Cheating customers with no support!
I myself have been working on getting out of a contract with Clearwire that I did not agree to. My salesman signed us up without telling us anything about a contract. He said that if we were dissatisfied we could cancel at anytime. But that is not the case. I am working with a number of people that have also been mistreated by Clearwire's Internet service. We are working on filing a class action against the company. If you are interested in participating, please let me know. There are so many of us that have been abused by this company and many that are still signing up that will be cheated in the future.
Thank you!

Lease is completed - won't cancel!
I completed my lease, per terms of service in spite of speed below dial up during 1/2 of one-year contract, multiple service interruptions (that were not documented in spite of my reports), difficulty in getting a truck roll, rude and condescending customer service representatives, "premium" service with anti-virus software they claimed they developed (Authenium is the developer), I can't even begin to itemize the list of misrepresentations and failures they have made. But now I have completed my contract and they have RENEWED it without my consent - which means they can charge my bank account and apply an new and higher early termination fee. I have made ten calls to customer service to cancel - all of them have send the company sent an email notifying me of this renewal and it must be in my spam folder - which it is not. When I inform them of this FACT - they tell me their terms of service allow this automatic renewal - which it does not. I have returned my leased modem, I made arrangements to obtain UPS labels 6 days before the lease end date, received them 4 days before the lease end date, packed my modem the day of the lease end date, sent it in hours after the lease ended, and I still cannot terminate the contract renewal. I filed a complaint with the Washington State Attorney General Office. Do not deal with company, not only do they not provide service as promised, but they use illegal business practices.

Clearwire believes World Of Warcraft is abuse of their system!
I signed up for Clearwire 6 months ago. A month ago my friend invited me to play WOW. I purchased the game and began playing. The game bogged down and the connection speed was worse than dial up service.
I called to speak with Clearwire and was informed that they don't support gaming. I asked to be released from my contract since it was not something they advised at the signing. They stated that my lawyer should have covered their terms and conditions with me before I signed their online form.
No where on their site does it clearly state that they don't support gaming. The only thing they show you is that you can not abuse their system with streaming video and audio. I use more bandwidth downloading a movie on Itunes than when I play WOW for an hour.
I understand their system may not work well with games but they should allow people to cancel the subscription for a service they can not provide. That statement on their terms could be said of any usage online.
I will not renew nor will I ever tell anyone that Clearwire is worth signing with for any length of time.

Poor service!
I think Best Buy should be just as culpable for this Clearwire service sham as Clearwire itself. After all, it was while I was at Best Buy that I made this terrible decision to sign up for their service. However, I just presumed if Best Buy was behind it, it must be okay.
Wrong!!!
Like all these other folks who have written about their negative experiences, I too have lived every episode; the most memorable being when I called in to cancel and refused to talk to the retention department. The short end of a long story is I got nearly $500 charged to my Visa.
They said I didn't follow the procedures - I told them, I never got a THING in writing - that I wasn't paying another dime for a service that didn't work. They simply charged my visa on file - another stupid move on my part to not have canceled the card.
Lest we forget the 'technician' that came in and put the hustle on us with some bs about how the fact I had to put their stupid modem in my daughter's bedroom window and plug these gawdy clear plugs in my outlets was only temporary since they were building towers all over my area.
I'm trying to figure out a way to get away from these rude amateurs who can't provide anything that even resembles dependable internet service. I am an adult and I am responsible for my actions, as stupid as they were in signing up for Clearwire. However, I would have NEVER given them the time of day if Best Buy hadn't been involved as the shiv who set me up.
Yoohoo, Best Buy?? You'll be hearing from me soon about this...

Pitiful service
I have been with clearwire for a little over a year, i have tried more than i care to admit, to get out of the contract. Clearwire is pitiful, the service they provide is about as useful as dial up, but you get charged 3 times the amount. At first i had good signal, then i don't know what happened, they will charge me for breaking contract even though they have not lived up to their end of the contract. Not matter to them, they have gotten very ugly with me, they say the issue is resolved, when in fact they have lied, the say a tech will come to my house, this never happened, i think the tech just drives by with a modem and if he see good signal, he turns in a resolved issue ticket... it is never resolved.

Lousy reception!
I hate Clearwire! I had one of their reps come out and place my receiver and for a while I had 3 to 4 bars, yet now I'm lucky if I have two lines showing! This is so frustrating and none of their service people help. I'm telling everyone I know how horrible Clearwire is! I can hardly wait until my contract is up to switch to another provider.

I hope the authorities catch on
When i signed up with clearwire, I knew i should not given them my credit card. They lied about the service and i canceled in 3 days. They charged over $300.00 to my card. I cant get it back because the bank said its a debit card. "Nothing they can do". If anyone knows how i can get my money back, please email me.
