Billing me for $135.70
They sent me a bill for $135.70, stating I owe them this for, DVD's sent to me. I never joined their club, nor did I receive movies from them.
Please could you look into this matter as I have bad credit as it is, but I would hate to have added bills to it that I did not agree too.
This is the account no. 50562708516D13570 319111

mistreatment + swindling
I joined the club but admittedly failed to order the minimum DVDs in the time given. I honestly thought I would as my children like movies. When the time expired they charged me the full price difference of 2 DVDs which is fair (I needed to purchase 5 and only purchased 3. I thought I could use this credit when other movies were released. Every time I tried to order an new release movie they declined to use the $40 or so dollars I already paid! Trent Krafe one of the mangers said I had a year to use it and I ddin't so I had to find DVDs that were 19.95 or less. I could not pay the extra (guess what prices increased and nothing prior to a 1985 DVD is 19.95!) to have what I wanted!
You would think with an economy whose consumer confidence is declining as fast as the dollar they would try to accomodate getting more money! I will write to the CEO, Stuart Goldfarb at 10 PEnn Plaza, 250 W. 34th St., NYC, NY 5th Floor, 10019 ASAP! I am beyond miffed and they will never get any other business from me unless and until this is resolved to my complete utter satisfaction.

Scam and cheating!
About three years ago I opened an account with columbia house where they claimed that i would only have to pay 49 cents per DVD. WELL... lets just say that was a big mistake, I would send the DVDs i didn't want back and they would claim that I had never sent them, in the end I had to pay FULL price for all my DVDs and cancel my account. I thought that I was finished with this ordeal until one saturday morning THREE YEARS LATER, when i get a call from a collections agency telling me i owe columbia house money. The problem is I cant get in touch with a human at their company to resolve this issue, and reading the posts on this site I see that I am not the only person who has had issues with columbia house!! This is ridiculous I don't see how this site is still in business. Please if any one has ANY type of information on how i can resolve my problem email me, I would really appreciate it.

Unauthorized withdrawal!
I closed my account (50521692868) and paid 109.34 to Columbia house and picked four movies out did not even get my fifth one. On 11/5/07 they withdrew the amount. On 11/06/07 they withdrew 94.76 more dollars from my account. This cost me 30.00 dollars for my account going under because your company took iton there selfs to take money out with out my authorizing it. I still have not got the 94 dollars sent back to my account and you need to get people you can understand to talk on your phones. I still want reimburse for the 30.00 dollars plus the 94.76 you cost me. Contacting better business bureau and never doing anymore business with the company!

Unauthorized charges!
First of all, I don't even know how this company got my personal information. Second, they have been sending bills in the mail with charges for items that I do not even possess. Third, when trying to reach assistance for cancellation for an account with my name on it that I never agreed to have, there are only automated systems. You can never reach a real person. And last but not least, they insist that you pay them money or they will turn your name into an agency. Furthermore, this company should be investigated for fraud, and every victim that has suffered economic losses should be fully reimbursed.

Fraud and cheating!
Columbia House is notorious for sending people who have never signed up with them DVD's they didn't order, and then charging for them. They don't put their name on the package so you will go ahead and open it. After it's opened...you can't refuse it. I'll be darned if I'm paying one red cent to this scam of a company even to ship back their stuff.
If this happens to you, call: 1-812-466-8636, which is their management phone line. Someone WILL actually answer this, unlike the rest of the phone numbers you try.
I had written them 3 different times about the problem, and they didn't respond other than to continue to send me overdue invoices.
I called the above number, told them I was NOT paying them a dime, and they could cancel my account, wipe off the balance due, and lose my address or I would be contacting my attorney. I did also, and recommend everyone that has trouble, TURN THEM IN TO THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU! Just do a google search for better business bureau in whatever state you are in. Maybe after so many people actually stand up and refuse to pay for this scam and turn them in... the authorities will do something about their evil, dishonest marketing practices!

Not able to cancel membership
Columbia house is sending me DVD's I am NOT ordering faster than I can keep up with them. For that reason, my account is always in arrears for products I did not get a chance to decline. I have sent the company several e-mails complaining about this, but have so far not resolved the issue. (MY membership requirements have been fulfilled and I now want out!!!)
