Hi,
My name is Linda and this last summer we had about 3-4 very high electric bills. Between $350 and over $400. We pais a very large chunk out of each of my husbands check. He gets paid every two weeks. He works for the Village and he does not make much money. I have gotten our bill down to $568- since the end of September, which at that time was $900.00. With-in two weeks I paid $550.00. Well, I called Com-Ed today to let them know I would have payment in by Nov. 3, 2010, teo days away. The very rude woman would not even let me talk, I was calling as a courtesy. She accually told me to stop talking and listen to her when I was in the middle of telling her that we have a baby in the home with asthma and has to have his nebulizer. She was so rude, be rude to me is one thing, be rude to or about one of my kids or grandkids, well that just crosses the line. Then she hung up on me and when I called back, they were closed. I know I left out what she was saying, she was telling me that we had a final notice sent out and we were on the list as of today. I recieved my bill and there is no final notice, and I never recieved a final notice in pink...In fact, I was so shocked!!!my bill had gone from almost $400.00 to $60.00 something. What is that all about? That is over a three hundred dollar difference in one month. Makes no sense to me.
I was also trying to tell her to please look at my account and see the good faith that is there and that we are losing our home that we have been in the last 41 years, and my mom lives next door. I just don't understand why she would tell me I am on a shut off list when I had just recieved the bill which is not even due until the 9th of November.? Now I am sittting here worrying if they are going to come out and shut my electric off tomorrow. Why have people become so hate-full? Years ago you would have definetly lost your job. No-one cares about anyone any more and it really stinks. I hope I am writing to the correct agency that can help me. Please reply as soon as you can.
Thank you so much and God bless you and yours,
Linda
P.S. I always thought if you made a payment at least once a month they could not turn you off? Has anyone else ever heard that?
