i got a mail from Columbia House DVD Club,i was not even a member,they sent me Amy wynehouse cd.its costed $3.02,which i'm ok with.after that i signed as a member & there was also a broucher that said 6DVD's for 49c each,i mailed all the six dvd's i wanted,but they haven't sent them,instead they sent me something else which cost $5.41.

i want an explaination & than my 6 dvd's as they prosime or i'm just gonna cancel the membership.

I signed up with Columbia House and haven't ever had a worse experience. When I first signed up the documentation that I filled out stated that I would have to purchase two more movies within 1 year but when I became a member this became 4 movies. After getting past that, I tried several times to get in touch with them but they were very hard to impossible to contact. The phone number they had on the enrollment documentation was only a recording and I could not talk with an operator.

Then I pre-ordered a movie which would have completed my requirement to purchase 4 movies. I had thought that the movie was likely in the mail and so I decided to cancel my account. I wasn't happy with the account to begin with. After canceling the account I went back and found that the movie I had pre-ordered was not set to release for 3 months. What kind of idiot company submits a movie for pre-order more than 3 months before it releases. BTW, the information regarding release date was not immediately accessible where the pre-release request was (i.e. they didn't provide the information before making the order).

Now, my account is canceled, which I am happy for but I had to make a final payment and I don't know if the selection that I pre-ordered will be sent to me or not. Based on their past record, I think that the chances are very likely that it will not.

Sending DVDs which I never signed up for & said i would be charged a late fee if not payed within 30 days. If they send something in mail you didn't sign for you don't have to send it back you can just through it away.

On 05/31/07 I received a small box in the mail from a PO Box in Greenville SC. I assumed it was some type of free sample to I opened the box only to find a DVD from Columbia House DVD Club with an invoice for $5.30 and instructions to make my next selections. I immediately called the customer service number on the invoice 1-800-262-2001 -- what a run-around. You can never reach a live person -- I pushed every option available to try to get a live person on the other end of the line. So my second thought was to put the DVD back in the mail box, marked the package "refused" return to sender. I get a note from our dear postal carrier that because sender did not make the package "return postage guaranteed" that I would have to pay $2.75 to return the item. I then tried to contact Columbia House via their web-site. What a joke! So once again I called the 800 number and went through the process of canceling the account only to be informed by the lovely recorded message that I would be billed for 2 more DVD's at the full price. I have been searching the web all day for complaints against this company and found that some kind person listed a phone number 1-812-466-8636 -- this is the phone number for Columbia House Management. I called the number and of course no live person to speak with however I did leave a detailed message about my situation of receiving this DVD and not being able to contact a live person. I also informed them that I thought that this was a scam and that I did not want my credit rating affected so I was giving them 7 business day to respond and resolve the situation. If I did not hear from them within that time period that I would be filing with the Attorney Generals Office in both my state and Indiana. GUESS WHAT!! Within 1 hour I had a phone call back from Trent at Columbia House -- per our phone conversation my account will be canceled with no charges and he will be sending me a prepaid envelope to return the DVD. So we will see what happen...

I have noted "Cancel" on the past two order cards I've received, and am still receiving order cards from this company. I have fulfilled the club requirements by ordering the required number of products and I now wish to cancel immediately. I don't appreciate the unauthorized charges on my credit card and consider this FRAUD!
