harassment
in the past week my husband and I have had over 50 phone calls from citifinancial retail services, asking about a payment that I accidently forgot. My husband told them this past saturday 6/12/10, after about 3 calls that it will be paid on friday, 6/19/10, but they kept constantly calling. We told them that it is against the law to call again after we made arrangements. But they are constantly calling. I have caller ID and on saturday they called 5 times. Today they called 4 times on the home phone and 55 times on his cell. We are contacting our lawyer on this matter and will never deal with them again. We have a 2nd mortgage, and a personnal loan with citifinancial and they never harrass us like retail services does. They call once if we are late and that is it. Why do these idiots have to be so annoying. We will never deal with them again.

PAYMENTS AGREEMENT NOT BEING HONORED
STAY AWAY FROM ANY COMPANY THAT USES CITIFINANCIAL RETAIL SERVICES FOR THEIR FINANCING. THEY ARE SCAMMERS, LIAR, AND NOT TRUSTWORTHY. I SET UP A RECURRING PAYMENT PLAN WITH THEM ON 12/11/09 & CHANGED MY DUE DATE FROM THE 21 OF THE MONTH TO THE 2ND OF THE MONTH. MY CURRENT MONTH STATEMENT SHOWS THAT MY MINIMUM PAYMENT DUE IS $194 AND THAT I WAS ASSESSED LATE FEES FOR A PAYMENT THAT WAS AUTOMATICALLY DRAFTED FROM MY CHECKING ACCOUNT ON 02/01/10 (WHICH IS THE DAY THAT THE PAYMENT POSTED). NOW IS SHOWS THE PAYMENT DUE DATE IS 03/04/10. WITH THE $39 LATE FEE, THE 2 WEEKS TO COMPENSATE THEM FOR THE DUE DATE CHANGE MY ACCOUNT BALANCE IS GOING UP AND NOT DOWN. THIS IS THE ONLY TIME I HAVE FINANCED THROUGH THEM AND WILL NEVER DO IT AGAIN.

THEY CLOSED MY ACCOUNT!!!!
I have had my Citifnancial retail account for nearly a year and a half now. Honestly, my payments are ALWAYS on time and much more than the minimum due. My FICO score was 612 until TODAY. Today I decided to apply for a lousy $179 extension for credit with Citifinancial, because I wanted to purchase a normally priced $1399.00 dinette set or te awesome total of $679.46. My current available credit with Citifinancial is $509, so I only needed my credit extended in the amount of $179.00 total. Of course I was DENIED!!! When I returned home, I called the toll-free customer service number & they made me aware that they closed my account as of TODAY because my FICO credit score. The economy is so low right now, Citifinancial goes & does this to me WITHOUT warning, they couldn't even give me a chance by extending my credit. So, it leads me to say this: THERE IS NO WONDER WHY CRIME GOES ON!!!

Unauthorized charges
I had 0% promotional APR for 90 days purchasing furniture from Roomful Express - this was financed through CitiFinancial. I promptly made all payments as soon as I would receive the statements. My first two payments were posted fine except the last one was somehow delayed by 3 days after the promotional period had expired and I got hit by the accrued finance charges (balloon payment). I spoke with representative who was bit rude kept saying that I broke the contract by mailing the payment after the promotional period had expired. I politely asked him to have me speak with the supervisor, she was nice to drop finance charges by 40% but refuse to do anything else.

The last statement suggested that I should have allowed 10 business days to reach payment before the promotional period expires. However, I received the statement on 03/13/09 and my promotional date was 03/21/09 - They did not even give me 10 day time buffer to mail out my check.

Anyways, I have mailed them the payout amount today with USPS priority mail with signature confirmation. So they stop accruing any additional charges, but I am still planning to write to their dispute department. Reading several other posts on this site shows that this is nothing unusual for them. This seems like their tactic to trap consumers.
Frustrated and helpless April 5, 2009
punished for cooperating with collectors
Citifinancial can call me and try to set up payments to collect money due on an account in my husband's name alone, but when my husband pays the account off I can't call and cancel the payment arrangements because I'm not him. In essence they don't need his permission to take money from me, but they demand it in order to give it back. They would not allow me to cancel payments, and took the first payment even though the account that they collected it for had a negative seven dollar balance at the time of collection meaning it would have been correct for them to deposit seven dollars in my account. Instead they took money out and caused nsf on my account when three other payments that were legitimately made to other companies cleared. If they didn't need him to take my money they didn't need him to give it back. They're simply CROOKS!!!

Bad Business Practices
I have been having one problem after another with these goons...
I purchased a Bed through Sleep Train Mattress Center, back in May 2008
They extended me 36month Free Financing... what a crock of shit.
First off... They Began calling me in regards to a late payment/No payments, even though my Bank had been receiving CLEARED CHECKS, CASHED from my account, with CitiFinancial Retail Services, and MY ACCOUNT number on them.
Second problem Ive had with these goons... once I cleared it up with them that I had actually been paying them, they began sending the bill to me AFTER THE DUE DATE in Aug and September, and eventually just not sending the bill at all (November 08 through January 09).
Now I send the checks in my own personal envelope, with the minimum payment, since they cant get their act together to develop a web address to receive Payments ONLINE I receive phone calls any where from 2-9 times a day... everyday from these goons... when i pick up, it is an automated service. "Please stay on the line for an important message from CitiFinancial" - at which point the phone call ends. I have received calls as early as 5:30AM and as late as 11:20PM
I am sorry... I feel these goons should be taken out of business... I know they are a subsidiary of Citi... and as such they should be shutdown for bad business practices. I work for a different Citi company and I understand that it is NOT Citi, it is the CitiFinancial Retail Services company that should be put out of our misery. I have submitted complaints to the customer service line several times and have not gotten a satisfactory response as of yet. I think they are sweeping me under the carpet, I know there are others in my position... I have one bit of advice, PLEASE DO NOT DEAL BUSINESS WITH THESE GOONS.

Finance Charges & Assistance Plan
We have had a Rooms to Go - Citifinancial Retail Account for several years and recently my wife lost her job as so many other Americans have incurred in the last few months. Unlke most people, my wife and I have tried to keep our heads above water and had made an arrangement with through a Customer Asssitance Plan to make a lower payment and to have a lower interest rate. For 4 motnhs now, I have been receiving hounding phone calls and rude phone operators who demand that I make my original higher payment and catch up on the exhorbitant higher interest rate, due to original late payments. This company has the worst communication system in place, is the most disorganized and poorly managed credit company I ever had dealings with. The right hand doesn't talk to the left hand and one of their offices, specifically in South Carolina, has the poorest supervision of them all. If you ever have an opportunity to make a purchase of furniture from Rooms to Go NEVER EVER use their financing, as you will have poorest communication and retail experience ever with their finance company.

FINANCE CHARGE
I bought carpet for my house from Dobson Floors and they were running a 0% no-pay for an year promotion through CITI FINACNIAL RETAIL. My balance was around $6800 and the plan expires on Sept 13, 2008 but the due date was sept 17, 2008. I was traveling on a business trip and came home on the 12th. Wired the payment on the 13th thinking that they will receive it on the same day and CITI received the payment on the 16th. They slapped me with a finance charge of $1589.26. On that same Saturday(13th), I have wired the money to pay off another CITI retail account which is due only in Dec of 08.
After several calls and a dispute, they just waived $240.83 and I am stuck with this $1375.38 finance charge. I called the CITI AA credit card service to help me and they said, CITI financial has separate customer service and they can't help me.
Being a CITI customer for long time, I never thought they will do something like this to me. My intention was to pay off the account in full and I can't pay this outrageous $1378 finance charge. I am thinking off closing all of my CITI cards and start using my Chase/BOA cards.
Do I have any other options?Can anyone help me here? I have the Hyatt legal plan service and can they help me out here?

customer service and fees
I call the costomer service # and can't get a person it s automated I call another c.s.# and they say they can't take my call I go on line to find another # and they tell me again they cant take my call in the mean time I owe no money but the company still charges me late fees and finance charges over and over again and I cant get any body on the phone

Back Billed Rip OFF!!!
I purchased furniture from Wickes Furniture on 06-18-07 and signed up for the promotion of no payment and interest for a year with CitiFinancial Retail Services. Wickes went bankrupt shortly after and my payment of over 1500 dollars stood. I paid off the loan on time to CitiFinancial on June 10th and their bills were very unclear and stated the due date to be 6/30/08 but that didn't seem right to me. I still sent my payment on time and was later back billed 467.76 of interest because they claimed that they did not receive the payment until June 17th. That still would of been early according to the date my furniture was purchased. Calling over and over and getting an auotmated computer and no answers from Citi I am frustrated and need your help. If you can help please contact me for more information. In times like these they should be elated that I paid on time and they still want to rip me off! I have always paid all my bills on time and have a great credit score and I will not be taken for a fool with this stupid company run by monkeys!!!
