Lack of customer service, overcharges
I was a member with Columbia House several years ago and got seriously screwed over by them (product never shipped, overcharged, payments taken out of my bank account without my authorization, etc). After a couple of years I decided to give them another chance -- big mistake. Now they send the Directors Selection (even though I declined it online), charging me a late fee when I only just got the shipment 2 days ago (this just happened - got the package on 9/20, I called them today, 9/22, and the telephone tree informs me I owe $3.00 more than what was on the statement in the box! I DON'T THINK SO!!). I work in the Fraud Dept for a large international bank and see claims against this company on a regular basis. You use to be able to get a live person by selecting 'cancel' in the telephone tree but they've apparently changed that.
I just looked up their info, so I can provide everyone with the Corporate address and phone number, and it says they employ 2700 people...I'd sure like to know where because it's not in their customer service department!!! Oh, and now there website isn't working...well, the US one isn't...the Canadian one works just fine.

I plan on sending certified letters to each of these people to let them know just how badly they suck. They probably won't make it past the personal assistants but it'll make me feel better and I'll have it on record when this gets legal.

They send movies sometime multiples of same movie and I have to pay return shipping and the bill is always wrong.

Collection Agency from 7 years ago
My son at the age of 16 ordered from columbia house over 5 box sets and some singles. now after 7 years, columbia house decided that he didn't fulfill his obligation because they say that box sets don't count (box sets run anywhere from$30-$100 each) but they don't fulfill the obligation. not only was he underage when he started buying these, he DID fulfill the obligation. i called them and had this straightened out 4 years ago with columbia house and now it pops up again. they have sent a collection agency threatening to take him to court plus put it on his credit report. what do we do now. nobody ever follows through and they aren't listening.

harassement from credit company for items not received from vColumbia house
A few years ago I ordered CD's from Columbia House, after receiving 1st oder, I telephoned and cancelled more CD's. They claim I received more CD's which is false as we were away for 3 months at the time and could not have gotten them. I was in contact with customer service and thoutht we had settled this matter. I am a senior citizen and not used to playing games. Lo and behold we arrive from our 4 month stay in Florida only to find out a credit agency was trying to reach us, because Columbia House sent my name to a collection agency. I explained to them this problem and they said to contact Columbia House which I did. The collection Agency continues to call to the point of harassement. How do I get Columbia House to quit bothering me and rectify this situation. I don't even know where to write to them. Help!

Unsolicited DVD Membership
I recieved a totally unsolicited DVD. I have not "joined" the Columbia House DVD club or solicited a product from them. I was sent a DVD titled "Georgia Ruls", which I have never heard of and do not wish to have nor other products from Columbia House period.

I don't believe I ever signed up for the club and yet I have received dvd after dvd. I paid for the first one but have returned them since then. Please remove my name and address from your system. Everett

NEVER SIGNED UP FOR ANY DVD AND I RECEIVED ONE
I NEVER SIGNED UP FOR ANY DVD AND I RECEIVED ONE TODAY IN THE MAIL I DO NOT INTEND TO PAY FOR IT AS I DID NOT AGREE TO PURCHASES ANY DVD NOR WANT TO. I AM VERY UPSET WITH THIS. I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO?

Bill for $117.70
I received a bill today from Columbia House for $117.70 stating that I need to settle my past due account by 5/18/08. First of all I haven't ordered anything from them or received anything from them. I am very upset due to the fact they have already turned me over to a collection agency. This is the first bill or anything I have ever received from them. I think this is a bunch of crap and a scam. I need to know what I can do to resolve this. Nor do they have a website that you can obtain any info regarding this. Please help me regarding this matter!

I have called and emailed Columbia House DVD Club that I wanted to cancel this membership and they are still sending me the DVD's in the mail. I DO NOT want anymore so please stop sending them to me or I will not send them back.

Received dvd in mail-not member!
I received an e-mail that stated my dvd selection was mailed on 4/8/o8 Forest Gump was the selected movie. I did not sign up with Columbia House for anything at all. I received the dvd in the mail today 4/10/08. I am beside myself with anger. I don't know what type of scam you are trying to pull but you are barking up the wrong tree. Call me at 660-291-8469.
