Scam Artist - Poor Customer Service
we ordered Clear Communications after meeting one of their sales people - he assured that we had strong signal in our area and we would have no problem using the wireless signal. Upon the installation we found out quickly that connecting was not that easy - we could NEVER connect at home and only could use the portable "stick" when we were in a place that offered wi-fi ---needless to say, we cancelled - upon our request to cancel we were told the closest tower to our house was 4 miles away and we were not in range - long story short - they never stopped charging our card, $52.06 per month every month for 3 months in a row - everytime we call there is some person on the other line who you cannot understand and simply says "is there anything else I can help you with" ----are you kidding? You haven't helped me at all - as a matter of fact yes, you can help by reversing these freakin' charges off my card...and to date - they haven't. I have switched to Charter and am TOTALLY happy with them - I will never recommend Clear to anyone ever - horrible customer service and even a worse product. IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING CLEAR COMMUNICATIONS - DON'T DO IT!!!

Bad device and refusal to refund
I bought an iSPot from Clear to use with my iPad in Sept. I thought it would be a great tool to use when I was on the road. It rarely if ever connected. I took it to the store several times and was told to call customer service and see about getting a new one.
I called tech support only to find that the device that I had was no longer available and they could send me a new device for free. That was great except considering how poorly the first one had worked I was really not that interested. I also found out that not only could I get a new device BUT it would now cost me $45 a month instead of $25. Wrong - I asked to cancel my service and was told that had been done.
I got an email today - two months later and it said something about the latest news from Clear - hmmm - how come I am getting an email when my account is cancelled. They had not cancelled it and I was still paying to a device I had since thrown in the trash where it belonged.
I tried to get a refund on the two months they had incorrectly charged me however they said that they could not go back and do that. The only way to get my money back would be to get a NEW DEVICE and then they would kindly refund the past one month charge. I said I don't want the service - well then M'am someone else can take it over - you can transfer it to someone! WHAT! I want to cancel my service not give it to someone else and have them all upset when it does not work. Cancel my service now!!!
After stating correctly that I had and would post my transactions with their sad and pathetic help department on the web they finally gave me two months of credit back. They still tried to get me to go with them again but I told them no thank you Verizon has a similar device for less and it has worked great for me over the last several months. Word to the wise - go to Verizon instead or Sprint.

Bad buisness from internet company
I recently got internet services through Clear Communications. They told me that I would pay for monthly wireless internet service around $24. After two months the bill jumped up to $54 dollars a month. When I called to find out what in the hell was going on I was told harshly that it was only a two month premotion. I ask during that time I was considering Clear for internet service I ask if $24 dollars was the perminant payment I was assured it would be. When I called to ask about the price I was also told I can't get another service because they say I signed up for 2 year contract. Guess what "I didn't" .I also was told they are planning to try and make me stay two years on top of that they want to charge a hideous restocking fee if I do send the modem back! I did not agree to this and I ask for the recorded call log. They told me I could not have a trascript of it. I further explained that I didn't sign agreement. I was then told I didn't need to because I accepted the modem in the mail. man, if this doesn't fall under possible illegel parctices then it does fall into the catagory of bad buisness ethics. If you can afford or even get an attorney to fight these Scams you are lucky. The only recorse is word of mouth because they can ruin your credit and charge what they want and you have no control over it at all. I have a free web group where you can put complains up and fight for our rights! Its sick to know during this bad economy these nut jobs get worse so we need representation a voice. No one will fight for you but your voice might hurt their buisness enough they change or go out of buisness! please complain maybe things might change because right now they have all the advantage over you they can report you to credit, add made up fees what can you do speak out dont take it!
