I sent gifts from the entire family in N.c. to my daughter in Fl. It was mailed with $500.00 were of insurance on it. There was an antique piece of jewelry in the package that can't be replace. I spent every cent I had to insure it. I could only afford less than half of the value. The package had to be signed for by daughter. after a week she had not received it, so I had it traced. The paper trail showed that it was delivered 2 days after it was mailed to the wrong address with the mailman's signuture on, not my daughters. We found out that the package was never left at that place. Weeks later the mailman said he misscanned the package and really left it at my daughters door, said he didn't know if it had to be sign for or not, so he signed his name. My daughter was at home all day and never saw a package, she was waiting for it to come. Why would anyone work for the USP office that dosen't know better that to do something so stupid? He told my daughter that he signed it.The head of the post office even told me this. They call it a mistake, but I been told there are a lot of wrong doing going on in this P.O. and a lot of coving up. Why have these people kept their jobs ?They have been very rude and insulting to my daughter & me.It has been playing tag phone since Dec. 19, 2007. They say, they will call you, but don't. when you call them back they tell you that they didn't say they would call. They refuse to do anything. they said that it would be handle in N.C. They are the ones that needs to take care of this . My P.O. even sent them the ins. claims and forms all ready and signed by me and they still have not filed the claim. There has been a federal crime conmitted . I need this settled. This reuined all our Christmas and they just keep dragging things out. We will never be able to replace some of the items and would ratter have them than any ins. money, but that's not going to happen. I hope the one that ended up with the one piece of jewelry finds it hard to look in the mirrow at themselves. If they only had a heart and knew the story and why it meant so much to my daughter and me. This P.O. needs to be investagated for fraud and much more. Thanks for letting me write this.
