Unauthorized billing
Unrelated to the storm- my cable (internet & tv) went out in August - it took them 5 days to get someone out to fix it. Funny thing was I could get the guide on tv but no pictures. The technician told me it was some sort of problem only on my line. I was promised a credit for the days I was without service over 2 months since the incident I am still trying to get the credit.

Related to the storm - I called when I got power because my internet was out and my TV was doing the same thing as in August - guide but no picture. I suspect that whatever the tech did in August is broken again as my neighbors all had their services (comcast/at&t etc) running including one who told me his cable never went out even in the storm. I called comcast & they wouldn't come fix my service because there was an "outage in the area". Not sure what area they mean since it was just my house.

Called a couple of days later & convinced the CS dept it was just my house - no other reports were coming in from my neighborhood. So service was scheduled - NO ONE SHOWED UP & NO ONE CALLED TO CANCEL. Service was rescheduled and ONCE AGAIN today no one showed up & no one canceled.

Comcast is able to run their business like this because there is no other cable internet provider. Get this - I tried to cancel my service today but if I do they will only give me credit for the outage up until the 24th and they will bill me for service from the 24th til today - no matter that I still do not have service.

I am trying to find out who I report this to - there has to be a federal or state agency that handles a business saying that they will charge you for services NOT received.

I am posting this everywhere I can - we all need to report this to the state.

BILLING
I have had problems with my account with Comcast ever since I got their bundle package last year. I have spent hours every month and even had to take time off from work to go to the office and get my account straightened out. No one there seems to know what the heck they are doing. I finally found one young lady who cared enough and couldn't believe all that I have been through and all the time I had to take to try to fix this problem. Finally after about 2 hours on the phone with her back in August I thought my problem was finally solved. I upgraded to another bundle which was suppose to be $114.98 per month. The next month I got my bill and it was screwed up again, so here I go again spending my evening on the phone with this same young lady who couldn't believe AGAIN what a mess my account was. I paid my bill in full while on the phone with her finally feeling like this was now corrected and there would be no more problems...Needless to say this month I got my bill and it was for $414.82, I just spent another hour on the phone with a supervisor who couldn't find his way out of a paper bag and made me feel like I was wrong. I asked for a manager or someone who was in authority to help me but that was a waste of time. I threatened to file a complaint and he more or less advise me he could care less. What does it take to talk to someone who can fix this problem? Is there anyone out there that has a name or number to get these kinds of problems resolved? I have been a customer of theirs for over 18 years and have always paid my bills. But this time they can sue me for it because I have had it with them.

Terrible company
You call, you wait. You wait, you are deceived into thinking you will be rewarded with competence on the other end. no siree bob. you use comcast chat. same. The guy on the phone has no verbal command of english. The guy on the chat has no written capacity. Sorry. Is there anyone out there capable of writing a cable bill that will genuinely deliver competition? Their answer: well your box musta stopped werkin' let's make an appointment to have someone out there. Can't ya just leave a box on my porch? Nope. I think this is a ploy from the mccain campaign to keep me from watching gov palin debate Thursday night.

Bill problems
I first signed up for Comcast in June. When I got my bill, I paid it & then got another one the next day. When I looked at my original bill, I realized that they'd sent my brother's bill to my house & that was what I paid(w/money order). That money STILL has not made it into my account. I have now had my cable/phone turned off 3 times because of this error. Once it is straightened out, I will be canceling them & going with another provider.

Lies and fraud
The last 2-3 days Outlook started to misbehave and ask for my id and password during a session. I changed the security settings several times and managed to get and send emails, but they bounced several times. Today I got in touch with the comcast support line (phone support) and spent about 1/2 hour getting the point across that I had tried all the things that she was recommending.

The last thing I was told before I hung up in disgust was that Microsoft had acknowledged a problem with Outlook and was working on it for Comcast. I was supposed to use the internet joke mail provided by them until Microsoft got things sorted out. I don't know for sure, but its my guess that there is absolutely no people at Microsoft working on a Outlook problem for Comcast one way or the other. I believe that they (Comcast) are just upgrading or changing something and dont want to support or deal with the issue.

I could put up with something like " you will have email back by tomorrow or this week" but to BS me with the stuff about Microsoft working on security bugs just for comcast is just tooo much.

Fraud and scam
I live in northwestern New Jersey in Oxford and last night my cable(tv)went out partially, though not the internet. I called and got a quick response over the phone but my service wasn't restored for hours, permanently anyway. It would keep going in and out while interrupting the programs I was watching. Tonite, it went out again twice. I called 4 times to report this and was on hold for a staggeringly unbelievable 35 minutes 2 of those times and NOBODY answered my calls. I hung up in frustration each time waiting for a "customer service rep". Never got a hold of anyone. In my opinion Comcast ***. This isn't the first time I've had problems with my service and this is completely unacceptable. Luckily, we have the option in my area of Verizon services and I will be looking into Verizon internet and tv service because of this. Shame on Comcast!!!

Awful everything
Recently my husband signed a bundle agreement with comcast for our home. After becoming effective, caller id shows with my first name and his last name. This person does not exist and the contract was signed by my husband, not by me. My husband called comcast and was told we would both have to physically visit the local office 15 or so miles away to correct the (comcast generated) problem.

I own a business making it impossible for me to pop into the local office during comcast business hours. nor should i have to. comcast has the information. You just need to correct YOUR mistake. Comcast has the information in our file with my husbands name. We didn't change it, comcast did after first losing our work order completely.

I called shippensburg comcast (our local office) one week ago and spoke with lori who assured me that she or mike would return my call within a few days. I have yet to hear from anyone at comast. During the conversation she pretty much told me there was nothing she could do.

Someone from comcast, lori i assume, sent a name change form via regular mail which my husband completed and sent back to the address provided. That also occurred last week. As of 24 sep no change has been made to caller id or our bill for that matter. This is such an easy fix that i am getting really irate that comcast refuses to fix THEIR mistake.

My next step is to file a complaint with the bureau of consumer protection or have my state representative look into the issue.

Awful company
Signed up on prepaid calling over 2 weeks ago, and I still cannot receive calls from the jail facility where my son is at. Called again on 9/22 and again on 9/25, just to be told again that the phone block should be clear within 2-24 hours. I still am worried that it still won't work by tomorrow. The facility I'm trying to get calls from is the Harris County Jail on San Jacinto Road. My phone company is with ComCast. I have explained all this more than once with the pay in advance company.

Fraud and cheating
I am so sick of Comcast I could throw up. A couple of weeks ago my phone was acting up so they sent me out a tech, he did not fix my problem so I had to call them back. The next day they sent another tech out, and the problem was on the outside of my house, he fixed it. Then I got a bill for $35.00 for that first tech that didn't fix anything. I called customer service and she told me it was a legitimate charge because that first tech worked inside my house, I tried to explain to her that he didn't fix anything, and asked her if she could see on her screen that I had to have another tech sent the next day, she said "yes, but it is still a legitimate charge". She would not listen to anything I had to say. I then asked for her supervisor, she told me that it wouldn't do any good, that it was legitimate, after begging for a good 10 minutes she finally transfers me, telling me the wait time was going to be extremely long, whatever I have time. It wasn't long at all because I opted for their call back service. When the supervisor called he totally agreed with me and reversed the charges. I just can't understand what is up with those people and trust me this was not the first or last experience that I have had with Comcast. They need to clean up their act, and all get on the same page... it really doesn't matter who you talk to they all say something different.

Terrible customer service
Nashville Comcast Customer service is the rudest, least helpful CS that I have ever dealt with iin my 62 years. Beginning with no listing for customer service in the phone book, to rude CS reps who don't listen to what you say, to menus that do not offer an appropriate option, to inability to recontact the same person, to refusal to give other contact numbers, to ad nauseum. Nashville Comcast Customer Service *** big time. My advice: If you can get other service - DO SO. I can't wait until ATT is available in my neighborhood. I hope Comcast loses ALL its customers.
