BAD BAD BAD SERVICE!!!!!
BUYER BEWARE!!! (Or Renter Beware..)
I used CollegeBookRenter.com to rent books for my son for college... WHAT A DISASTER!!! I ordered 3 textbooks from them on Aug. 20th.
I paid extra for express shipping, they promised 3 to 6 day delivery.
At day 5, I was getting nervous, so I e-mailed them. No response.
At day 6, I emailed them again, no response.
On day 7, I called. I mentioned the e-mails, the lady says "Well, we get like 30, 000 e-mails, so we don't respond to them. We wait until someone calls us!" (Then WHY do they have a "Contact Us" box on their website?!?!)
I ask about my order... "Well, book A and book B shipped yesterday, (on day 6!) but book C is backordered!" (Hmm.. thanks for letting me know!!) I ask them... "Did you ship books A and B by express mail?" She says.. "We used a third party shipper, so I don't know and we can't track the package either." (WOW... is this a REAL business??)
So I wait a couple more days. Mean while, my son is sitting in class with NO BOOKS! Finally, after 9 days, book C shows up. (The book that was supposed to be backordered.) Then on day 13, book B shows up - with pages ripped out, pages torn and 19 pages that have writing on them! Yes, I know that rental books will probably be used, but they are supposed to be in GOOD condition when I GET THEM! In fact, their website states that if I return them damaged, I will be charged the price of a NEW book!
Fast forward to day 18. I still have not received Book A. My son could not wait, we had to buy a NEW class book for him last week, $162.
I call them again. "What's going on???" I wait 9 minutes on hold. The guy comes back to the phone - "Umm, Sir... the third party shipper canceled the order and refunded the money to us, they didn't have the book.." (Huh??? two weeks ago, they told me the book HAD ALREADY SHIPPED!!!) Then he says "Uh, we can refund your money or give you a credit.." (A CREDIT??? Like I'm EVER going to do business with these CLOWNS AGAIN?!?!?!) I tell him to refund my credit card for the charges.. Hopefully, they won't screw that up!!!

poor customer service
I rented several books from Collegebookrenter.com. I was sent the wrong textbook although I gave them the correct ISBN. I have tried to call their customer service dept for a replacement but have only been able to get a voicemail.
In the meanwhile, I have assignments due and no textbook. Needless to say I will NEVER, EVER do business with them again.
If you are thinking about ordering from them, please save yourself a headache and go with Chegg.com or bookrenter.com...I wish I had.
