My bank made a mistake by not realeasing a check they decided to hold on my account. I deposited the check on a Friday and they told me the check would be realesed on Wednesday morning a 8:30 am. So I decided to pay my car payment that day.(So I thought) So on the next Friday I look at my bank online and see I have all these returned payments. Confused I call the bank. They preeced to tell me that they are sorry that they decided to hold the check for 5 days instead of 2 days.They did not notify me of this change even though they have my cell phone number. They sent a letter in the mail the day it was suppose to be released. We all know how the mail works. They tell me they made the mistake but there was nothing they could do about the returned check fees that I have racked up that it was my problem. I just can not believe that a bank can make a mistake and admit to it but not do anything about it. This is the worst customer service I have ever recieved and the most helpless I have ever felt. It is not alot of money. Its just the point that it is a very big inconvience to me. And also the fact that it was not my fault. The branch manager I talked to was Connie Anderson and talk about rude. She was trying to place the blame on me. She had the worst attitude about the whole thing and would not listen to anything I had to say. I am just trying to warn their future customers about banking with them. They will not take responsibility for their mistakes and treat you like crap in the process. DO NOT BANK WITH COLUMBIA BANK IN LAKE CITY FLORIDA. I dont care if only one of their future customers looks at this as long as they know they know that this bank does not care about anything but their own money not yours.There was another bank involved. I wrote a check to one of their customers. They were understanding and treated me with respect. I would tell you to take your business there. When my bank bounced the check that I wrote to one of their customers. They took care of it. When I asked my bank to call them and resolve the check since it was their problem they created they would not even pick up the phone. But this bank did and I am not even their customer. Please if you are smart do not bank at COLUMBIA BANK IN LAKE CITY FLORIDA TAKE YOUR BUSINESS TO SUNSTATE FEDERAL CREDIT UNION THEY KNOW WHAT CUSTOMER SERVEICE IS.
I guess to sum it all up. If you bank here they can tell you one thing(I even have the peice of peper they gave me telling me the funds would be avaiable after the 2nd business day) and do whatever the hell they want.
