How to get results
If you are having grievances with Comcast Cable, let me refer you to the Cable Television Consumer Protection and Competition Act of 1992. It is federal law and is binding. (Public Law 102-385 - Oct. 5, 1992). Under the CTCPCA, it is illegal for cable companies to force services on you that you explicitly state you do not want, and it is also illegal for cable companies to "hide" services (such as DVR service when you only order HD services) and then all of a sudden, charge you for that service that was once free. These are just some examples. You need to contact the Mayor's office of your township / city, as that is the office responsible for entering into cable company contracts. They will contact the administration offices for you and you will get results.

Fraud and Billing
I tried to get cable and couldnt because apparently i am being billed for and out standing bill that is 14 years old then when i asked what where the places of service it was an address i never lived and i was 16 years old never heard of the house or the address . I called the fraud dept. threw social security and reported fraud when they look they said that i never lived in those houses and they will send me a report.and to call the cable company and that the cable company has to erase that bill and start me a new account even if i had to take id to the cable company proving it was me they are still giving me problems. told me that it was my social and i am resposible that what comcast said and social security said they cant make me responsilble for something thats not mine.. Comcast are crooks how are you going to bill someone a bill that dont belong to them 14 years later unbelievable...

Field Inspection took 43-days, then no contact
Ordered Double Play on Nov. 25, 2010, as comcast website states the package is available at my address. Ordered PC Router and SUPERPASS, at the the suggestion of Comcast.
Was told the Field Inspection would take 7 to 10-days.
It took 43-Days, (ostensibly done on 1/07/2011).
Determination was my address is not serviceable, though neighbors have it, moreover, my outside connection box is closer to my home than others with Comcast. Can't be little more than 100' if that.
I have send several emails, close to 2 dozen phone calls (keep getting transferred and put on hold), when all I really need to know is "WHY" is my address not servceable, when even to this day, websites and dealers say it is in Comcast servicable areas.
Lastly, I have paid $86.73 (for Router & SUPERPASS) which were deemed essentials upon checkout on Nov. 25, 2010, and now Comcast tells me I am not even eligible for a refund.
Again, 43-days to conduct a Field Inspection is such that the constant 7 to 10 days I kept being told is so erroneous as to be pure fiction.
If comcast does not fix this situation to my satisfaction, I will take further actions to convey my experiences with Comcast, and believe me Comcast will not like the stories I'll tell. What makes those stories compelling is they're TRUE.
Worst service from anyone in quite a long time!

Stealing my equipment
I am in disbelief how incredibly bad Comcast has been.
A comcast representative in BestBuy approached me telling me I could get a better deal for triple play than my current comcast service. He looked up my account and even told me I was paying way too much for it. He set me up, but I had to 'cancel' my existing service before I could switch to the bundle. I received a letter stating I would receive a check for $38.86 for the unused balance of my old service. I received a check for $3.86 instead. Called them up and they said I did not return the cable modem, hence the $35 fee. I OWN my modem!! I now have to prove that my equipment is my own.
A new installer would have to come and install the new HD box. $50 fee.
TV worked, but internet only worked to comcast site, no other sites.
HOURS on the phone finally got the internet working.
Received a HD Tivo as a gift. Could not use it unless you pay the Comcast tax for a cable card. I was told a installer HAS to come out and plug the card in for me. Installer takes several of my splitters and cables I had laying out. Says that I won't need these. After he leaves find out only the basic cable worked on Tivo, not the HD stations I am paying for.
HOURS on the phone. They said they had to send another installer out. The installer comes, and calls to his office. He says the 'billing code' was not set correctly in the computer. I receive a $50 charge on my bill for this 'SERVICE'.
I will be switching to AT&T as soon as the current offer expires, and hopefully never return. I've also convinced many other people to switch to another provider.

Terrible customer service
Signed up for a promotion they were having for 2yrs, great promo to get us from Verizon but then they change it after a year and came up with the excuse that they keyed in the wrong promo...already spent endless hours of trying to find someone to fix it and to no avail... now trying to find someone at corporate to see if they know how to fix it...8 people later and still no answers...nice company..going back to Verizon as soon as we can at least if they make a mistake you can find someone to fix it on one call.

no bill sent, but put in collections!
on 10-22-10 I closed my account and returned all equipment with Comcast due to their HORRIBLE customer service and rude customer service every time I called for their cable or internet not working. They refused to send anyone out, and refused to fix any problems. Their blanket statement was, "that's not my problem". I was told IF there was a final bill it would be mailed to me and I was dismissed rudely from their office. On December 10th, 2010 I receive a call from a collection agency saying they have zapped my credit for a delinquent amount of 69.01 and they will not stop calling me until I pay the bill. I said, I did not receive a bill, and their response, NOT MY PROBLEM!" Unbelievable! So, I call Comcast to discuss their once again horrible customer service and the fact they never sent a bill, or called and they had the number, since they gave it to a collection agency. I heard "Not my problem" several more times, got put on hold for 25 mins, and got passed to 3 or more people and still no answers. To save my credit I have paid their FRAUDULENT bill and will be reporting this fraud to the federal goverments fraud site.
DO NOT GET COMCAST AT ALL COSTS!!! They do not repair their services, refuse to send out techs, are rude and borderline abusive to customers on the phone, and steal your money when you drop them for their crap service. I Believe this is called THEFT OF SERVICES!!

THEY WILL NOT LET ME CANCEL MY SERVICE!!! I HAD TO CALL THE CITY GOVT. TO START A COMPLAINT ABOUT THIS AND THE FOLLOWING INFO:
the worst more disrespectful, rudest, most arrogant smart assed kids for customer service.
you will go down along with att. i am canceling my service with joy! complete JOY!
you should all be without jobs and poor and begging in the streets and maybe you well figure out you were so bad to customers who were paying your paycheck.
good riddance to trash!!!
and the service is trash also. and for a senior on social security, and disabled, on very low income, to not get airwaves for free is outrageuous to begin wtih. but to pay $26 a month for a basic antennae? with 5 channels of trash????? you have got to be kidding!!!
and what is even worse is that the comissioners give them the contract and they are exclusive in the area and that is crap! communism does that. but the kickback is higher for the commissioners so concast gets the contract in my area. how disgusting and disgraceful!

they will not let me discontue service!!! they keep hanging up on me after being rude to me. i had to call the city government to send a complaint to the vip of comcast. what the xvxcvjl is that??????

i just got off the phone with comcast you know they had good comercials it is for sure that they paid those people for there testimonys they have the worst custimer service and every thing when you are trying to explain to them they interup you when you ask for a superviser they say that he wont come to the phone what kind of service is that no one sould ever use them it is not right they treat people like that

illegal entry to a home
A comcast technician came to my home today to disconnect service, they asked my neighbor to let them in. I DO NOT HAVE ANY COMCAST SERVICE. I spent 45 mins on line with their disconnection department FIVE TIMES HE ASKED FOR MY ACCOUNT # FIVE TIMES I TOLD HIM "I DON'T HAVE AN ACCOUNT WITH COMCAST. He then put me on a " short hold" for 12 minutes then I got put through to the spanish speaking department! I AM QUITE SURE HE DID THAT DELIBERATELY. WHAT A TOTALLY USELESS COMPANY COMCAST IS. I WOULD NEVER TRUST THIS COMPANY AND IF THEY EVER ENTER MY PROPERTY AGAIN I WILL CALL THE POLICE.++++GO DISH++++++++++++++
