scamming
I too fell into the Fox News credibility and read the teeth whitening testimonial. I read the offers and checked the box that clearly indicated that I only wanted the sample, not to join the membership. This was not clearly identified as skipping the pay up front part and really just meant that you joined but wouldn't be charged for 14 days. This is not clear at all on the site that was posted on Fox News. For those of you who are indicating that the print was clear, perhaps you are examining the website that is for the company, not the one that many of us purchased through from Fox News. This site no longer exists and therefore it is difficult to judge those who were scammed. As an educated woman with advanced degrees, the text was confusing to anyone and therefore, please don't be so quick to jump to conclusions. Others viewed different information when ordering.
As for these companies, they make it extremely difficult to end your "subscription" and mainly, they are simply happy to recieve your money whether legally, illegally or fraudulently. I will not watch or subscribe to Fox News for their involvment in scamming America's citizens during this economic crisis. They have lost my faith in their credibility.
I have cancelled my card too. It only has cost me 250.00 but I feel for those who lost more. The companies are working together to scam all consumers and I agree with the complaints. They echo my story. I am so sorry for these people and I hate to say that an American company has facilitated these scammers. You would think that with all the major corporations cheating the citizens of this country, that greed would no longer overrule ethics. Sorry to say that greed is alive and well in the USA. Call me an idealist, but I expect more from our countries financial and news agencies. Maybe we went wrong when we stopped expecting the best from our companies and lowered the bars to compromise ethics for what is left of the almighty dollar.
