I purchased an apple ipod nearly 2 years ago and paid for extended warranty to Comet's where i bought the ipod. On 28.1.09 it broke down and on 29.1.09 i took it back to the store, where, I thought they would replace the item. They said that it would have to be repaired. I received a customer repair document which said my product would be ready to collect on 18.2.09 and if not ready they would contact me. In spite of many phone calls i am informed that the repair was not completed. Today, 2/03/2009 Comet informed me that they had been advised by the repairer the ipod needed a new hard drive and didn't know how long before it would be returned - how long does it take to find out the problem!. Comet do not seem to be interested in giving good service or they would tell the repairers that they will loose customers if they continue to give bad service. I still have not received my ipod and nor any date for its return.

I will never use comet again ! 2 years ago paid £160 for a goodmans tv+dvd combo + a 5year guarantee that cost me extra this was a christmas for my 70year old mum little more than a year later it broke comet said it could not be repaired so swaped it for a cello tv, dvd combo as it was the same size i did not mind but had to paid £40 extra to change guarantee and start again then 20 days later the tv broke and was change and repaired 2 more time and change 1 more time then 2 weeks ago it broke again comet it again sent someone out who said it can be repaired and would repair it with in 7 days ! 10 days later i phone up to find out what was going of and was told it had been wrote of so go to the comet store and pick a new 1 ! so of we went but found out that to get the same size tv, dvd combo would cost me £60 more as i already paid £160 + guarantee then £40 to change the guarantee i would not pay any more ! so had to phone the comet customer service HA Ha more like the joke shop i told them all that i had paid and how many times it broke also it was for a 70 year old so a smaller size would be no good and all i wanted was the same size with dvd don, t care what make or even if it was not new just as long as it worked and no more to pay but all i got was passed around from head office to comet repairs to comet store to head office and so on and was told go smaller or pay more or i can have store credit as my tv could not be fixed i told them it was for a 70 year old so smaller was no good i was not paying any more as ive already paid and its not my fault they had no tv for the same amount and store credit was no good as we only need a tv ! so then i called cello who makes the tv and was told it could be fixed as the tv was still been made as is parts ! so back to comet telled them this and was told it would cost them to much to repair it But it was ok for me to keep paying out wen the tv breaks and they would not swap it for a other cello tv .

Getting really angry right now,
I used to work for Comet a few years back and while i was there I bought a 32inch panasonic TV with a 5 year cover, on the 8th of aug it went broke down making it unusable, called the comet repair line and they said someone will be out to in within 5days.
so i thought fair enough atleast someone will come fix it.
the guy came out and messed about with it and said oh i need to order a part we'll be back out a week today, fine i thought.

6days later I get a call "oh we cant order that part anymore, someone will be out a week today to remove the fault part for repair"
and they did!
after countless phone calls complaining and such I got a phone call saying no we wont replace the TV and its still going to be another 10days till we repair it.
so thats going to be jsut about 2months.

When i worked in the shop a few years ago non of this stuff was going on, we always made sure that everything went though fast i think the max time i seen for a repair was 12days, there is no way im going to buy anything from comet again in my life
