Terrible service
I spent days and hours searching on the web for a dentist with great reviews. I found this office and read every review. It sounded great and I was excited to try it. Yesterday, 6/28/2011 I had the WORST experience with this office. First their office is very old and outdated, then when I was getting my Xrays, the Xray technician told me how old their machine is. She called it a dinosaur. I also mentioned to her that the pieces they wanted me to bite down on looked pretty dirty since they were just being pulled out of a drawer and not an enclosed wrapper. She told me they were sterilized. After the Xrays I had to wait a very long time to see the dentist. When she came to me she didn't even speak. She just looked in my mouth wrote a few things and walked away. I had to ask the nurse if she was even done and told my nurse the woman didn't even say a word to me. The nurse said it has been a weird morning. My hygienist, Eunice, was very nice. But she gave me the craziest news I have ever heard in my life! She said the dentist wrote down I had 14 cavities and they wanted to replace my old filling on my two previous fillings. I was completely shocked considering I take very good care of my teeth and rarely eat sweets. They wanted to start the procedure right away of course, and charge me $2, 000. I thanked her and asked to have some time to think about it and speak with another dentist. I went right away to get a second opinion with Dr. Ata's office in Hunter's Creek and walked in to a high tech very clean office with very friendly people. After my visit with them I only have TWO, not fourteen very tiny cavities that I am getting taken care of and what the other dentist saw were small stains on my teeth from drinking hot tea all the time. The stains came off in the cleaning. I called my insurance to complain about this office and then I called the office directly. I would never ever recommend this place and should have listened to my instincts and left the minute they started taking my xrays

Failed Root Canal follow-up
The customer service at this location is inconsistent. The front desk receptionist is an understanding and professional individual who belies the substandard service that occurs within the offices. April 2011, I was finally fitted for a crown for a root canal that began in December 2010. This complaint is not about the wait for the crown, as the first fitting was unsatisfactory. The final fitting of the crown was placed in April, at which time I did complain that the crown did not fit or feel as well as the temporary crown. Not two weeks after I was back in the office to alert the dentist that the crown felt as if it were not fitting properly as I would push it up with my tongue daily. After x-rays did not illuminate anything new. The dentist proceeded to 'hammer' the crown up till the surrounding gums became agitated and low and behold the crown suddenly 'fit'. The disappointment in the dentists choice of treatment was further complicated when the tooth later became sensitive. Chewing, or even sneezing became a painful experience and after another visit the dentist finally choose to x-ray again but from a different angle and found that there were areas of infection that were left untreated and admitted to a failed root canal. The dentist, who was accepting of his mistake admitting to not being certain as to how to proceed as I had asked Who would be paying to repair the failed root canal. He assured me that I would be contacted by his offices with information from their corporate office if the initial root canal fee would be used towards the new root canal or some other accommodations would be made. This complaint is about the office manager (Kerry) who not only became indignant upon My follow-up call to their office; where I had to inform her to what had occurred. But I've had to call the office three times since to find out what work has been done to find a solution to this dilemma. Any medical office worth its salt knows that if their doctor is at fault, to follow-up and to keep the patient informed rather than have the patient call THEM for Two weeks for a solution. I had believed I would return to this office for cleanings as the dental hygienist were pleasant but now I refuse to return to Any Coast Dental office given the lack of patient care and follow-up.

Fraudlent billing
We were sent a bill for services that were never rendered then Coast Dental charged it off on our credit bureau report. We took our then 19 year old daughter to Coast Dental when she worked at Disney College-Career Program in Kissimmee in 2006. We advised them to do only the work covered totally by her father's insurance, cleaning, x rays and evaluation. That same day they asked me for $5 extra for whatever and I should have been alerted than that something was wrong. The evaluation was excessive & expensive, she had always had regular dental care so we were suspect enough not to take her back. Instead we brought her to Miami to go back to our family dentist. Then we started to receive a bill in the mail to us for $55. I tried to call them, never got through, left many messages, no one ever called me back, and we found that Coast Dental then reported this to the credit bureau. The $55 charge from Coast Dental is totally fraudulent. I tried to complain to the ADA but they only take complaints about work done not administration of the office. I filed with the consumer services dept of Florida but nothing was accomplished either. I was told that in cases like these, most people just cave in and pay the bill. Wow, COAST DENTAL OF KISSIMMEE ARE A BUNCH OF CROOKS.

credit of credit card payment
I've paid with my payflex medical card of $504.00 on a Friday, April 20, 2011. I called to cancel the scheduled making of lower dentures on the following Monday morning. they cancel the making of the lower dentures. but here's the kicker. they told me it would be 2 months to receive credit on my medical card. because those funds are held up by Coast Dental, I can not pay for medicine I need. I have 2 weeks worth of my diabeties injections.
Today i plan to drive to the coparate office of 75 miles from my home, hopeful for them to speed their process of crediting my medica credit card.

Malpractice
This dental office nearly ruined my tooth and has created a fear of dentists In me forever. I go in for an irratated tooth and they immediatly start a root canal. The numbing shots did not work and they just told me "your roots just wont take the shots". Never an issue at other dentists! After 6 hours of work on one tooth and 12 shots later they still didnt finish. They worked on it again a week later and the temporary fitting had collapsed within this time. After getting another temp filling and it falling out too they gave me an uncomfortable crown. The nurse MADE the clunky thing fit. After a month the tooth started bleeding and I went to a good oral surgean to fix it. He noticed a near fracture in my jaw bone and also found the other dentist had not finished the root canal. Also, I'm now having to get the crown CUT from my gums because it does not fit and it had to be drilled through. NEVER go to coast dental...you will pay for it for years like my father and I. They actually did fracture his jaw bone during a root canal that they addmitted they were not equipped for it after the surgury was half done.

substandard work
A nightmare and not over yet! Talked into bridge after a tooth had to be extracted by a surgeon at another location. My dental bridge does not fit properly, it has a pontic that sticks out, the front is pushed up into the gums too far, the back has natural tooth exposed with a ledge that you can get under, they are so bulky that my natural teeth are now in the shadow of this appliance. I am so sorry and have cried many days and nights. The arch is too far out and now I have a speech impedement and sound terrible. I have to repeat myself often and do not clearly enunciate certain words. This work has to be re-done. They wouldn't even try to do something about it. I would like to submit photos at another time.

Fraud
The front desk staff can be very informative and helpful! But the dr's and nurses try to push services and overcharge! The dr only heard half of what we said and assumed, I guess because he thought we were well off! As with alot of ppl in the eonomy right now we can only afford basic neccessities to live atm!
We had to borrow money to get his tooth pulled and the date they gave us to actually get it pulled was almost a mo away!
We go to the appt and they say irrigation is mandatory and not an option! an extra $28 for the irrigation, plus an extra osha fee! then it was to be a surgical extraction which they charged us for and it was a simple extraction! We now have to find a way for gas for him to get back and forth to work this wk now because of it!
a dental office is supposed to be just that. not a boutique or sales office!

Clean my teeth
February 11, 2011
FRAUD
I called Coast Dental to have my teeth cleaned. They informed me they would have to do an xray before they did the actuall cleaning. I asked them several times on the phone if after this procedure they would do the actuall cleanin they assured me they would. When i got to the dental office i again asked them if after the process would they clean my teeth, iasked them several times and they again said they would. After the xrays they then informed me i needed to do several hundred dollars more worth the work before they would proceed. They said they could not do the cleaning because of other conditions it was against Florida law. Ihave emailed the office and sent registerd mail to them to explain to me what law it was against. I have never recieved an answer to this question. I am taking them to court to sue them for what i believe is fraud. They have filed a Motion to Dismiss against me. This will take place on Feb. 17th 2011 at 8:45 am im District Court at 930 East Parker St Auburndale Fl. Plese feel free to attend
