I cancelled the meal plan for the Spring semester of 2010 at Southern Polytechnic due to a faulty service encounter that was not properly handled by management of Compass Group USA doing business as Chartwells Food Service. The so called "managers" Jamie and Ron handled the report of employee misconduct extremely poorly, and as a result I cancelled the meal plan for the entire Spring Semester.
In November of 2009, I wrote to the corporate headquarters to report an employee’s misconduct that was unchecked by management, and never received a word.
However, toward the end of the spring semester, I noticed that the charge for this meal plan was still on my account.
In response, I launched a lawsuit against Southern Polytechnic State University, after receiving the runaround between personnel for nearly four months. Then on November 15, exactly one year after the service encounter that made me cancel the contract with this unprofessional service provider, the so called “manager” named Jamie told me that he was aware of the problem all along, and that he had to buy food (as if this justified not taking responsibility in the matter).
I came back a week later to speak with Jamie again. Since he was aware of the problem and tried turning his back, I told him that this was tortuous interference of a bilateral contract, and he just blew up. Perhaps this was too many big words; hard to say.
The point is that the managers Jamie and Ron at Chartwells were fully aware that their corporation received $1, 200 for services not rendered and did nothing about it. No offer of a remedy, no offer of a refund. Any legitimate company would have been more responsible by following up and taking care of the problem. This report was also submitted with the Better Business Bureau. They apparently have a history of not responding to customer complaints.
Do not ever trust this company to do the right thing when it comes to your money. Their managers do not even have a high school education and will do anything they can get away with.
