The City of Cocoa has made an entrance to a Conservation Area (a Park) right outside of my home in a closed in Subdivision
In December 2009, construction started pulling water out of the ground for 2 weeks for a lift station, heavy equipment banging on the ground in front of my home, digging 10 ft deep, 10 ft wide, 50 or more ft long. Walls separating for the ceiling and molding coming away from the walls, across the ceiling brace has fell 1/4 in or more and pulled away from the wall, paint pealing away with the molding, kitchen cabinets dropping 1/4 in from the ceiling, a wall is warped where the ceiling is leaking and other places where it never did before, creaking on the floor where the home is joined together, and a wall area where the home is put together, I can put my hand in, concrete in my driveway where there were small cracks are now an ¾in. wider and in one area is now a tripping hazard, stress cracks on the concrete skirting, from the pounding.
There is still construction going on with dump trucks carrying 70, 000 lbs of dirt 4/5 trucks an hour 4/5 days a week 8 am-4 pm.
A stormwater drain is to go behind me this year, which means more trees and dirt will be removed.
All the construction caused theese things to happen to my home; they were not here in November or before that.
I had an inspection of my home before I bought it in 2003, the Inspector gave me a book with pictures of what was wrong and items that needed to be done and none of those things were listed.
I called my Inspector to come out to see what has happened since he was here last, he said, no way these things were here nor could be normal home settling. I have time line pictures from the 1st day of damage began in Dec 2009.
This is not my home that is only involved, my elderly neighbor lady to the east of me has just as much damage, and others that have damage and reframe from saying anything seeing what I am going through.
The City of Cocoa's Mayor and Councilman, made sure the Turtles in the area were taken care of and wanted to move them to safe area, but found out that was against the law to remove them from their homes, but it is ok to do that to people.
A comment of "you will have waterfront property" was to be the storm water drain going in, that was very unprofessional and rude.
I have emailed the Governor, Lt Governor, District Commissioner Chuck Nelson, 2 Newspapers, 15 Lawyers, 6 News channels.
So it's not like I am trying to rip the City of Cocoa off or anyone else, I just want my home back the way it was or fixed or something before the construction made me feel unsafe in OUR HOME.
