what to charg rental fees when I bought the equment
I got clearwire at a local store and was told after 5 hr of setting things up that the price would be $65 a mouth and it was not from the start the after the frist mouth the clearwire said the the price was $65 so I pulled out my credit card
and payed the bill but I find that thay did take the $65 and charged a nother $5 right after that charge and I called them and asked them about this and thay said I am on a rental and the rental fee of $5 for the modem I told them I paid for the equemt and thay said to go back to the store and have them fax the recipt to them so I went in to the store and thay said that a bunch of pepole where arrested for scaming and thay dont sell clearwire anymore. but thay called clearwire and told them that I bought the equement thay said thay would fix it!
but the next bill again was $70 so I called them and talked to them again thay wanted me to go back to the store I told them the store doese not deal with clearwire any more after the arest of the scamer but thay insisted that I am renting the equement after fighting with them for days I told them to cancle my clearwire and again thay didnt want to do that I had to go to the bank and do some papper work for unautherrised use and got my money back oh and I got a letter in the mail saying that my credit is no good and thay had to charg my credit card for the equement and that still want me to pay rental fees
what a scam

Internet Service
I just spent another 30 minutes on the phone with Clearwire. And I am so mad, I am shaking. I have NEVER, NEVER dealt with a company that flat out lies to their customers. Last year I called a Clearwire# from an advertisement and told them I wanted internet service for my son, a college student. Some guy that I could barely understnd took all my information, told me what it would cost, and sent us the modem. The service never worked….it was so slow you couldn’t do anything on it. My son called in February to report the trouble they were having, all they told him was to “turn the equipment toward the tower”…and the service never improved. Shortly thereafter, they gave up and ordered another service which, by the way, works wonderfully. I called in August and spent an hour on the phone trying to cancel the service. It’s at this time that I was informed about a 2 year contract. When I called to order the service, I was NEVER told anything about a 2 year contract. According to your customer service rep, this is in the fine print when you go to initialize the service online. This is what’s known in Texas as “deceptive trade practices”. Your rep told me they would send me a UPS label to return the equipment, but told me I would be charged an early disconnect fee. I asked your rep how many times were we expected to call and report problems before Clearwire acknowledged poor or no service, she said “more than once”. Well, when you’re a college student and you have online classes, you can’t afford to wait weeks and months for your internet provider to work. And you don’t have time to spend hours calling customer service or tech support. What I want to know is…if Clearwire cannot provide the service, and the service does not work, why should I have to pay an early disconnect fee, especially when I was not told upfront that there was a 2 year term. The contract or agreement should be null and void because Clearwire could not fulfill their part of the agreement. And since I was never informed of any type of term limit, that just makes the practice even more deceitful and reprehensible.

Horrible, horrible service and they don't care
A year and a half of Hell. We wanted out of our contract early on because our service was inconsistent. Then we swtiched our phone service to Vonage not realizing that inconsistant internet service would mean horrible phone service. Our fax machine would not work. Vonage did us right. Good for them and I will always say good things about them. Unfortunately, Clearwire had us by the belt and wanted $275.00 to get out of the contract. Ridiculous. After many hours with tech support, upping our service at their request (which by the way, there is a penalty to go back to your original plan with Clearwire if the supposive upgrade doesn't produce results), moving modem around, and the the other BS they hand out didn't help one bit. It was a nightmare. A horrible, stressful nightmare we were finacially tied to. Finally, we gave in. Couldn't take the stress anymore and cancelled our contract to the tune of $160.00. When we called to cancel is when they finally offerred free tech support to come to our house. We were already cooked by then, and we declined. Then the bite is, we met a local Clearwire rep and he said no way he could sell us Clearwire ethically knowing we were in a "gray area"(Clearwire term). We live in a hollar, the Clearwire towers are a mile to our left and right on the other side of two "old" mountains. We called the big dogs at Clearwire supposably, and they were going to fix it for us, give us our "get out of contract fee" back after we played a little game with the modem. Made an appointment with Clearwire big dog to call us at their request, and got the modem out and plugged in to electricity. The call never came. I have emails confirming the call. I called and spent two and half hours wasting my time and breath, being told I was being "sensitive". I was pissed off and it was our fault that we got faulty service according to them, and that I didn't talk to the right people. I could go on and on. We had a year and a half of issues with them. What a waste of time and a run around. They do not care about giving people good service. All they are interested in is trickery. I didn't know it was my job to do their job. I am tired of this whole Clearwire thing. It has worn us to a nub. DON'T GET CLEARWIRE UNLESS YOU ENJOY HELL!!! Because the economy is bad, they are taking advantage and robbing people.

Misrepresentation
I have had "Clearwire" for over a year for my business. Phone and internet bundle.

My phone has not worked properly for a year- My credit card processing machine is connected to the internet which works fine. I have tried to get Clearwire to fix my phone service for months. Their excuse is that the signal is low in my area. If clearwire was aware that there was no signal in my area why did they sell me the service? Whenever I call Clearwire the phone support team will not take my call until I have three blinking lights on my modem-as if I can control the signal. I have been hesitant to cancel service because my credit processing unit is connected to the internet and I do not want to lose business. Before the phone service was bad now I cannot hear anyone who calls my business.

I have never missed or been late on a payment. Why is it fair for clearwire to do this? Aren't these services regulated? I want to spend time on my work and not on being stressed by clearwire- Now, instead of saving money - I am spending time and money trying to get new service.

charged after service was canceled
Heres our problem with Clearwire, We canceled our account sent back the modem with ups tracking they emailed to us but was charged for service for the next month and it was more then they usually charged they had added another 5 dollar fee for a web page. When we called to camplain about charge we got the run around that they had not received the modem yet that the charge was valid. ???? We had clearwire for over 4 years and we had ok service and except for rain fade etc... I really dont have any complaints. We had a good signal and until my husband decided he wanted a faster connection and went with cable and canceled our clearwire service. Instead of a thankyou and doing what they should have done, cancel our account, they charged us for another month more then we normally were charged. I guess they dont want our business back if we decide cable is to expensive. We have met our contract obligations and there was no reason for them to charge us for another month. If it is not resolved we will file a complaint with the states attorneys office. We may have to cancel the debit card we used to make sure they do not attempt to bill us again. Our bank has offered to demand payment back also. I dont know about you but 43 dollars is alot of money to let a company steal.

Bad service
Called 9-4-2008 to cancel service.

Was advised email sent to return modem and I would NOT be charged any future charges. Rep asked me to list my acct on craigs list for military personnel to take over. she advised I would receive credit of last months bill and that I would NOT be charged anymore.

She advised to keep modem for 2-3 weeks to allow for act to be taken over. entire call lasted 45+ min.

Clearwire has again charged my account, they refuse to reund. Clearwire refuses to send return modem label.

Clearwire uses transfer, hold stall tatcis so you can't cancel your service.

Every new customer service rep says something different.

now i must cancel my debit card to keep stupid ARSE clearwire from charging me for serivces I haven't used.

Everything
The reception through the modem is good to begin with, but slowly decays over the months of service. Following numerous calls to the tech assistance including one visit, we "must have some interference that the cause cannot be located."

"But it worked well for 4 months and then degraded after that point in time" I stated. The response from some of the Clearwire reps was one of contradiction in root causes.

Then the ultimate blast!!

They have the incessant need to maintain your subscription and bleed you dry!! Try to cancel the service-it is auto renewing; you must cancel within a week of its expiration or it will auto renew for a year; make certain even that even though you are not using the service during this year and thwarting $30/month for an inoperable service, that you do NOT toss the modem - you will be charged $200.

The only good thing is the information is provided to you from the US versus India - but you are screwed regardless!!!

authorized service w/o my consnet
Cleawire service sucks. They claim to have sent me an e-mail offering one month free service at the end of my 2 year contract. I never got the e-mail and Clearwire went ahead and credited my account one month free service which automatically put me into a new 2 year contract. I didnt even know i had a frigging contract. That was never mentioned when I first signed up for their crappy service. How can they justify no response from a customer to mean yes go ahead and renew?!! A phone call would have been nice. This happened to me with T-Mobile too. I was disputing charges and the CSR said I would get a credit which would show up on my next billing statement. Well it didnt and when i called and asked why they said they sent me an e-mail asking if i wanted the credit and had 48 hours to respond. Well i already said yes before and i dont read my e-mails every friigging day. So I never got the credit. Poor service and sneaky too. Ohh and try to cancel your service with clearwire. They will charge your account $185 right then. Thats when I found out I was under a 2 year contract. Anybody else having this kind of problem with Clearwire?? Oh and get this the modem they gave us started smoking which could have caused an electrical fire. I am fed up with Clearwire and there sneaky ways.
