I know my complaint is on the “old” side… It happened in Nov 04, but it’s an experience that’s stayed with me ever since and when I saw this site, I knew I had to post as well.
I purchased a Simmons mattress from Comfort World which included two of those memory foam pillows, and I had negotiated with the store to include a generic bed frame, as I was going to use my current bed in an extra bedroom.
They gave me the option of taking the pillows with me that day or not, which I did, and they noted it on the slip.
The day the mattress was delivered to my home, they brought two pillows (and bear in mind that they claim that these pillows are worth $250 retail each!!) I told them that I’d already gotten the pillows and gave them back to the drivers to return to the store. (Ok, so I just saved them $500….)
What they did NOT bring was my bed frame (approx. $35 value)… and when I called the store, I was berated and told that there is NO WAY that that was part of the deal and blah blah blah… I felt then, and still do today, that I made a mistake in not telling them to load the darn thing back up and take it ALL back to the store—but—like the other person writing about Comfort World, now I understand why they make you prepay and say it’s “final”.
I am still amazed that they refused to honor something so small ESPECIALLY in light of me returning their 3rd and 4th pillow which were so much more expensive!!
Shame on you, Comfort World… you lost me and everyone I can influence as a customer over a $35 bed frame.
