that I pay ontime and have an excellent credit history. He told me that with all the bad customers defaulting on loans, they are having to go after the good customers to get there money. With that kind of business stance, had I been stuck with the higher interest rate, I probably would have told them, I wouldn't make and payments on the loan until they dropped the rate down to what I had agreed to when I took the loan.
In reality the more people who fault on bank loans, the more money our government is going to give them, so the banks have no motivation to work with customers to get there money paid.

UNETHICAL PRACTICES OF CITIFINANCIAL
I have an excellent credit score and an excellent record of paying bills on time. In fact, I have no other credit card debt except for the small amount that was charged to CITIIFINANCIAL account from 1800 Mattress. And the only reason I opened the CITIFINANCIAL account was because 1800 Mattress offered no interest payments, if I opened the CITIFINANCIAL account. Majority of the time, I have made significantly higher payments on this account than what was minimally due. I believe CITIFINANCIAL intentionally avoids mailing out statements in order to generate income from late charge fees. On two separate occasions I have not received these statements and therefore missed my payments. As I am a very busy professional with a young toddler, keeping track of statement due dates was not one of my priorities. Therefore, I expect the companies such as CITIFINANCIAL to uphold their duty and mail the statements on time and every time. I have never had problems receiving other mail, such as utility bills or credit card statements from other companies. Since this occurred on two occasions, I believe this is done intentionally and is an UNETHICAL practice of CITIFINANCIAL. Since I am making all the payments with no interest, this company is not gaining a profit from my account. Therefore, I believe by not mailing statements and charging late fees is an UNETHICAL practice that this company utilizes to generate profit from each customer. I have called to dispute this late charge and the customer manager suggested that I mail a letter of dispute to their lawyers with evidence. As it is impossible to provide such evidence, I have decided to payoff my account but felt the need to share this information. My goal here is to inform the public of this complaint and suggest that by all means, PLEASE DO NOT USE CITIFINANCIAL FOR YOUR SERVICES.

nevever sends monthly statement, conflicting information
I recently made purchase with Ashely Furniture and had my purchase financed through Citifinancial. I have yet to receive a statement. I've called them five times now to verify my mailing address. They have assured me each time that a statement is being sent, still nothing. They say this account is not accessible over the internet so I cannot get an electronic statement and they simply refuse to fax or email one to me. I've asked where to send payments and so far have been given two different addresses, now I'm afraid to mail anything without a statement for feaer of it not being received or not getting processed properly. What can I do to make them give me a statement and continue to do so on a regular basis. I will NEVER use citifinancial again.
