Poor Quality
This is typically the email I sent to Clarks when I was still thinking they are a reputable company, it should explain everything:
Dear Sir/ Madam,
Although I'm so frustrated about the way the manager of your store in Slough has treated me, I decided to write to you because I believe that Clarks' reputation means definitely that you practice good customer service, and that not everyone will be as careless as she was.
First of all, I wasn't intending to complain about your store's manager at first place, but what matters really to me is to complain about the product I bought (A black leather shoes) on the July 4th, 2010 -which is less than 2 months ago- and now it looks like any cheap quality shoes I could have bought for third it's price. What happened to the shoes is that the leather itself is now peeled and scratched making it look like a 3-year old shoes. And, honestly, this is not the quality I expect when I buy a pair of shoes from such a big name like Clarks.
Comparably, I have another shoes that I bought from your stores a year and a half ago, and it still looks very good, and that's why I decided to get back to you. Strangely, when I decided to do so, on Saturday August 28th, 2010 (Today) the manager of your store in Slough replied to me as if I'm just a stupid person knowing not what I'm talking about (which is of course a big turn-off for me), I was talking about PEELED leather, and she was insisting that it's just about polishing and there's absolutely nothing she can do for me.
To sum up, my point is not about her anyways, it just happened that I had to go through this as I wasn't expecting such treatment from a store manager of such a big name like yours. My point is that I would love to hear from you if there's anything you can do for me about the shoes that I bought from your store (I still have the receipt), if not, so kindly advise so and I promise to through it away and never buy from Clarks anything again.
Looking forward to hearing from you at your earliest convenience.
Best Regards

Sole & heel disintegration
I am a handicapped 74 year old woman. I put on my Clark's sandals this morning to drive to get some food. I noticed my sandals did not feel right but thought it might be my feet. When I got back in my car I noticed a large chunk of black "dirt" by the brake which turned out to be from my shoes. When I drove home I looked at my soles and found they were torn up and full of holes and large crevasses. I could have fallen very easily and shudder to think of injuries at my age!!!
I don't believe I had worn my shoes more than 6 or 10 times!!!

Defective Soles?
I bought a pair of 10M Clarks shoes in March 09. The soles on both shoes have developed a long crack perpendicular to the length of the shoe under the ball of the foot.
I called Clarks and they are sending me a free replacement pair. Hopefully they last longer than 1 year.

I have bought 10 pair of clarks shoes over the years and the shoes had never been worn. When I decided to wear a pair the shoe separated from the sole and I tryed another pair and the same thing happened. I got several pair from QVC and since I had them a long time there was nothing they could do. Is there any place I can get some help.

failure
I have had three pairs of pricey Clarks shoes which, although carefully looked after and otherwise in excellent condtion, simply came apart at the junction between the leather upper and the synthetic sole. The failure is not of the thread used for stitching, it is a design-cum-material fault ; the part of the sole stitched to the upper ( i.e with holes through it) is simply not strong enough. Clarks must know this very well by now. One can only conclude that Clarks are content to sell shoes with a built-in fault, perhaps because it guarantees a relatively shorter life!!

shoes falling apart
I have and have had any number of Clarks shoes over the years, and I absolutely love wearing them because of the comfort and quality of the leather. However, I now have the 3rd pair in a little over a year that has come apart between the upper and lower. The rubber just seems to dry rot or something and come apart. There is nothing like wearing a pair to work and realize that your shoes are coming apart. What a shame for a company such as this to have such shoddy products included in their shoes. I am just heartsick. I tried returning the last pair, and they could do nothing. I hate not being able to buy my favorite shoes anymore.

soles come off
I have approximately 15-20 pairs Clarks shoes that I have purchased over the past 8 yrs. I love the fit, style & comfort plus there are many colors to select from. Starting 3 months ago each pair is starting to tear apart where the sole is attached to the upper. I am very unhappy that such nice shoes are so defective. I have a lot of money$$$$ invested in these shoes & it costs at least $20 to get them repaired so I am having to throw them away-what a waste of good money$$$$$. Will not purchase more until I am assured this defect is corrected. Doesn't anyone care???????????

soles came off
I have several pair of Clarks shoes, which I really do like and enjoy wearing. I have been wearing them for several years. The Blue pair I "had" the soles came off them, just were hanging on in one place. The #34584 size 5M Blue Zoe, of course they were my favorites because they go with jeans and slacks.
I have a hard time finding a 5M shoe any where, but I always buy them when I find my size.
Just wanted to let you know about the soles coming off and I did read where someone else had the same problem.
Do you all do any replacement or any help on your part?
You can advise me of your decision at my e-mail [email protected]

dangerous heel
The beautiful looking and comfortable Clarks brand shoes caused me to fall. I have had these shoes only for 2 months and they caused me to trip head first and the second time sideways causing great pain. I turned to go to my right and the right shoe turned my ankle straight down and I fell on my right side hitting my right hip, shoulder and head. I was taken to the emergency room and was given x rays! Something in the design of the wedge type heel caused this fall. The name of the shoe is Clarks Artisan. My friend who also bought this same pair of shoes also fell in our company parking lot and had many scrapes and bruises from her fall.
