Dissatisfied Comcast Customer October 23, 2010
Customer Service/Technicians
Comcast has the rudest, ignorant and uneducated Customer Service representatives. Spoke to three of them within a 30 minute period and not one of them could have had a sixth grade education. Instead of listening to what the problem was, they overtalk the customer and put them on hold. If the answer is not in their Handbook, they can't answer it and instead of admitting they do not know how to handle the problem, they lie. They refused to put a supervisor on the phone.

Hopefully Verizon's FiOs and DirectTV will gain more and more customers daily and the Comcast reps will be out of jobs. I doubt they would be able to sell fries with burgers at McDonald's. They certainly fit the stereotype of what they are.

I went to Comcast's physical office in Hixson TN 2 days ago and agreed to pay $100 yesterday and the remaining balance on the 23rd. They agreed and called another Comcast office and told me it was all set. Then, 30 minutes ago, they cut my service. I called their customer service number and they routed me to the payment department, who says they can't help and that they can CONTACT THEIR OWN CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPARTMENT!! Also, they CANT SEE PAYMENTS FROM THEIR OWN LOCAL OFFICES. If they can't contact themselves, what chance do I have? It would be a joke, but it's so sad. I'm on hold with their new sales department since that's the only number I can access another Comcast person and I've been on hold for 11:18 secs...for a new potential customer. I'm dropping them tomorrow. OF COURSE THEIR Sales person put me on hold without warning and routed me to Customer Service, who will automatically route me to the Payment Office again. So Im calling again.

Comcast website: you fail
I signed up for automatic bill pay on comcast.net. To this day it still says I'm enrolled in automatic payments, HOWEVER, I get a notice in the mail that my automatic check was returned from the bank. When I called the customer service agent to find out why (b/c yes, I have the money in my account to pay) he said I had no bank account, phone number, etc associated w/ my account. When I prompted him to dig further he told me to stop interrupting him. I also continued to get mail bills after signing up for Eco-bill. Comcast promises they'll give me the $25 fine back for thinking I had enrolled in online payments b/c it says enrolled but somehow I'm not so how am I supposed to know? I completely discontinued ALL comcast services and I will never give another dime to this company for shoddy service.

COMCAST Ripp-off and extremely poor customer service
Comcast sent a letter of promotion to switch to high definition in Feb 2010 and i called for the promotion. Then they scheduled appointment for installation. they showed up with a wrong digital device. I called back the next day and they promised to send another technician with the proper device. But no one ever showed up. Then they increased my bills few days after that to $120 while the promotion was just $69. I called several times and could not get anywhere but since then my bill was increased for about $10 every month. I have been their customer for 8 years now and can't believe they rip me off like that. Today (1014/2010) my bill jumped to $156 without prior notifications. I disgust them and would like to do something about that.

Terrible service
First I had to endure many tech visits to resolve my TV cable reception. Had to call 15+ times.. meanwhile they continue to jack up my rates.. citing promotional period ending... ridiculous... its a bait and switch method continously. Instead of helping me with the current rate hike, she tries to sell me a phone package! A higher costing package that I dont need. The customer service reps dont understand Michigan is in hard times.. and several of us dont have jobs right now. They just don't care as Comcast rakes in the dough. Today, one offered me a $20 discount, after they jacked up my rates by $28, but wouldnt implment the discount till next month. My monthly billing period renewal doesnt even start for three more days, but she wouldnt implement it for a month! Very inconsiderate... So for anyone considering Comcast.. RUN RUN to any other service provider... You will be sorry... You will waste your time trying to get a supervisor or someone to listen to you.. they will act like they want to help.. but it will take months to get your issues solved. Meanwhile.. they will gladly take your money... they don't care... at all. I changed to a basic package and am currently researching other companies. And then I will terminate my Comcast nightmare once and for all.

billing
comcast said in there satement that my services would be shut off if i didnt pay my bill by 6-13-10 I paid it on 6-28-10, they didnt shut it off and are trying to tell me that I owe them for 4 more months of service.They didnt shut it off and I got there service so I owe, the catch is I have a tower and didnt use there service, but they still want me to pay.If they say they are going to shut it off and they dont and leave it on for 4 more months they think I should have to pay for the time they left it on, and thats wrong.I'm not paying .

Hidden Charges and Unreliable Internet
I just subscribed to Comcast on their $29.99/month promotion for 12gb. I thought it was a great deal and so I switched to their service.

The first issue I had with them was when their first scheduled installation did not arrive in their specified time frame at all! I had my roommate stay home for those hours for no reason.

Then I got my bill claiming that I owed them $190. Of course I thought it was some simple mistake, but as you have probably read, their customer service is HORRIBLE and I had to wait for a long time to speak with a rep. The first one was decent and said that she'd credit my account $59.90, since they charged me $59.99/ month instead of the promised $29.99 (This rate took me so much trouble to secure in the first place even though it was a widely publicized promotion). But then, where did the other charges stem from?

a) Modem Rental ($5/month - fine)

b) Installation Fee ($25 - fine)

c) Modem 'SiK Charge) ($25 - ??)

d) Unreturned Equipment ($25 - what? the rep can't even explain this)

All in all, it has been so frustrating dealing with them. I tried contacting their reps online and through the phone, and I get upset just thinking about all those hours gone to waste without even coming to a resolution.

The icing on the cake is that internet has been dropping in the past few days. I had to call a technical service rep to fix this issue yesterday aside from the dubious-bill-charge calls. Oh, and my internet just dropped three times in the past two hours. No big deal...

Overpriced
Comcast is such a rip off it is not funny anymore. They will not give existing, great paying customers discounts that they offer to new subscribers. Unless u quit Comcast & go back to them you are not eligible for discounts.
I love where I live, but Comcast has the monopoly of service to this bldg. I will move just to get away from them. They offered a friend a package for 1 yr for $90.00. Phone, hi speed, 2 DVR's 2 boxes, HBO & Encore. When I asked for this deal I was told it would cost me $130.00 a month & there was no such offer...well it was offered to a friend 2 days to my call to customer service.
What do I get, 100 channels that are mostly infomercials or local or some foreign channel & low speed internet, that sucks. I can access the internet faster from my phone than I can with concast internet--customer service tells me my slow speed is DUE to what I download--well I cleaned all the cookies & barely go past Facebook & comcast email---typical lie from customer service that it is my fault.
concast can kiss their good paying customer goodbye, as soon as I find a place that offers WOW or AT &T or dish.

Monopoly/Pricing
Comcast has a monopoly on the telecommunications services here in my area. I am unable to obtain any service with better pricing. I can not upgrade my ISP to access other services. My phone line is not eligible for use by any other providers. I have not found any other telephone service availability for residential phone lines.

Scam
I cancelled comcast for a better deal . They were upset do to the fact I didn't contact them first . The thing is I did and was told they do not price match . I asked for a final bill . They sent a man out to get the equipment which was 40 dollars. They sent me a bill including the 40 dollars that was supposed to be subtracted when it was returned . I sent them a letter with the paper the man gave me after he took the boxes .They still will not deduct the 40 dollars, even with proof .I think these people are a bunch of arrogant basterds that thik the law does not apply to them. I would rather not watch TV if they were the only cable company left in the world .They are *** and make too much money for what they do .They sent me a collection letter stating that they will put my bill to the credit companies . It's hard to deal with bottom feeders that do not take the time to acknowledge people and there rights . So, screw them they are useless and not very smart.
